So this is the first team i've been testing post the DLC. Seems to do ok but feel something is missing.
Team At A Glance
I liked Ting-Lu from previous teams. Hazard setter, good bulk, suppressor of most special sweepers and stat boosters. A solid 1st Pokemon to choose from.
Thundurus-Therian. A monster of a wallbreaker. Has insane Sp Atk and an effective movepool to boot.
Iron Valiant. Another monster. With such a diverse movepool, it keeps people on their toes.
Cress has always been a favourite of mine. Great bulk and has the ability to setup on Unaware due to Stored Power. Can also run more defensive sets as well.
Kingambit. Notorious late-game cleaner. Always a constant threat.
Wellspring Ogerpon. Finishes off the team pretty nicely.
Team In Depth
Ting-Lu@ Leftovers
Tera Type: Poison
Nature: Careful
EV's: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Sp Def
Stealth Rock
Ruination
Whirlwind
Earthquake
Pretty standard Sp Def Ting-Lu. Stealth Rock seems to be the best hazard Ting-Lu can lay right now due to Ogerpon Fire being seen frequently. Whirlwind is a must to get rid of boosting sweepers. Ruination puts dents in bulky Pokemon forcing them to use recovery moves. Earthquake is just generic STAB. Tera Poison gets rid of Ting-Lu's Bug and Fighting weaknesses, as well as provide an emergency removal of Toxic Spikes should it be necessary.
Other Options to use: Gliscor/Landorus-T.
Thundurus-Therian@ Choice-Specs
Tera Type: Flying
Ability: Volt Absorb
Nature: Modest
Ev's: 4 HP/252 Sp Atk/252 Speed
Tera Blast
Grass Knot
Volt Switch
Hammer Arm
A monstrous wallbreaker that can put dents into most things. Volt Switch allows for momentum on switches that are not immune to it. Tera Blast Flying is an incredible nuke,, scoring OHKO's on quite a few bulky things whilst also 2HKO'ing the likes of Closdsire reasonably often. Grass Knot OKHO's Gargnarcl, either forcing Tera or a switch. Hammer Arm in case Blissey is ever around.
Iron Valiant@ Booster Energy
Tera Type: Fairy
Ability: Quark Drive
Nature: Naive
EV's: 252 Sp Atk/252 Speed/4 Atk
Close Combat
Moonblast
Destiny Bond
Thunderbolt
Iron Valiant is one of the key late game sweepers used to take advantage of the holes that Thundurus-T can put into teams with it's monstrous special atk. Booster Energy allows it to outspeed virtually everything late game. Close Combat to take on any Steel/Dark types that are left over, as well as offering a powerful STAB option. Moonblast and Thunderbolt for generic special coverage. I opted for Destiny Bond over other options like Hypnosis. A lot of players tend to want to send in Pokemon it won't quite KO to eliminate it immediately hoping for an Hypnosis miss, hence why Destiny Bond is used to KO that Pokemon as well, possible allowing another sweeper to come in. Tera Fairy to rid Iron Valiant of it's own Fairy weakness, as well as Psychic in case you are 1 v 1 with opposing Iron Valiant and have not yet Tera'd.
Cresselia@ Covert Cloak
Tera Type: Poison
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Bold
EV's: 252HP/200Def/56 Speed Alt Spread 252HP/184Def/72 Speed
Moonblast
Stored Power
Calm Mind
Moonlight
Probably my favourite Pokemon past Gen 4. In previous generations Cresselia was often sporting more defensive sets, but with the advent of Tera it can finally demonstrate it's effectiveness as a setup bulky sweeper. Poison Tera sheds Cresselia's Dark and Ghost weaknesses, while still retaining it's Fighting resist as well as gaining a valuable Fairy resist. Poison Tera also alleviates the issue of being poisoned, which is one of the few things that puts Cresselia in a hurt locker. Cress can setup up Calm Mind fairly easily due to it's immense bulk. Stored Power circumvents Unaware users, as well as aids in winning Calm Mind wars. Moonblast allows Cress to hit dark types for super effective damage. Moonlight is a decent recovery option that can take advantage of opposing sun teams. 56 Speed outpaces any Ursulana that attempt to outspeed max Jolly Kingambit. However, 72 Speed EV's ensures that you always outrun Ursulana, which can help immensely in 1v1 Calm Mind wars, as you're only likely to lose if you're way behind on boosts or get crit by Blood Moon.
Kingambit@Black Glasses/Air Balloon
Tera Type: Flying
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Nature: Adamant
EV's: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Speed
Kowtow Cleave
Iron Head
Swords Dance
Sucker Punch
I decided that bulky Kingambit was a better option for Kingambit post Teal Mask rather than opting for 252 speed, and so far it works a fair amount of the time. Naturally a late game cleaner, Swords Dance and Sucker Punch put immense pressure of your opponent. Iron Head I felt was more needed due to consistent STAB that can hit fairies. Kowtow Cleave for generic Dark STAB. I've been experimenting with both Black Glasses and Air Balloon. Black Glasses offers more power, but Air Balloon does not waste my Tera, affording me the opportunity to potential KO something if that Pokemon has to use another move to break the Air Balloon.
Ogerpon @ Wellspring Mask
Tera Type: Water
Nature: Jolly
EV's: 252 Atk/4 Sp Def/252 Speed
Ivy Cudgel
Swords Dance
Horn Leech/Power Whip/Trailblaze
Substitute
I've got to say I actually like this set. While it may lose some utility, it gains in being able to safely setup without fear of status, due to the amount of switches Ogerpon can force. Substitute blocks all status moves, especially burns which Ogerpon hates. Swords Dance complements Substitute really well, turning Ogerpon into a terrifying sweeper. Ivy Cudgel is an amazing attack with a high critical hit ratio. I have been experimenting with Horn Leech due to Substitute wearing Ogerpon down and needing the recovery, as Ogerpon does have some bulk so can take a decent neutral hit from high HP, however Power Whip has extra power and Trailblaze boosts speed, which potentially allows it to outspeed everything that is left and KO.
Other options: Run Knock Off and U-Turn/Play Rough for utility/coverage.
