NOC Smogon Mafia Mafia (Won by the Mafia)

Basically “just closed setup” heavily implies the presence of vts not to mention IPL posted a villager claim

On the note of speculation there’s a near 100% chance the indie has a BPV so if you’re protection and there’s no kill it’s not an auto redcheck, like if this happens N1 and you’re not in danger proooobably don’t out immediately?

First(?) indie since revival so this type of thing should be said

Redcheck / greencheck anyway eg if you’re doctor lol

when tommy asked if i wanted to moderate circus i made sure there was a shared understanding that i'd be absolutely not involved in game approvals given that i know shit all about it
Yeah it is a bucket of bureaucracy really, and tbf there’s no a hard standard so there’s a chance I’m wrong wrt Smogon (untested! The only closed setup role madness so far was mine and I included it myself) but it is at least how I did it when I approved games elsewhere

btw if you're wondering why it took me 5 mins to reply I was on my phone trying to work out how to spell bureaucracy bc I don't think I've ever typed it on a phone keyboard before and I'm hungover

just got to PC and typed it correct first try idt that's bc I learned something I think it's the muscle memory of a proper keyboard

oh i just assumed you had a life
I technically do in that I am STILL PAINTING THIS SHED BTW it's simultaneously enjoyable and deeply not enjoyable.

Why I decided to coincide starting to work out after essentially 2 years of inactivity due to an injury with the genuinely physical task of painting a shed is baffling to me

I feel the need to sr pulsar out of some form of self-defense, but then again pulsar has generally shown a general disdain towards me recently, but then again she was scum last game where she definitely showed said disdain, but then again demoman_charge.mp3

Someone has already murdered a local famous villager.

Dear Duskfall98,

You are a Town Villager.

You’re just strong enough to be useful in a fight with a numbers advantage, but pretty weak otherwise. Yet, you’re still essential to the wellbeing of the town! Please do your best to root out the evil scourge hiding within the city! Best of luck to you.

You win if all non-Town members are dead.

And with that, the game begins!

vote no lynch prob optimal w/o info.

would also be willing to vote neon if we just want to get rid of him i dont think thats insane, but i think just having one more town is probably unfortunately worth
No vote Is almost never optimal, the day time is one of the only ways we can actually eliminate a scum

Can you elaborate on what your beef is with ‘neon’. Is this just a revenge angle from a prior game or is there a more tangible reason to want him gone (I.e. does he have a history of trolling as village / throwing games?). I haven’t played in a while so any help catching up on player dynamics / metas would be appreciated.

I generally am of the opinion that a day 1 no vote is silly in NOCs, it’s just too conservative. Even if we misvote as long as there is good discussion and several alternatives under consideration then we can see who steered things where later on.

Opening read on pulsar is slight town because the stream of consciousness felt genuine to me and I think that it is less likely a mafia (or third party) would open with that vs. a townie. I dislike their proposed no vote strategy but I don’t think the suggestion was made out of malice / from a mafia perspective.

If people could post reads early and often that’d also be good, even if it’s just a soul read or a vibe check the whole point of day 1 is to see who is buddying with who and (more importantly) who is avoiding who. Even if we are wrong in some of our reads it’ll be a lot harder for mafia to hide their teammates in the ‘neutral’ reads bucket if we are proactively trying to sort.

Alright I’m out for most of the day but will try to make a post with updated reads when I’m off work. Please keep my thoughts above in mind because NOCs often end up being decided by Day 1 (not necessarily the vote outcome, but the player dynamics established during it).

For now vote Jalmont because the last time we played together he was a bit lazy so I think this is an optimal start of day kick in the pants. My vote will stay here until Jalmont posts reads on everyone who has made a meaningful post.
Neon trolled some games in the past and was avoiding the game by fluffing in an anti-town manner. That being said, he's rolled town every game and actually was an easy read last game. I'm inclined to ignore pulsar's neon push here

No real strong opinion on other people, everyone's good/unreadable enough to be in their scum meta, don't really like pulsars game so far. they are all over the place and they should know neon was obv town last game so let me just drop my vote there

vote pulsar

This is my first game of forum mafia but we played a lot of mafia/social deduction games in general in uni. Forum version is a bit of a different beast I imagine but mafia underestimate me at your own peril
Ok thanks

Underestimating you and putting you as newbie town in my readslist from your opening
