i'd rather not rehash this again, but no he's not cleared for his action. SB would throw a role like that in the game if it benefit mafia in some way mechanically. i'm townleaning laurel off of the way he handled the soft to me, but i don't like how eager he is to clear himself both through this action and through the kecleon flavor day 1 like lol. it's a bit tougher to distinguish between townie ego and scummy desire to be cleared with him than someone like M2H, where duskfall makes a good point that they're a more evident case of the former
