Multifaction Recruitment Mafia - Night 13 (Deadline: 17/01 10:00pm GMT/5:00pm EST)

To all the gays in this game:

The wording of apricity's initial message to 7 straight users indicates an intent to hard collab, specifically where he suggests that they work together like they have the same wincon.

If any of these people got recruited to another faction at some point (inevitable, considering that there were so many of them, and that info roles would circulate their roles among other factions), then up to that point, they would have spent the game sabotaging the game for their final faction. That's not playing to win.

That group of 8 would obviously influence others as well, extending the impact of hard collab. to the entire group of 15+ straights that he speaks of.

This is unhealthy, uncompetitive play that, while mods may not consider illegal, is definitely ruining other gays' experience, including your own.

The straight faction is not going to recruit you. They'll pick from that lot of 15. This is a suggestion that you therefore target the people that apricity has been so kind as to share with the rest of us:

iavh will stay iavh and if you wanna recruit me, don't. I like having fun with my fun support role that I'm not forced to target a certain target with.

Fwiw this is a pretty unfair characterization although I'm sure that this is a "game" post aimed at stirring up trouble amongst the water-aligned.

Playing differently from what you believe to be correct does not automatically "ruin other players' experience" nor is someone "sabotaging" their faction's wincon by aligning with someone without actually being aligned...freelancers can do whatever they want, they aren't a part of a faction. Just because someone didn't do something you liked does not mean they are ruining the game...the whole point of the game is to make decisions that are best for you.

by the logic in this post, any freelancer who voted for hal is PLAYING AGAINST THEIR WIN CON because what if they are recruited to the water faction??? then they just threw! this logic doesn't make any sense. the whole point of this game is that the three factions are fighting for control with each other - of course they are going to make promises and do things to get freelancers on their side. and freelancers might feel it's in their best interest to support one faction in order to get recruited. that's a perfectly valid strategy to pursue too. expecting freelancers to approach the game the same would be very boring.

My unbiased 3rd person perspective is that no one did anything wrong and it was way overboard to react to anything that happened. no one is playing against their win condition and it's too bad that there was this development because I think the game state was going to be really interesting. it's night 2 and 1 person has died. No one was running away with control of the game. honestly, this game state is probably better for the waters in the long run since there's less incentive for the grass and fire to be aiming faction kills at them every night for the next 5-6 cycles. if the grass/fire coalition gets a recruit off into the supposed group of water freelancers, i'm very confident that water alliance probably just falls apart and ultimately harms them what with the info leak that would result.

that said, shit happens. hosting is hard. it's a bummer this went down like it did but that's reality. as a bastion of peace, I am confident we will be able to overcome this and move on and have a great game.

from my based opinion, all of you people should just shut up about what's right and what's wrong.
keep playing the game, don't object.
if you have anything mean to say, write it in a piece of paper and send it to Mongolia, where you feed it to cows. the people will thank you, and you will be less angry about the game, and you will fuss over your travel fees more.
if you see something that doesn't look right on the plane, speak to staff or text the British Transport Police on 61016. see it, say it, sorted. they will run to Mongolia on foot to assist you.
if they don't exist within 30 business days, sue them for a million dollars and not me. iavh does not care whatsoever.
things to do in Mongolia:
-sleep in a bigger tent that usual
-ride horses
-use the cows you are walking around as meat. nobody will find out anyways...
-try horse meat
-feed the paper you are venting in to the animals
have fun!

Killing mechanics reminder: all three factions have a nightly kill. The kills performed by these factions will be noted as burned, drowned, and strangled with grass respectively for identifying the killer.
