It your goal is to spy on Marik, how about Venipede attack Snivy?
Venipede will win, but will be badly roughed up. This will allow Ashi to take note of Marik's inner potential and will allow Venepede to evolve at the end of the battle. Marik will then make her his Mini-rival.

I also posted in Star Wars. Malice will present Pulse with a Holocron.
Remember that one cannot tell if a Holocron has been used. Pulse will have to crack the Holocron's secrets for himself.
I will be doing Flashbacks throughout the story.
I guess that I will control a long dead NPC Sith lord. I may actually control many as Malice will have to use Flashbacks to find what he is looking for. -
