  • Scrafty has a solid niche in the metagame, having access to the rare combination of Intimidate and Fake Out alongside good bulk and offensive coverage that lets it cover a unique combination of common Pokemon in the tier, such as Tyranitar and Jellicent. Scrafty's poor damage output, however, is a major downside, oftentimes missing KOs even on super effective hits. Added on to this is a susceptibility to Intimidate, meaning that Scrafty can find itself providing little utility after the initial Fake Out and Intimidate.
  • Fake Out can generate pressure and opportunities for Scrafty's teammate, allowing it to set up Trick Room or Substitute more easily. Drain Punch is a reliable STAB attack with the added benefit of recovering some health. Low Kick more often has a higher Base Powder, allowing Scrafty to dish out more damage against heavier Pokemon such as Kyurem-B and Heatran. Notably, Low Kick OHKOes non-Chople Berry Tyranitar. Crunch is Scrafty's strongest Dark-type STAB move, giving it a high chance to 2HKO Jellicent. Taunt can be used to give Scrafty additional utility, allowing it to shut down support Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Jellicent.
  • Sitrus Berry is the preferred item to increase Scrafty's longevity.
  • The EV spread allows Scrafty to tank Dragon Gem Latios's Draco Meteor twice in a row while the remaining Attack investment allows it to still 2HKO key targets such as Tyranitar and Heatran.
  • Scrafty's utility comes from Intimidate and Fake Out, so it switches in and out often. Despite its low damage output, Scrafty's damage can still rack up if left unchecked, especially since it can be difficult to knock out thanks to Intimidate and its natural bulk.
  • Scrafty is common on Trick Room teams, as its unique skillset synergizes well with the needs of such teams. Cresselia and Jellicent are two common Trick Room setters that benefit from Intimidate and Scrafty threatening Latios and Tyranitar. Fake Out can also allow Cresselia and Jellicent to set up Trick Room easier. Latios is another excellent teammate, as it can benefit from Fake Out neutralizing a faster foe, such as Choice Scarf Kyurem-B, for a turn, allowing Latios to KO it. Additionally, Scrafty can threaten common Latios answers such as Tyranitar and Kyurem-B. It forms a solid Intimidate core with Landorus-T, neutralizing the opponent's physical attackers. Additionally, Landorus-T and Scrafty can control the pace of the battle, as Landorus-T pivots into a more favorable teammate, while Scrafty generates free turns with Fake Out.
  • Instead of Detect or Taunt, Super Fang is an option to damage bulkier Pokemon such as Thundurus and Gastrodon. Ice Punch is another option that does solid damage to Landorus-T and Thundurus. Helping Hand boosts the power of Scrafty's partner, thereby slightly mitigating its own low damage output.

  • Scrafty has a solid niche in the metagame, having access to the rare combination of Intimidate and Fake Out alongside good natural (as u ev it it is no longer 'natural') bulk and an offensive typing coverage that lets it cover a unique combination of common Pokemon in the tier, such as Tyranitar and Jellicent. Scrafty's poor damage output, however, is a major downside, oftentimes missing KO's even on super effective hits. Add on to this a susceptibility to Intimidate means that Scrafty can find itself providing little utility after the initial Fake Out and Intimidate use.
  • mention something generic about fake out generating pressure for ur teammates and getting to set up tr or some shit
  • Drain Punch is a reliable STAB attack with the added benefit of recovering some health. Low Kick can be a much stronger is a higher damage option, allowing Scrafty to dish out more damage against heavier Pokemon, such as Tyranitar (it is worth distinguishing you OHKO non-Chople Tar w/ Low Kick), Kyurem-B, and Heatran.
  • Crunch is Scrafty's strongest Dark-type STAB.
  • Taunt can be used to give Scrafty additional utility, allowing it to shut down support Pokemon, such as Amoonguss. either add to crunch that you 2hko jellicent or add to taunt that you shut down its utility options. you can condense all the moves into one bullet point imo
  • Sitrus Berry is the preferred item to increase Scrafty's longevity.
  • Since Scrafty's damage output is low even with maximum investment, it is best to focus on a more defensive spread. The above spread allows Scrafty to tank two consecutive Dragon Gem Latios Draco Meteor while the remaining Attack investment allows it to still 2HKO key targets, such as Tyranitar and Heatran.
  • Scrafty's best utility is Intimidate and Fake Out so it can be beneficial to switch it out often if the opportunity arises (a bit weird; preferable to phrase it as Its utility comes from Intimidate and Fake Out, so Scrafty switches in and out often). Despite its low damage output, Scrafty's damage can still rack up if left unchecked, especially since it has high staying power (very minor here but i'd prefer a different phrase because staying power might be associated with being on the field for an extended period, which is contradictory to the previous sentence) thanks to Intimidate and its natural bulk.
  • Scrafty oftentimes finds itself on Trick Room teams, as its unique skillset synergizes well with the needs of such teams. Cresselia and Jellicent are two common Trick Room setters that benefit from Intimidate and Scrafty's ability (did away w/ ability bc you talk about its actual ability in the same sentence) to threaten threatening Latios and Tyranitar (they also benefit from fake out to set up TR easier, right). Latios is another excellent teammate, as it can benefit benefits from Fake Out neutralizing a foe for a turn, allowing Latios to KO its teammate a foe (its teammate may be misinterpreted as KOing scrafty; you can find another word than 'foe'). Additionally, Scrafty can threaten common Latios answers, such as Tyranitar and Kyurem-B. Finally, with Landorus-T it can form forms a solid Intimidate core, neutralizing the opponent's physical attackers. Additionally, Landorus-T and Scrafty can control the field with U-Turn, allowing Landorus-T to bring out a more favorable partner, and Fake Out respectively. (rewrite; scrafty does not have u-turn and its a bit confusing how u-turn controls the field. I think this is more your intention: Landorus-T and Scrafty control the pace, as Landorus-T pivots into a more favorable teammate, while Scrafty generates free turns with Fake Out)
  • Super Fang is an option to damage bulkier Pokemon such as Gastrodon. Ice Punch is another option that can do does solid damage to Landorus-T and Thundurus. Helping Hand can boost boosts the power of Scrafty's partner, thereby slightly mitigating its own (just clarifying it's scrafty's own low damage output, not its teammates) low damage output.

Crunch is Scrafty's strongest Dark-type STAB, allowing it to 2HKO Jellicent. there is a chance this still misses with our current dex spread on jelli so need to be cautious of that. Taunt can be used to give Scrafty additional utility, allowing it to shut down support Pokemon, such as Amoonguss and Jellicent.

  • Scrafty oftentimes finds itself on Trick Room teams, this language is too passive, it's an active choice you make in the builder because it does work well together as you say as its unique skillset synergizes well with the needs of such teams. Cresselia and Jellicent are two common Trick Room setters that benefit from Intimidate and Scrafty threatening Latios and Tyranitar. Fake Out can also allow Cresselia and Jellicent to set up Trick Room easier. Latios is another excellent teammate, as it can benefit from Fake Out neutralizing a foe for a turn, allowing Latios to KO a foe. "allowing Latios to KO it." sounds better. give an example of something that might be neutralized by fake out that threatens latios if you want, since latios is already quite fast Additionally, Scrafty can threaten common Latios answers, such as Tyranitar and Kyurem-B. Finally, with Landorus-T it forms a solid Intimidate core, neutralizing the opponent's physical attackers. • Scrafty has a solid niche in the metagame, having access to the rare combination of Intimidate and Fake Out alongside good bulk and offensive coverage that lets it cover a unique combination of common Pokemon in the tier, such as Tyranitar and Jellicent. if you mean specifically Tyranitar and Jellicant here, change "such as" to "specifically" Scrafty's poor damage output, however, is a major downside, oftentimes missing KO's KOs even on super effective hits.
