Thanks to its huge Attack stat and outspeeding almost every unboosted Pokemon in the metagame, Barraskewda is a powerful cleaner that can tear through common threats like Iron Treads and Zapdos with Liquidation. Close Combat threatens to 2HKO Hisuian Goodra and Zamazenta-C, as well as covers incoming Desolate Land Pokemon such as Cinderace and Heatran. Psychic Fangs and Drill Run both OHKO Iron Moth as well as threaten Quaquaval and Toxapex, and Drill Run also hits Desolate Land Skeledirge that would otherwise switch into Barraskewda for free. Aqua Jet allows Barraskewda to act as a revenge killer and pick off weakened foes, while Poison Jab can be used on Protean sets to 2HKO Scream Tail and Enamorus-T. Due to its defensive frailty, Barraskewda pairs well with defensive pivots like Corviknight that can safely bring it in to threaten opposing Pokemon. Additionally, specially offensive teammates like Volcanion and Iron Moth help break through defensive foes such as Cresselia and Rotom-W that Barraskewda might otherwise struggle with. Entry hazard setters like Iron Treads and Clodsire also help Barraskewda 2HKO Scream Tail and have a chance to OHKO Garchomp. Primordial Sea Barraskewda variants also fit well on offensive teams that need to cover a Fire-type weakness.
