Alright, thanks :) I always thought that a base stat of 40 meant the same as a double base stat of 20, thanks for the explanation :p One last question though, who came up with base stats? Is it something gamefreak created, or has it been created by the community?

Ah alright. So if 20 base speed means 152 actual speed... it doesn't mean that 40 base speed will be the double of 152? I'm asking because i thought it worked like this :p I hope someone can give me a short explanation on how base stat to actual stat works :)

Alright, i have a question about the way speed is calculated. Small example of my question: Torkoal has 20 base speed and Blaziken has 80 base speed. I used shell smash on my torkoal, and i was able to outspeed my brother's Blaziken. (Both Torkoal and Blaziken have a +speed nature, 31 IV in...

Alright, this may be a very noobish question, but: Does a certain move do the same damage if used twice against the same opponent without any stat changes in those turns? For example: if my +2 special attack Venusaur (2d2 special attck ev) uses sludge bomb on a +0 and 0 special defence ev...

Could someone explain to me why a lightning rod pikachu with extremespeed is banned? Just asking because i'm curious, and i don't understand why it is banned ;)

Does anyone know if there will be elemental punches in pokemon x and y? Heard some things about a dlc that will give us tutors some time, but i'm not sure though. Thanks in advance ;)

Yeah i was thinking about that too, too bad that we can't get the elemental punches in x and y yet. I really love the idea of a physical nidoking... i mean.. physical fits it sooo much better. Oh well, i have a timid sheer force nido and a julloy sheer force nido, when there is some more info...

Alright, a little question about Nidoking and his now 102 base attack stat. I did some calculations and on a 0def/0sp.def target with a neutral nature etc, the special sheer force+life orb set (boltbeam, earthpower etc) still does more dmg than the physical set (elemental punches, poison jab...

The only differences that genders can make are things like into what kind of pokemon they can evolve, for example, you can only get a gallade when your kirlia is male and you use a dawn stone on it. and nidoran male becomes nidoking, nidoran female becomes nidoqueen etc. But as far as i know...

Yeah you've got a point there ;) Some pokemon have unique gender differences, but those pokemon usually have different forms based on the gender, so it's relatively easy to spot Thank you for pointing that out GarchompPit ;)

No, there is absolutely no difference between them stat wise ;) The only reason to worry about genders is your personal preference ;) For example.. i can't stand male gardevoirs :p

I have a goodra myself at the moment, it has hydration, mainly because i can't get gooey yet. The best ability for goodra is gooey imho, since it's base special defence is already so high. The ability makes other players think twice before attacking you with a physical move, because they will...

I recently posted a similar question, it was about Nidoking and his now 102 base attack stat. On a 0def/0sp.def target with a neutral nature etc, the special sheer force+life orb set (boltbeam, earthpower etc) still does more dmg than the physical set (elemental punches, poison jab etc), around...
