Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
This slate will still be extended (though it might be shortened to allow the timing to line up with a roomtour being on next Sunday, will let you know any updates after I talk to the rest of council about that), so keep the submissions coming!
Quick update on this, this extended slate will now end on Wednesday July 26th instead of the originally planned Thursday July 27th. This will allow the Slate 5 roomtour to happen on Sunday after new move and ability distribution on Saturday. Thus, you have about 48 hours left to submit.
One day until voting begins, which means we have another veto phase! But, like last slate, I didn't have time to get out a sub review, so you will be allowed to add and edit any submission during this veto phase.
Speaking of the sub review, this is that sub review, so I'll be giving feedback on all submissions, while specifically pointing out the ones that are vetoed and should be fixed (denoted by the word veto, vetoing, or vetoed in bold). Unless your submission was vetoed, feel free to not take my advice as they are just my opinion. The feedback will be more brief than usual but I hope you still find it helpful!
Moves: This was bit borderline but we are vetoing Ice Crystals since they nerf non-Fire-type Special Attackers too much given while being somewhat tough to remove due to Ice-types being irrelevant. We don't need any more hazards anyway Items: Not really fan, feels a bit boring and messes with Tink's intended design as a utility mon with a big move, but it would make Tink viable probably Abilities: Objectively an improvement but still very low impact Adjustments: Raichu is actually pretty cool (rain doesn't need the help but it's still cool), Braviary is kinda just a worse Zapdos-G, Mismagius is also pretty sick. Volcanion actually gets a veto, not for Hydro Steam which I actually like on it, but for Steam Engine, as that's a really strong ability on such a powerful Pokemon that 4x resist Fire and is neutral to Water to have, could allow to just end a game when it gets to outspeed everything
Moves: Team Effort is extremely funny but it is vetoed as it's just a bit too strong, especially considering it's fairly tame drawback, forcing us to give it to basically ZU or PU mons to make it not broken. I recommend making it 160 BP, going down by 20 per fainted teammate. Creep Out is pretty good but honestly Bug has so many moves with crazy effects that it might face some competition (i.e. Lokix and Slither would have to considering running 3 Bug moves between this, Fimp, and U-Turn), Rage Fist and Raging Fury are sick, Spin Out is fun Items: Hero's Bubble is cool, Mixed attackers not named Iron Valiant aren't really a thing (non-Boots Enamorus and Garchomp too ig) so idt Balanced Scales will see much use outside of Valiant who theoretically loves it but can also just run Life Orb, Tiny Technician is okay Abilities: Ambush Hunter is sick, Indifferent to Protean, Unnerve is funny but maybe this would be better as a new ability as the only Bug with Unnerve rn is Masquerain and the only non-Bugs with it that can maybe use Bug moves are Corv (who's never using this), Haxorus, Calyrex (who's also never using this over Grass Pelt), and Persian (who's never using this over Tech). Stage Fright sounds fun. Adjustments: Not typically a fan of Shell Smashers but SV has a distinct lack of them and this also being a real Special Ice kills 2 birds with one teapot and that's good, Jugulis looks pretty good, Arboliva is honestly already in a pretty good spot with just Grass Pelt but an improvement is an improvement, Overqwil is meh
Moves: I like Accelerock but you could maybe give it some minor effect to make it more appealing (first idea that comes to mind is making it ignore stat changes, seems cool for a priority move to do that), Spike Cannon exists Abilities: Tempest is alright, Same for Water Compaction (which I appreciate being different from JolteMons Water Compaction) Adjustments: Spiritomb is pretty good, Wyrdeer is fine, Diancie is pretty neat actually, though I almost wish that you only gave it Rocky Payload to make absolute sure that you're incentivized to use Diamond Storm, and Luxray is probably a lost cause without some absolutely crazy stuff
Items: Extremely conflicted on these. On one hand, stuff like fast SD Beartic, free LOrd Lando-I, and infinite Speed Pyroar are very fun, I like those. On the other, this gives Great Tusk, Roaring Moon, and Sandy Shocks a free permanent Paradox boost and disrupts opposing weather strategies to an insane degree, which I don't like. Overall, cool concept the bad outweighs the good here. At the very least, the really strong weather disruption part could be fixed if you made it so that the holder acts as if they're always in that weather rather than actually setting the weather, would probably rather it be that. Making it not activate paradox abilities would also be nice, but that would be really arbitrary Abilities: Anticipation and Forewarn are decent, Cud Chew still looks fun
Moves: Not big on the Muks, they're fairly different but still feels a bit like a Jolte re-run, The birds look great (Muscle Memory Thunderous Kick >>>), Farigiraf is also great Abilities: Steely Spirit is based, the charge abilities are fine Adjustments: The type changing moves are prob still not worth it outside of stuff like Bellibolt, Boo! is funny, I kinda liked the Aftermath sub that made the Explosion moves into the old gen versions but Boo! sounds like a much healthier way to explore that idea, Terrain Pulse is meh since the terrain setters not named Arboliva aren't really that strong
Moves: Rummage is still fine, Grassy Glide exists Abilities: -Ates are still fine, Foot Sores are meh, kinda has the same problem as Hazardous Waste but not as bad, a 20% boost for having Rocks and Healing Stones on your side is pretty decent Adjustments: Banette is cool, Samurott is also cool but prob still bad (also this would be the fourth Supreme Overlord mon, Vespiquen also got it), Glaceon is still fun
Moves: Dream Eater is pretty neat Items: Riot Shield would probably never get used, almost everything needs at least 1 damaging move to function so it'd be hard to justify running this. Also we noticed in the description that certain attacking moves aren't effected by this, but it's not clear what those moves are as I interpreted "direct damaging attacks" as any non-status move, since they all deal damage, so be sure to list what specific moves aren't effected if you don't want all non-status to be effected Abilities: The priority abilities are still fine, Corrosion is meh, allowing Poison-types to hit Steels has been a pretty unpopular concept ever since it was a thing in SylveMons, Liquid Ooze is fine Adjustments: Altaria is pretty neat, the Lycanrocs are cool is not a bit concerning with Lycandusk doing insane damage with Head Smash
Moves: Cool concept but would be really annoying in practice since it's hard to calc for on the fly, maybe go for an even simpler formula for gaining power Items: Indecisive Orb is still cool. Ash Cap is very borderline, but we did end up vetoing it because it adds another insanely powerful Water-type in a meta where Inteleon already has a chokehold on us, so one that gets to switch moves and have coverage on top of its high power is likely not healthy. Make the stat boosts 1.3x (which is also closer to Ash Gren's actual stats, and you get it without having to activate Battle Bond which is nice) and it's fine Abilities: Justified is still fine, Sheer Heart is really fun Adjustments: Zacian is still okay, Truthfully I like Luke's birds more but these are still good, Greninja is probably okay, and honestly not really a fan of some of these Eeveelution buffs (mainly Recover) but I wouldn't be too mad if they won. One note though, Umbreon had Inner Focus replaced by Counteract, so be sure to add that back. Also give Espeon Aura Sphere tbh
Moves: Some slight Mortal Spin distribution could be neat, Not a fan of Freezer Burn though, whoever told you they liked Scald was probably lying. That said, I'd rather just have Scald with limited distribution instead of Ice Scald Items: Both still okay Abilities: Indifferent to the first two, the last two are pretty cool Adjustments: Both fine, though note that Farigiraf has Counteract instead of Sap Sipper, so be sure to add that in
Moves: Last Respects is still scary but that's a really creative way to make it not broken, Volt Pinball is alright, the Lariat clones are cool (though Dark-types don't need more physical moves at this point, but the other two are cool) Items: Roomba / Swiffer is vetoed for both the 8 turns of Trick Room, which has commonly been vetoed in the past, but also sounds like a pain to code. Royal Flush is honestly really cool but it would get vetoed as that 1.7x max boost is super high and hard to calc for, just lower it to 1.5x and it's fine. The boost for having 2 same type moves should also probably be 1.2x instead of 1.1x. Spidops-Man Mask is fine. Abilities: Flash Freeze is cool as counterplay to a notoriously great offensive typing, while Flash Flood is kinda just a worse Storm Drain unless we gave it to a bunch of physical attackers. State Change is 100% codeable and is decent, and Camouflage is too weird to really work in an OU environment (also I'd prefer if this wasn't called Camouflage since that's the name of a (albeit dexited) move, but it wouldn't get vetoed for that since Metronome the move and the item exist. imo, just make this Mimicry) Adjustments: Volcanion is okay, Not a fan of Iron Bundle mainly because it breaks one of the rules of Paradoxes by not having one of Delibird's types, Eelektross is probably still bad unfortunately, and the birds are interesting to say the least (though I'm not sure who's talking about Damp here)
Moves: I like the similar-ish effect more on Beaf's ability sub, but this is still aight Abilities: Bulletproof is a little underwhelming but it's a cool ability with basically 0 distribution so I don't mind it. Make it block Moonblast. Anticipation is fine Adjustments: Based
Moves: Snatch is such a cool move, though even with the slight buff it'll probably remain almost never used. Maybe make the Disable effect a bit longer, like 3 turns. Mirror Move likely still sucks, the other two are still fine Items: Covert Cloak is fine, Decoy Dondozo feels a bit off in terms of flavor, feel like it should make Tatsu more like Dondozo but doesn't really do that, and while Mold Breaker is cool I don't think it's a good enough ability to justify this. Maybe give Tatsu the effects of Unaware + a 50% Defense boost to better replicate Dozo's huge bulk. The power reduction on Flying and Fairy moves is also pretty random since Dozo doesn't resist those, but you can keep those. Ability Shield is still cool, A Salt Vest is still bleh. Abilities: Similar to the other Corrosion sub, but I do like that the poison moves are still resistant, makes dealing with Poison with this in play less annoying. Shield Dust is cool and the other two are fine, though imo I would include Stomping Tantrum, High Horsepower, and maybe Ice Spinner for Iron Foot Adjustments: Regular Zarude is a pretty decent upgrade, Dada Zarude might be a downgrade honestly as Normal/Grass is a much worse typing so you should probably give that one Double-Edge. Masquerain is cool, but you should probably keep Hydro Pump on it if you're giving it Snipe Shot, as Snipe Shot's effective power is just 5 BP less and I don't think that's broken on it without Quiver Dance, so Hydro shouldn't be either. The other two are still okay
Moves: Looks pretty fun Items: I see the vision, but the extra condition probably still makes this worse than Leftovers or boosting item for bulky attackers. Maybe add a slight (like 1.2x) power boost against targets with a status condition as well?
Items: Body Armor exists, Dubious Disc is still fine, Catfish Figure probably doesn't help Whiscash enough when it doesn't have recovery. Destiny Knot is kinda interesting, but I am wondering what reflected means here. If it means that the user can't have their stats lowered/raised and it all goes to the foe instead, that could potentially be broken with moves like CC or Draco, but if the stat changes happen to both then that's fine Abilities: -Ates are still fine, a couple mons getting Triage would be cool, and Reckless is pretty underwhelming Adjustments: Noivern is fine (though you don't need to remove Flamethrower, it gets other Fire moves anyway and you're still always using Torch Song over it anyway), Whiscash is still probably bad with or without the item also winning. I did have the idea of giving Whiscash Poison Heal awhile ago, so that + some coverage like Ice Spinner could maybe work?
Moves: Flying Press and Oxidize are meh, the former would be the third SylveMons meta in a row with a Fighting-type Freeze-Dry against Flying-types, and the latter is another "Poison hitting Steel" sub that people haven't liked much in the past. Psych Out and Wind Storm are fine, though the former is similar to my Psycho Boost sub Items: I don't know how to feel about Friendship Bracelet, probably too weird to work. Refined Metal is funny, but probably low impact Abilities: Hoarder is meh, mostly a worse Sticky Hold that reduces Knock damage. As for Disguise/Ice Face, I didn't realize this last slate, but the reset condition being changed to just if the field condition is active rather than when it starts is actually pretty broken and warrants a veto, as the combination of the field effect + Protect means that these can just choose to not die, which is dangerous when they have setup moves, and in Eiscue's case very high Speed to set up Snow again once it ends. Change it to only resetting when the field condition begins like how Ice Face currently is and it's fine Adjustments: Gyarados honestly scares me a little, it'd certainly be terrifying again. If I'm being honest this is my least favorite of the 3 Farigiraf's but it's still alright
Moves: Is fine Abilities: Powder is a very funny effect, so it as an ability sounds fun Adjustments: Both of these are vetoed, Braviary due to the combination of STAB ESpeed + Swords Dance with a high Attack stat making it a crazy sweeper, and Palossand due to the combination of its typing, Scald, and Sand Spit making it too effective of a trapper. For Braviary, either remove ESpeed or remove Swords Dance (and maybe Bulk Up too, it's very borderline on it but it'd be safer and if you REALLY want to set up it still has Hone Claws) and it's fine, while for Palossand you could either change its typing back to Ground/Ghost, remove Scald, or remove Sand Spit
Moves: Extremely cool move Adjustments: Iron Thorns is cool, Tech or Skill Link should be the last step in making that thing a real mon, and Ampharos is probably still bad but I see the vision. Firstly, you put Nasty Plot in the description but forgot to put it in place of Tail Glow in the New Moves section, so be sure to do that or this would get vetoed. Second, I think a setup set like that would really appreciate having Body Press to pair with Cotton Guard, as like a mini-demon Mew, so I recommend you add that
Moves: Chloroblast and friends are pretty nice Items: Zoom Lens are pretty cool Adjustments: Magic Guard Delphox has been a common idea and I've liked it each time
Moves: Mind Crush is fine Items: Both are still fine Abilities: Like the other Dark immunity subs, Optimist is pretty cool. Color Change is really interesting, grants a pretty good defensive typing but at the cost of having STAB, could be nice on really fat mons Adjustments: Still cool
Abilities: Still fine Adjustments: The Zarudes are kinda odd overall and I don't think I like them. At the very least, removing False Surrender is definitely unnecessary, and considering adding Sunblock back in as a secondary ability since it just got that last slate. Alomomola is pretty borderline, but we've decided to veto is as giving it Flip, Knock, and a Fairy-typing just makes it too good at being Alomomola. Keeping it pure Water and giving it Knock and Flip Turn is already enough for it probably. Can also add some other fun things, like Wave Crash to pair with Regen or Pluck because Beaf keeps saying it even though it doesn't make sense
Items: :baseball: is a pretty fun momentum gainer, the berries are probably still niche but maybe you can use it on screens?
Ice Crystals
Volcanion (Swagodile)
Team Effort
Roomba / Swiffer
Ash Cap
Royal Flush
Braviary (lavarina)
Palossand
Alomomola
And that's all from me! However, community member Gekokeso was also working on a sub review of their own and asked me to share their thoughts here, so you can find their review in the spoiler tag below. Note that some of the reviews won't account for the most recent changes to subs
Swagodile
Moves: Why.
Abilities: I approve of fusing mid abilities together but this doesn’t seem to be needed for the meta at all.
Items: War Hammer is strong but do we really need ANOTHER Tinkaton sub after the failure of the previous Tinkaton sub last slate?
Adjustments: Raichu-alola looks strong, giving it the new moves seem unnecessary but swift swim definitely would make this better. Braviary is basically just Zapdos-galar but on drugs, not necessarily interesting but definitely strong.
Z-nogyrop
Moves: Team Effort is absurdly strong even for a normal type move, it all depends on the distribution. Current distribution looks like it would make vaporemons lower tiers hell. Creep Out its honestly is good as a bug stab addition, even if its effect isn’t that useful for its current distribution. Raging fury is okay but i think rage fist might still make Ape too strong as its still 200 bp. Spin out also just seems like it exists but more steel type moves with reliable bp are welcomed.
Items: Hero’s bubble looks pretty strong, but it seems like a nice change for an otherwise too niche mon. Balanced scales seems ok.
Abilities: Ambush Hunter seems a bit wonky since its priority that solely depends on the opponent’s moves, so i don’t see it being too good. Protean, Unnerve and Stage Fright specifically look very cool.
Adjustments: Having a viable special ice type would be nice but Polteageist ain’t it since shell smashers have always been a headache in Sylvemons metas. Jugulis looks cool. Not feeling the Arboliva buff considering its currently actually decent by itself, it would be better to just have Overqwil focus on support, we DO NOT need another sniper user.
Chemicalmines
Moves: Approve of Accelerock redistribution. Spike Cannon seems a bit too similar to Shrapnel Shot but the low accuracy really kills this move.
Abilities: Not sure if we have the need for more wind move abilities, Tempest doesn’t look interesting. Half damage with water compaction is actually nice, rain and misty effect seems irrelevant.
Adjustments: No need to further add more buffs to Spiritomb. Another psychic fighting with how good meloetta currently is with the typing seems unnecessary. Diancie seems decent and Luxray is still unviable in Ou most likely, but is significantly better.
G-luke
Moves: Type change moves become more interesting albeit still meh. Ghost type explosion sounds absurdly strong but I guess it could be fun, terrain pulse just looks okay on whatever gets to abuse it.
Abilities: Already commented on Steely Spirit being okay, I do like the change with the charge effect abilities.
Adjustments: Already commented about the Muks and the birds being good in discord, Farigiraf looks spicy with technician and fun moves to abuse.
Beebos
Moves: Rummage has been resubbed for a while but is good, the grassy glide rework looks interesting.
Abilities: Nothing to add on ates, I still go to sleep immediately when I see anything whose strength relies on having hazards in your side of the field.
Adjustments: Only seeing the prankster sets with Ceaseless Edge as relevant, anything else it tries ends with this thing being outclassed. Don’t see Samurott having the same strength as Kingambit, looks like a very weak change. Slush Rush Glaceon still sounds mid.
PQRDG
Moves: Its ghost special strength Sap, not much to add about it other than its decent.
Items: Physical assault vest is resubbed nearly everytime, and each time it gets minimal support, do what you want with that information.
Abilities: The anti-priority abilities are nothing too groundbreaking but a nice change, Queenly Majesty on Vespiqueen is cool as a pseudo Covert Cloak. Corrosion is a bit uninteresting.
Adjustments: Cotton Gard Fluffy Altaria seems a bit too niche, levitate is a tad more interesting for its niche as an non-ground weak electric. Not a fan of Rock Steel Lycan since steel restrains its switch in opportunities, but the other two lycans are fine.
Lysion
Moves: Underdog is too niche of a move imo, you either give it to mons with decent stat that will rarely get constantly high bp or its only usable on mons with terrible stats.
Items: Indecisive Orb is decent.
Abilities: Live Kingambit reaction, its alright.
Adjustments: Zacian got Outclass now, so you might want to include that in the sub. Looks cool. Gogoat is ok as a resub, the birds look cool even if they are not my favorite bird change this slate and Physical Greninja is a meme as long as Cinderace exists.
PalpitoadChamp
Abilities: Opportunist is a good resub.
Adjustments: Add Knock off to Tyranitar and maybe then you are cooking.
Ayecrusher King
Moves: The mortal spin sub is alright , I feel like Freezer burn would be fun only on ice types, water types with water ice overage that burn sounds annoying.
Items: Feel like the items that switch the attacking stats should be just one that do the combined effect (changing the categories of all the attacking moves) since otherwise mons like Enamorus get very goofy coverage. Mirror herb feels ike a nerf imo, its best use is with gimmick sets like swagger and being activated on intimidate instantly defuses the item without any downside to the opponent.
Abilities: Stat Leech seems a bit too annoying as Strength Sap clones on contact, Clear Advantage could be interesting, Backfire looks cool and Ruthless loos ok.
Adjustments: Hisuilugg has been resubbed for multiple slates now with no change on voting, would suggest subbing something else. Farigiraf with boomburst is interesting but its situation is similar to the avalugg sub.
Sigilyph Bro
Moves: Last Respects change and Volt Pinball look ok, Darkest Lariat and clones look fine.
Items: Not sure if these items are codeable at all, they also look bad. Royal Flush is actually interesting but the last boost would be better with a x1.5 boost to make it balanced (live Kingambit reaction) and Spidops-Man Mask looks a like a hilarious item, still does not make Spidops higher than PU.
Abilities: Flash Flood | Flash Freeze would be good to replace swift swim on various water mons, State Change is funny but looks bad, Camouflage is already a move, its best to change Mimicry instead to not screw up coding.
Adjustments: Really doubt that Volcanion is in need of a buff, much one that just makes other already good rune drive mons like Valiant better. The Eelektross change is cool but still not OU material, Bundle losing its STAB on ice while not gaining any ice move nearly completely kills its viability, would either give it Volt-Switch or its other pivoting moves back to have a niche over Inteleon. Moltres getting Revival Blessing is whatever but Articuno is cool.
Anaconja
Moves: Looks interesting, moves that reward you for setting hazards >>>> moves that reward you for your opponent setting their hazards.
Abilities: Pretty annoying that we have to rely to changes like the Bulletproof to handle Inteleon, just nerf the mon. Anticipation change seems decent to prevent revenge killing.
Adjustments: Interesting Resub.
Beaf Cultist
Moves: Ghosts tend to be pretty fragile so this move could be interesting to increase their longevity. Chisel looks hilarious, I think it could definitely work since it's a rock type move with perfect accuracy and most likely it should get at least 1-2 hits all the time. Probably could afford boosting the bp to 50 per hit.
Abilities: Offensive rocky helmet, could be a very fun ability.
Adjustments: Brambleghast still doesn’t give me the vibes that it can carry sand as a playstyle imo, Wigglytuff exists.
The Damned
Moves: Snatch and Mirror Move don’t seem very special nor useful, If Elegant Punch hasn’t made it in 4 slates it probably would be times for subbing something else. Fang moves are cool though.
Items: Covert Cloak is okay, but i think a wind boosting item would be better on an item with with offensive potential as opposed to a defensive item, Decoy Donzo doesn’t seem like it will help Tastugiri too much since it gives it defensive buff when its an inherently offensive mon. Ability Shied is just okay but I do really like the A Salt Vest.
Abilities: Corrosion making poison moves hit steels was already subbed by someone else this slate, Shield Dust looks good. Justified as dark immunity was already subbed by someone else but Fairy Ringer is ok, Iron Fist is cool but im not a fan of making another category of moves for Iron Foot.
Adjustments: Fuck this is long so im gonna be concise. Grass Dark Zarude with sheer force fine, Grass Normal Zarude is absolutely terrible, it had Parental Bond last gen with the original typing so this typing change is completely unnecessary. I guess having other web setters besides zone could diversify meta a bit but not sure if this will see any use whatsoever. Wugtrio and clones look meh, Wug seems like the only one that can dish out decent damage but their offensive and defensive profiles don’t look usable in anything but the lower tiers. Not a fan of making Rotom forms have movesets that are very distinct from one another as it makes little sense, as for individual forms they also just seem to exist and have very weird additions like Misty Surge Wash or Electric Surge Heat.
Sannis
Moves: Think I liked Mind Rend this one better when it was physical but its alright.
Item: Spider Ring just seems way too niche of an item, the opponent switches out and the healing is gone, very unreliable.
Flareth
Items: Body Armor and Dubious disc have been subbed multiple times with no avail, they just don’t seem that interesting. Catfish Figure its interesting but I doubt it makes Whiscash that usable, Destiny Knot looks fun tho.
Abilities: Reckless Distribution looks interesting, Triage redistribution a bit less. Do wish we had more -ates tho,
Regic Boat
Items: Eviolith wasn’t used for a reason Lmao, it wasn't that good back then and it most likely won’t be right now.
Abilities: Ghoul Presence is alright.
Adjustments: Not sure why hisui-goodra is included here since its already forcefully used to stop inteleon, the buff to normal goodra is ok since it makes it an option to check said inteleon.
LOrd Fernado
Abilities: As people said before crippling boost is just worse Quick Feet and moody has to compete with the other moody changes, which many seem more interesting than this one which does not make the ability viable.
IceLevelIncarnate
Moves: Flying Press is worse sky uppercut from Joltemons but Oxidize is pretty decently strong. The Overheat clones for flying types and psychic types are cool tho.
Items: Friendship Bracelet looks bad on the account that it depends too heavily on the opponent, Refined Metal seems a bit too much and I would recommend removing one of the healing effect or heal recovery, mostly the latter.
Abilities: Hoarder seems like it could be very fun if the effect works on each switch in. Disguise and Ice Face seem ridiculous, you just click protect and make your mons nearly immortal between switch ins. I don’t think there is a way to balance that effect.
Adjustments: Not a fan of Dragon Water Gyarados even if I like the moves added to it, Contrary Farigiraf could be cool tho.
Lavarina
Moves: Mind burn seems just okay, move is mid without getting burns but very strong if it actually get ones.
Abilities: Explosive Hazard is funny, would rename it to something like flammable but the name suits it well.
Adjustments: Espeed Braviary with sd looks a bit annoying to face off but not a big deal, Water Ground Palossand does seem very boring since Gastrodon already does most of his job better.
Mintly
Moves: As someone who actually likes outplaying sucker punch I am very torn on wherever I like this or not, since I don’t like it for the anti-sucker punch aspect but yes for the anti-extreme speed aspect.
Adjustments: Ah, that explains the addition of Parry. Jokes asides I think it's just okay, Shift Gear Iron Thorns is an overrated concept since its issue it's mostly its power rather than its inability to outspeed stuff.
Yoshiblaze
Moves: Spit Up and Brine are fine, Psycho Boost and Heart Swap are both cool.
Abilities: Energy Drain is cool, Receiver is meh and Accumulate is actually pretty cool.
Adjustments: Snorunt Line seems serviceable to add more ice types, of the Tauroses the only decently looking one is Aqua but they all don’t seem very interesting, Cyclizar and the horses are cool.
Totally Odette
Moves: I like all three of them, special recoil moves are very unexplored and making them decent seems fun, shame on electrode tho.
Items: Very good zoom lens that helps give a niche with slower mons.
Nani!
Moves: Mind Crush is fine, makes hoopa unbound pretty scary tho.
Items: Power Herb is basically like having a worse Z-move in some cases but still okay, leather belt is fun tho.
Abilities: While Optimist is a bit boring I absolutely adore the Color Change buff, its an idea I have tried to get into other mods but to no avail, and it can lead to a mon with a very interesting defensive profile.
Actively Aria
Abilities: The starter ability change is okay, makes them a bit better but not by much.
Adjustments: Zarude changes are ok I guess, not a fan of making Alomomola water fairy, that seems like it would be very annoying to face.
Zxgzxg
Abilities: Mind Games sounds like an insanely fun ability, I like it a lot.
Adjustments: Don’t see the vision in a Tornadus buff, guess having an earthquake to nuke Heatran would be fun. Neither with the electrodes they seem like they don’t do much as well.
Gravity Monkey
Items: The berries seem fine, could work on the right mons. Baseball Glove just seems fine as well as an anti-sweeping mechanism.
Destiny Knot is kinda interesting, but I am wondering what reflected means here. If it means that the user can't have their stats lowered/raised and it all goes to the foe instead, that could potentially be broken with moves like CC or Draco, but if the stat changes happen to both then that's fine.
Yeah, both get the stat changes, would be way too broken otherwise. I should've really chosen a better word than "reflected", but I couldn't really think of a better word than that.
First and foremost, thanks for the reviews since I'm sure it takes a long time. You too, Gekokeso. As of this post, I have already edited my other post since this all that time I'll have right now before voting actually starts later tonight:
MOVES:
Fair about Snatch. Disable still exists, so I was trying not to obviate it, but it's not like anyone is using Disable as it is, and if 3 turns disabling is still fair, then consider Snatch to disable that long now. Thank you.
Also fair about Mirror Move. I more just submitted it because I felt stupid about not doing it after I complained about it not existing when I first submitted Rotom(-Fan). I'm unsure if there's a significant way to buff Mirror Move that would ensure it gets used without utterly breaking it in some way though.
ITEMS:
Yeah, Decoy Dondozo is in a weird place, which is part of why I didn't submit it last slate and why I'll probably just let it die after this one. The Flying-halving aspect was due to Tatsugiri's dex entries about luring Flying-types for Dondozo to destroy, but there's no real excuse for the Fairy-halving aspect. I'm not sure if we need or even want another Unaware user, but your suggestions do at least make far more sense, I'll just change it to your suggestion and see if wins (which is unlikely but that's fine). (Also, the would-be declaration line has been changed to the much superior "...Something looks fishy about this Dondozo.")
Noted about Covert Cloak, and I somewhat agree, actually. I just think if something does buff Wind, then it needs a bit more than just that (since a non-contact clause does nothing for it) without also being too overbearing.
ABILITIES:
I'll add all three (High Horsepower, Ice Spinner, and Stomping Tantrum) of those to Iron Foot then. Only seems fair given that Glubflubb had them on his (?) list and I basically stole the idea from him. Besides, Ice Spinner is the closest thing to Triple Axel that actually exists right now (even though Triple Axel is still technically existent), though hilariously poor Glastrier gets neither High Horsepower nor Ice Spinner. (I'm almost surprised it actually has Stomping Tantrum--poor thing.)
MONS:
Fair about Normal/Grass Zarude-Dada . I'm not sure why I tunnel-visioned into "THIS MUST BE ANTI-GHOST" despite there still being only like...two, maybe three, really viable Ghosts in the meta still. Probably because worthwhile Ghost resists are still rare. (Gods, why couldn't you win, Nocturnal?) Anyway, after clearing my head somewhat, if it's permissible, then I'm going to overhaul Zarude-Dada to be Fighting/Grass since we lost one of those when Ghost/Fighting Decidueye-Hisui won. I'm going to have to take away Close Combat (from both) since that seems...obnoxious with Parental Bond (with STAB), with Parental Bond and making sure that regular Zarude actually still had a niche (unlike JolteMons where it basically might as well have no existed) being the biggest concerns here, but Superpower otherwise works fine as a replacement for Close Combat and now I can give both Zarudes Aura Sphere and give Zarude-Dada Vacuum Wave instead of Fake Out. I hope that's fine, but I'll understand if it's vetoed since that's a rather significant change (that I should have thought of earlier).
Oh. I'll just readd Hydro Pump and Quiver Dance to Masquerain then. Much like with Zarude-Dada and Parental Bond, it was primarily Water Bubble being OP and vetoed that I was worried about here.
Thanks for the feedback, Yoshiblaze and Gekokeso. I'll make sure to vote later tonight since apparently I'm likely going to be super busy tomorrow now. Yay.... No rest for the wicked, just (literal) headaches.
