I find it curious as well that M2H never took the time to explain why, in a game full of mafia newbies, you don’t vote out the cop early, instead switching to a push on one of the newbies. It lowk reads as mafia-aligned panic because her push flopped

I think ability is a closer metaphor for role than item. I get the Trace flavor for a trad Role cop.

trace copies your ability tho it doesnt just tell you. i feel like something like stealing abilities would make more sense

Nah M2H’s point about Trace and role cop is valid but I’m unsure about how much meaning it has. Trace by itself does what M2H said of identifying the ability when you switch it in, and then during day you just go right back to your pokeball before being switched in again next night to scout lol.

Don’t think it means that much though but it is more coherent game design.

I also don’t remotely see a link between my mon and ability though.

A fairy’s always proactive she’s just being less subtle about it than she usually is, and I think that’s due to gamestate. This is what I was referring to by her not being samey this game
