This

Indeed, flanders game seems in like with last one when he was mason with me.
I died at night 2 mafia I was gonna steal m2hs role but died

in pretty sure laurels early demand for full claim is just his scum meta, he rolled mafia and got a fake claim flavour he thinks can clear him so he's trying to force fake claim to his own "good guy" flavour

I don’t even have a particularly useful town role but I have a role as town

please stop doing this guys PLEASE

you should be holding anything about your claim until like 30 minutes to dl if possible any soft whether your role is good bad, or like context ANYTHING

just hurts town, and helps mafia try solve stuff (I know a fairy is not the worst for that but it's the first instance this game)

smogon town losses a lot, but one of the main reasons that's easy to fix up is more controlled role play imo, you can get lucky or unlucky with reads but keeping more measured role play is something we have control over

tch

##unvote for now, need some time but i'd also love to understand how jalmont aka mr "laurel is town, shout it from the clifftops" has suddenly done a partial 180 on the read and decided that it's a dig for towncred. which i mean, it could be, but then what sparked the initial townread to begin with? because that was after he'd done all that early posting about the mafia fakeclaims and requesting everyone to flavor claim and such

also I agree with a fairy about neon, he has his moments ofc, but if you're trigger happy with the "game throwing" because you are trying to trigger his past trauma into acting as you expect, when he's not actually gamethrowing, rather play the game on an equal level, well please don't do that :)

whats your mon again(maybe you need to know what the mon does)

genisu you're demanding of people's roles, is and will actively hurt town thought this game, I will probably end up voting you if you continue after this warning

I know you're not that experienced yet, but this really isn't helping you or town solve the game beyond general curiosity and open ended speculation that gets us nowhere

it does help mafia a lot more, because they know who is town and who is telling the truth/lying already and can have way more concrete assumptions off claims, plus they can decide who to kill off claims, use role cops etc etc

every time you get someone to share anything on their role, you have hurt town

the ONLY reason we ask for claims EOD when voting, is because we want to not vote out a powerful town role, it's not to help us solve, unless it's late game

the early game "you're suspected claim" gig, is a "we unfortunately have to get you to claim, because you've a good chance of being voted" not a "we need to you to claim to decide to vote you or not", every time we do it, we give mafia a slight, or major assist

if you're ever asking someone to claim, you should always be thinking "this helps mafia, I'm actively doing something mafia wants now", is it worth the price? obviously start of D1 it never is

higher end mafia/scum play, there's strategies of open wolfing and drumming up multiple wagons EOD, to bait claims from multiple town players. for this info, mafia is willing to put themselves out in the open somewhat to force people to claim, and oftentimes the info is so valuable, it's with doing

smogon revival has a bad habit of just giving this incredibly valuable info to mafia for free D1, if the town winrate is to increase a bit, then this is the first step and people juer hage to be comfortable to sit in somewhat unknown for a few days phases (at least)

Day 1.2 Votals
(5) genisu
: M2H, Shane the Shroomish, saberslasher11, StupidFlandrs48, pulsar512b
(2) ImaginaryNeon: ImaginaryNeon, Alice Kazumi
(2) Shane the Shroomish: bluedoom, genisu
(1) Celever: JALMONT

Voteless: a fairy, Celever, Clouds, Duskfall98, HydrogenHydreigon, joey, Laurel

You have 36.5 hours until phase end. With 17 alive, it takes 11 to hammer early.

I can see and understand the scumreads on genisu though, I just have the sinking feeling that he's lhf lynchbait
That's a valid feeling to have, but it'd be even better if you substantiated it by showing us which posts he's made that you think look more villager than mafia which have informed your LHF read. Just saying LHF isn't something I can do anything with on my end other than disagree and say a spade is a spade. So, what's he done that's villagery in your eyes?

idk whether it makes sense to consider genisu's scum team of me/a fairy/neon as serious. might be a little conservative of me tho?
The post where he outed those three reads didn't really seem like a joke to me. What gave you that impression?

this makes the flaw of assuming town == good, mature play when genisu is clearly not very mature. im assuming by your terminology that you are a relatively experienced player based on your use of terminology so you using this approach i find more damning than genisu's tantrum (tho i agree there are reasons to be sus of genisu).
I very much didn't do that. I didn't make any qualitative statements on whether his play was "good" or "bad", and I certainly wouldn't vote someone for "playing badly", I just can't see how his thought process was cohesive. At a minimum, to make progress, we have to assume a few things, one of which is that you're going to at be able to empathize with the thought process of the other humans on the game on an intuitive level, regardless how new they are to the game or not.

##unvote
##vote celever

I see what you’re trying to do
Seems a little shameless and risky for a wolf to argue against mechanical claims like that so early when we don't even have a town core or PoE yet. You're giving his wolf game zero credit by FoSing him ~for~ it, and based on how everyone else has been talking about Celever (giving the impression he is okay as a wolf) I don't see why. If his claim is verifiable and a backup on Smogon worked like that in the past the posts are just NAI.

there's also the reverse of it all where like

you could argue genisu isnt mafia because surely that wasn't coached
i do think genisu would hear out a scum teammate's thoughts and not headfirst into whatever my argument w/ him was
This is an argument with no bottom. If you apply this logic to the entire game, it becomes impossible to vote for anyone who acts scummy, since they'd let themselves be coached instead. It hypothetically is ~a point~ but I don't see why you would weigh it very high instead of just baldly reading the thread and determining alignments that way.

It's also very unlikely that someone would start coaching as soon as RVS. Keep in mind a large portion of the thread had sporadic activity up to that point. What if his partners weren't available or just weren't offering coaching?

Shane's post on explaining why genisu is mafia is pretty scummy tbh
Your last post was that you saw and understood the scumreads on him and considered him LHF. How does that end up with me being scummy for pointing out that some of his posts are votable? If he's LHF, you acknowledge that he's at the very least a bit scummy, right?

TR: Bluedoom Jalmont
Null: fairy HH shane joey
SR:flandrs(idk if this is his meta or not but i dont like it), saber, neon(that role does NOT sound like town), m2h
i think flandrs has been making very suspicious game play and has kinda been pushing everyone, idk if thats his meta though
Maybe tunnel vision, but I consider the second post classically scummy, and the first has townreads just on two people that are writing within his interest and scumreading people that have been argumentative with him.

M2H covered it but I'll explain: genisu is pretty young and not very experienced himself; by virtue of that as either alignment he's going to make a lot of logical inconsistencies. M2H and a fairy have fine cases on him and it doesn't feel opportunistic, however Shane basically dedicated a huge quote block to show why genisu's thought process doesn't check with his actions, but the thing is this would be 100% in line with town play from someone not experienced. Now Shane sounds like he's experienced in mafia so he should know that not every town player plays optimally yet he doubles down on the read and thinks that genisu should've voted differently.

I think what's getting clear in my head here is that the laser focus on genisu while not saying much on the other players is weird
Again, this is an argument with no bottom. At that point, there's not really any way to read a newer player. I disagree that it would be 100% in line with the town play of someone who isn't experienced. Someone who's an inexperienced villager would probably play a lot more simply when they're figuring out the game or maybe not post as much persuasive content or maybe have some misconceptions about how wolves generally act, but expecting them to be flat-out illogical is a wild leap -- humans have a logical thought process for everything they do in life. Up until now, I've seen him do several things that are more aligned with how I'd expect a newer wolf to play.

Reminds me of the MU champs game where the "good" players put me in the POE while putting two wolves in the core. I fought off being the lunch like 4 days a row and by the end I was so obvtown that a 99% mechanically confirmed townie got mislynched instead of me after I begged the 100% confirmed town played to vote for the wolf.

Good times. Gooood times...
Champs games aren't very skilled in general, just because the experience and the skill levels of all the sites competing vary wildly. You often find people in the semifinal who have no clue what they're doing, and the winrate for mafia is like over 80 or 90 percent or something in Champs in the last few years. Playing normal games on MafiaUniverse usually gives you a better experience.
