[SET COMMENTS]
Thanks to its amazing defenses, good coverage, and useful ablilty in Thick Fat, Mega Venusaur functions as a good physically defensive wall on balance and bulky offense teams, being able to wall targets like Meowscarada, Mega Altaria, and Serperior. It also has a solid offensive presence due to its very high Special Attack, which lets it 3HKO Pokemon like Keldeo and Iron Hands. Sludge Bomb hits the plethora of Grass- and Fairy-types, most notably Serperior, Tapu Fini, Clefable, and Mega Altaria. Earth Power provides coverage against Steel-types, 2HKOing Iron Treads and Excadrill, and it can also be useful to hit targets like Iron Moth, Skeledirge, and Mega Tyranitar. Knock Off can cripple switch-ins like Latios and Chansey, and Giga Drain hits Water- and Ground-types, threatening the likes of Slowbro, Hippowdon, and specially defensive Gastrodon. Leech Seed lets Mega Venusaur passively heal from Pokemon like Blissey. Synthesis can keep Mega Venusaur healthy in the face of entry hazards and heal in front of targets like Serperior that can't damage it heavily. This given EV spread allows Mega Venusaur to outspeed Choice Band Tyranitar. Mega Venusaur, even with its ability, can have a hard time dealing with most Fire-types like Victini, Ceruledge, and Cinderace that can potentially overwhelm it with their boosted attacks, so it appreciate defensive Pokemon like Gastrodon, Tapu Fini, and Skeledirge. Mega Venusaur also has a hard time dealing with special attackers like Alakazam and Choice Specs Hydreigon, making specially defensive teammates like Celesteela and Chansey good teammates. Entry hazard setters like Ting-Lu, Mew, and Iron Treads can appreciate having Mega Venusaur as a teammate, as it can remove Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon like Cinderace. Mega Venusaur is very susceptible to being chipped by entry hazards so it appreciate entry hazard removal options like Excadrill, Salamence, and Tapu Fini. It is also chipped by sand and burns, so Pokemon that can take advantage of Tyranitar and Hippowdon, such as Excadrill, Keldeo, and Hisuian Lilligant, as well as Pokemon immune to burn like Cinderace and Iron Moth make good partners.
