Oh, idunno really. I actually think that this was a move that probably had been coming for a while. Like, they do the same kind of thing, "highlighting the newest stuff when it first comes out" in other tournaments, like Pokemon TCG, Yugioh, and Magic.

Well, for VGC 09, absolutely. For 10... noooot so much... 10 is all about 1HKOs mostly. For 11, it's not allowed.
