I think the Landorus-T nerf is fair. Giving it way too many valuable clicks makes it feel unfair for me. Not to mention the fact that gen 9 also has some of the most broken ground things to use over it like Gliscor or Blood Moon.
They will all have to wait and see if the 2nd dlc gives them a second chance with old and new pokemon coming back to fill out the list of would be checks and counters.

No it's not? Tusk has utility LandoT doesn't, but beyond that LandoT has far better defensive utility with the typing and intimidate. There's a reason lando was solidly A rank at the end of Home meta and comfortably enjoying a lot of usage.

Tusks has better typing and coverage, offers a lot more offensive presence and its main attacking move isnt just EQ. It can easily turn into a wallbreaker/set up mon with bulk up, rapid spin and/or protosynthesis.
It also offers more utility thanks to SR, Knock off and rSpin.

What does landorus offer? Ground inmunity? For what? Shitty coverage and a x4 weakness? At this point just slap pair tusks with a bird and call it a day.

It's important to note that the gen 7 OU tier leader believed that having too many suspect tests was detrimental to the metagame so this helps explain why this gen has fewer bans. On the other hand it helps explain why current gen has so many since the concil now has been more open to suspect testing things. In both cases, it isn't the only reason but it has it influences.

Offensively? Perhaps. Defensive? Fuck no. And that defensive value while still providing offensive push is valuable in one slot. Oh yeah and a spikes immunity, which is still amazing to have on a mon. Keeps up momentum with uturn too. And it still provides stealth rock well. Taunt too which shuts down slower hazard setters which is great on lead sets.

This feels like horrible trolling. A x4 weakness that basically doesn't exist because we have no relevant ice attackers and ice coverage is about to drop out of being common. Shitty coverage? Ah yes Ground/Rock coverage is "shitty".

My brother in Christ, what are you smoking? Are you playing DLC2 before everyone else and you're spoiling the new moves or something? Great Tusk does NOT get Spikes. Also no, Landorus has actually a better typing both defensively and offensively (the latter in theory). Defensively Lando offers an immunity to 2 very valuable typings (Ground Immunity for what? Are you serious right now? Do you play the game? And have you heard of Spikes?), and it's only weak to 2 typings, one of which being a 4x weakness to Ice (which does not make a mon bad, just look at fucking Gliscor). Ground-Flying also offers a valuable resistance to Fighting, which is a very common offensive typing, therefore making Lando resist both of Tusk's STABs. Landorus-T also has Intimidate, which is probably one of the best abilities in the game. Tusk on the other hand has 6 weaknesses, two of which are the same as Lando (and with that SpDef I guarantee you ain't surviving a single Ice Beam in the game coming from a decently strong Special mon), and two more in particular being Grass and Fairy, the latter of which is especially important. Now offensively, Lando actually has a better typing still, since Ground-Flying is resisted only by 17 mons (in the entire game) and hits 50% of the metagame supereffectively, while Ground-Fighting is resisted by 155 mons (13%), and hits 43.4% of the metagame supereffectively. Now, the reason why Tusk is better offensively is that it has better coverage with Knock Off (which Lando used to have), Ice Spinner and Play Rough, and it has VERY strong STABs with Headlong Rush and CC. Lando on the other hand lacks an actual Flying STAB move besides Fly, but it could solve this problem with Terablast (although it's true that this isn't optimal), it only has EQ (which is still a good move) and no longer gets Knock Off, but compensates with the presence of a valuable pivoting move in U-turn. Landorus also gets a strong Rock type coverage in Stone Edge, which allows it to hit Flying-types more effectively due to its superior base Attack. For this reason Lando functions as a better Choiced mon, but Tusk is a better potential sweeper between Rapid Spin and Bulk Up (Lando gets SD but can't do anything about its Speed cause, you know, it got nerfed and no longer gets Rock Polish).
I agree that Tusk is the best mon currently, due to the insane nerfs Lando has received, but your post is simply idiotic when you consider the crazy stuff you've written.

As much as I didn't want Scor to be banned, it is obviously a large component of the hazard-stacking metagame that needed something to be shifted in order to progress to resolve it. That said, I do hope (as sort of hinted at the beginning of the Gliscor suspect) that Gholdengo is pretty soon after.

God that council was awful lol. Thank god it isn't like that anymore. The amount of people that wanted suspect tests for things like Magearna, Tapu Lele and Kartana but the leader didn't want "too many bans"

Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. I guess the OU meta is solved with Gliscor gone. I sure am grateful for all those who voted needlessly to ban Gliscor. Thank you! Now, all we have to do is NOT ban Gholdengo, and everything will make sense. Who would have thought that this is how good tiering works?
Why didn't you make actual posts in the suspect thread and convince people to vote DNB? Or better yet, get reqs to vote DNB yourself?

Maybe if you're not good at the game, you should keep your tiering opinions to yourself, or prove that you're good enough so that your opinion holds weight.

Have a great day.

Jesus, a whole essay just to tell me Im right saying Tusks is the overall better mon.

Good one mate
Calling Tusk the better mon wasn't the controversial point so much as saying Lando-T's offerings over Tusk are not relevant which is objectively untrue. Lando's typing alone gives significant longevity in a Spike-centric Meta, which is important for item variety by not locking the mon into Boots as a Pivot or an offensive check: Tusk is really stretching thin as a Rapid Spinner if it uses anything besides HDB for the Spikes it has to remove, which also means no Leftovers to extend itself if using it to take any hits or that it's only gonna get a few attempts to start a sweep before it's in Revenge/Priority range even with its resistance profile.

Well, according to Khu's hints, Dokutaro's ability is basically Shadow Tag for poisoned opponents'.

Not 100% if that's true, but if it is.....oh dear.
not really an "oh dear". all of the other trapping abilities are either indiscriminate, nearly indiscriminate, or targeted at an entire type (and magnet pull isn't even a problem). this, on the other hand, may be stronger when it's active because the opponent is forced to take passive damage, but it's also not guaranteed to actually trap anything in a given match because only one pokemon is guaranteed to always be poisoned (and we just banned it). if you play cleverly enough—swapping between poison-types, steel-types, ghost-types, and garganacl—you can avoid being poisoned/trapped altogether

Imagine if we got gligar to more usage than Lando that would be funny asf

I was doing a clean-up through all my teams, and all of them ever since DLC1 had Gliscor, Moon or Bax. Literally back to the drawing board. I'm not salty that it got banned, it is how it is, and it's probably for the better, but I'm going to miss the scorpion. Keep spiking in Ubers my dude.

Actually yes, this is a bad thing. If I NEED a Tusk on my BO teams, that's not necessarily a sign that Tusk should be banned, but it is a sign of something or the other wrong with the meta. This isn't really an accurate comparison though, because BOs without Tusk were viable whereas Fat without Gliscor rn is unviable.

What I was trying to say is that it doesn't mean Great Tusk in particular is broken.

Except I didnt say they werent relevant, just that Tusk's benefits outweight Lando's. Do you know what an hyperbole is?

Don't temp me. I don't care about being banned. I will start flaming you, kid. Also, you want smoke, battle me. I'm not ducking wreck. Tf?!

honestly, with wish support i could see evio gligar being a legit (though extremely niche) option. it doesn't have its daddy's healing and it's incredibly vulnerable to knock off, but being able to set spikes while being immune to spikes is still a damn good thing to have, and knock off and toxic provide great utility, which is more than lando has going for him. i think eviolite gligar might actually outclass modern lando-t as a purely defensive/utility mon, and with tusk outclassing him as an offensive mon lando finds himself in a really awkward spot still
