This team is based off Brawlex's ? team I encountered on Shoddy a while ago. The concept is simple and it is to exploit a teams ability to not counter a combination of two Pokemons move set. At the time he was running Dragon Dance Outrage Dragonite and Swords Dance Garchomp. All these Pokemon are allowed with the item clause much like his team is. Here is what I have:
Gengar (♂) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Focus Blast
- Hypnosis
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
Tricky lead. Hypnosis has a crappy accuracy but it works for me the majority of the time. Great coverage with the move choices and believe Gengar ain't no chump! Blisseys will think twice before absorbing a Shadow Ball from this Gengar as Focus Blast 3-4HKO's Blissey discounting the Special Defense drop it may get. Problems this may encounter are ScarfPorygon-Z but other than that I've got the hang of it. Battling Lee I learned that wasting time trying to put ghost to sleep is pointless. I don't think there is a Ghost capable of surviving a stabbed Shadow Ball with the possible execption of Spiritomb who should fall anyway because of its low HP.
---
Gyarados (♂) @ Wacan Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 212 HP/16 Atk/180 Def/100 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Waterfall
I'm surprised at the amount of teams on Shoddy not capable of handling BulkyDos! Big in size and Defenses. This thing gets a couple dances in and prepares to sweep teams. I usually don't bring him in until mid game, this however puts me at a disadvantage since Stealth Rock is usually up; it does however let me set up efficiently. Stupid Bronzong wish their Gyro Balls could be powerful enough to take this ass hole down. Wacan Berry to survive unSTABd Thunderbolts (Starmie) and Discharge (Cresselia).
---
Garchomp (♂) @ Yache Berry
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 12 HP/252 Atk/244 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Blast
- Swords Dance
First exploiter of the team. This thing hits fast and hard. Who doesn't have a Garchomp on their team today? Although I prefer ScarfChomp this has been working out exceptionally well. Fire Blast is there for Skarmory and Celebi who might otherwise ruin my fun. Resistance Berry again to insure my survival.
---
Metagross @ Choice Band
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Meteor Mash
Good ol' "gross hasn't changed much since ADV and with the addition of Bullet Punch this thing can take out a lot of Pokemon who think they'll be able to dance all over my team (Mainly SDWeavile).
---
Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Recover
- Thunder Wave
DeadDragonsSayWhat? Killerbi. This thing is even better now than it was in ADV! Destroys Vaporeans and others who think their Ice Beam will do squat. Physical spread to withstand shat. Spreads status all over the place with Thunder Wave. Because of Thunder Wave I have considered ScarfChomp to deal with Electivire but so far it hasn't proven to be any threat at all.
---
Heatran (♂) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Earth Power
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Electric]
Just sit back and light a spliff. Playing in on its tons of immunities this thing is a monstaaaaa. Takes Will-O-Wisp's, Ice Beams, Ice Punches and Fangs willingly. This Skarmkilling, lava eater is perfect for my team.
Summary:
Hurt by the ability to not phaze.
Threat List:
Tyranitar- Whether it is the Rock Polish, Dragon Dancer, Choice Bander, or the wall breaking Boah there is little he can do to my Garchomp who will usually destroy him with stabbed Earthquakes. Thanks to Sand Viel and Sand Stream I also get a few evasions. Oh and Gengar gets in lovely Focus Blasts.
Gyarados- Celebi is very capable of handling Gyarados and 2-3HKO'ing with Grass Knot. Gyarados' STAB Waterfall are shrugged off. Gengar also handles him pretty well taking him down with Thunderbolt.
Infernape- One of the few Pokemon my team has problems with but Gyarados and Garchomp handle well. They do have to watch out for Nasty Plot boosted Grass Knots.
Azelf- Man get this out of my face. Heatran gladly switches into this resisting Psychic, Grass Knot, and Explosion while gaining that oh so lovely boost from Flamethrower. Gengar Shadow Balls also work wonders.
Rhyperior- This dies to Grass Knots from Celebi or Meteor Mashes from Metagross. Even with its resistance to Fire it is not guaranteed to survive repeated Fire Blasts from Heatran. Also Gengar troubles him with Focus Blast.
Electivire- Garchamp takes him down easy. Nothing he can do to my Garchamp unless the Yache Berry is already wasted.
Heracross- Troublesome to take out, Gengar resist and is immune to his two main attacks but he has to watch out for Stone Edge much like Gyarados. Garchomp doesn't mind sending this critter to hell with a Fire Blast either.
Salamence- Countered by Garchomp he posses no real threat. SpecsMence is handled by Heatran who only has to watch out for Hydro Pump, but being that Celebi and Gyarados resist it Mence wont be using it. The other versions have to watch out for Gyarados' Ice Fang and they have to be careful when switching it because Celebi is packing HP Ice.
Togekiss- Handled by Gengar, who is immune to Aura Sphere and faster than it so flinch hax wont be working. Itll be met with a Thunderbolt by Gengar, an Ice Fang from Gyarados, or a Hidden Power Ice by Celebi.
Gengar- Gengar! Hoping it isn't scarfed Gengar should be able to take it down with Shadow Ball unless the other goes first. I will however pray the other Gengar is using Hypnosis and misses. Garchomp can also come in on this with barely any consequences.
Garchomp- Outrage Garchomp is walled by my Steel types and Celebi as long as he is locked in. If he gets a chance to use Earthquake or a Fire move they might be in trouble. Gyarados can handle him a bit being neutral to Dragon.
Raikou- Who the hell uses this anymore? Bulky Waters are gone and with all these Bulky Grounds around he wont be doing much. Unless he has a Calm Mind in he wont be much competition for Garchomp.
Lucario- Celebi can handle it as long as it avoids Dark Pulse, Crunch and Blaze Kick. When that happens Gyarados can come in and deal with him.
Tauros- Be gone pestering cow! Gengar handles him now that he no longer has Physical Shadow Ball. He is afraid of Pursuit and Zen Headbutt.
Starmie- No true counter to this and its rather troublesome. Gengar can Shadow Ball it and Celebi can Grass Knot it. Other than that good luck!
Weavile- Metagross runs all over it.
Dugtrio- Celebi can deal with it very well since it will be surviving Sucker Punch. Gyarados can take it, he is just afraid of a Dugtrio who switches in and gets that Stone Edge off before him.
Alakazam- Although it outspeeds Gengar it wont be happy taking any Shadow Balls on the switch or physical attacks from any of my Pokemon.
Porygon-Z- This thing doesn't like Steel Pokemon and it loathes being slower than Gengar.
Medicham- Gengar who is afraid of faster Chams.
Staraptor- Tricky tricky. Close Combat and Brave Bird damages a lot of my Pokemon. Residual damage is what I aim for so I usually resort to Gyarados or Gengar.
Slowbro- Hi meet Gengar the Shadow Balling ghost with a tail.
Machamp- Thanks to No Guard he will probably be dying first when up agaisnt Heatran. Guts variants will be met with Gengar.
Jolteon- Garchamp.
Aerodactyl- Tricky to kill as it is faster and carries STABed Stone Edges.
Snorlax- Another tricky monster to kill. Metagross can only hope to avoid Earthquake and KO with Explosion. Gengar Focus Blast require patience.
Zapdos- Very tricky to kill. Celebi can handle it with HP Ice and Garchomp can deal it neutral damage with STABed Dragon Claws.
Blissey- Any Physical Attacker will do.
Suicune- Suicune has no weak...
Sceptile- Meet Heatran who doomed you to BL
Breloom- Seriously an annoying motherfucker. Celebi likes him though :)
Slaking- Gengarrrrrrr.
Tangrowth- Garchomp is neutral to its attacks and Celebi resists them both and can finish it off with HP Ice.
Ninjask- He doesnt like too many members on my team, and has a grudge with Metagross.
Metagross- Meet your demise. Gyarados, Garchomp, Heatran, and even a Metagross!
Celebi- I can wall it with my Celebi but if it Calm Minds I'm screwed. Heatran can get in there for the easy Fire Blast and Gengar can Shadow Ball it.
Jirachi- Not too fond of members of my team including and especially Garchomp and Heatran.
Tentacruel- He has a hard time surviving against my team all of who carry super effective attacks against it.
Magnezone- It better pray Heatran misses with Fire Blast or at least hope it gets in Magnet Rise because if it doesn't 4/6 are ready to deal with it.
Weezing- Having no Super Effective attacks agaisnt it my only bet is to destroy it with Fire Blast from Heatran or try and 2HKO with Gross' Meteor Mash.
Vaporeon- Celebi and Gengar can do it but they have to be careful because Ice Beam and Surf hurt.
Umbreon- Gengar destroys it with Focus Blast.
Lanturn- This thing doesn't like my team at all.
Forrestress- Heatran, Garchomp and especially Gyarados love this thing.
Gliscor- Celebi walks all over Gliscor even with an Aerial Ace.
Steelix- Another Pokemon who should stay away from my team with its low Special Defense.
Skarmory- Ha! Meet Heatran and Gengar.
Donphan- Useless agaisnt Celebi.
Miltank- Sketchy but not an immediate threat.
Ludicolo- Nothing I have is Super Effective so I besta try and get it with Neutral attacks for optimal damage.
Hariyama- Gengar is immune to Cross Chop, Celebi and Gyarados resist it. Watch out for Choice Banders though!
Cradily- Hard to take on but Garchomp can do it very well being resistant to Rock Slide.
Milotic- Ay caramba.
Dusknoir- Meet Gengar and Heatran.
Walrein- No real counter on my team.
The 3 Regis- Hard to take on but Regice meets Fire Blast, as well as Registeel, Regirock is the most troublesome with the Sp.Def boost from Sand Storm.
Empoleon- Gengarrrr.
Bronzong- Meet Heatran.
Spiritomb- Having no weakness and little HP it isnt very hard to exploit its neutrality.
Hippowdown- Meet Celebi, your owner.
Uxie/Mesprit- No real counter I can just hope for the best with Gengar.
Heatran- Garchomp bar, Dragon Pulse.
Cresselia- Gengar. Cressy rarely carries Psychic so neutral damage from this wont bother Gengar too much.
