  • It's going to adjust your calibrated delay. It helps because by doing this, it will show new numbers for the countdown, and if you keep doing as you were (that's why I said consistency is important), you should be closer to or hit your delay. :)
    Well, first thing I did was up the count on the timer to 10 - 500ms - Visual Aid. I find it a lot easier to get it right like this. Then I started to miss consistently by a certain amount. That's the update part.

    It's more of a practice thing.
    I don't think so, because there's a loading time before the game begins. You could, however try to hit the first time from that part where you pick your games. It might take a little longer to figure out your delay. But try that.
    Hm... My Flash Cart is an Acekard2i, so I don't know much how R4 works... But you could try that SR option and that other with pressing all the buttons.
    Yeah, that's why I said kinda joking, because it didn't matter that much. :P

    Sure. You just have to make sure they're not roaming.
    Yup. Besides the part where you did 2+8=9, yes, you're right. xD

    Then you give the lady the two Pokemon you want to breed and walk around until they get an egg. At this point, you'll save again. After saving, get the egg and hatch to see if you got everything right.
    No, I mean the actual delay. You'll see that the seed is off using that Seed to Timer function. And by how much. The most important aspect of RNGing in 4th gen is hitting your delay.
    I don't think so. As far as I know, repel will work to get rid of those Pokemon with a level lower than that in your first slot. So a lv.39 mon with Shadow Tag or faster than the that move that prevents it from escaping and Baton Pass with Repel would be ideal.
    Btw, if you start noticing you're consistently hitting a certain delay, but it's still off your desired delay, input the delay you're getting in Update delay, and update it. This way, you'll eventually have a personalized calibrated delay.
    Get back at the daycare lady, save again. And try to hit your delay. When you do, you have to notice your delay. I believe you told me is 5, isn't it? You'll need to call Joey twice (advancing the frame from 1 to +4 = 5) and them hand the Pokemon you want to breed together with Ditto to the daycare lady.
    They screw up the frame. Big time. Better to kill them. Don't worry. They respawn when you beat Elite Four.
    First you need to tell me which method are you using. Because they have different approaches. Juggler Irwin is a sub for Professor Elm, if you didn't meet those prereqs. And both of them only tell you three different messages. It's the order of the messages that counts.

    For Professor Elm:
    When he talks about Pokerus - P;
    When he talks about Evolution - E;
    When he talks about Kanto - K.

    For Juggler Irwin:
    When he talks about your mom, how many Pokemon did you got (huge message) - P;
    When he talks about your escapades - E;
    I don't actually remember but there's something with K there - K.

    When you got that info, go to Seed to Time, insert your seed info, make sure it's HGSS and that you have no roaming Pokemon. At the bottom it will show you the Elm/Irwin responses you should get if you hit your seed. If you didn't, use the second part and click generate (Delays -99/+99 and seconds -9/+9) to see how much you missed.
    There are three ways:

    -Call Professor Elm 9 times (can only be done if you had PKRS in a Pokemon and healed it at a PokeCenter and if you reached Kanto);
    -Call Juggler Irwin;
    -Use a AR code that allows you to see the seed. :P
    Exactly!

    And that's why I usually put 55 seconds there. I can't explain why, but it usually gives me more of a comfort zone.
    No. An R4 is a flash cart, as it uses ROMs. Lower the Calibrated delay to 500 and up the calibrated second to 15. So, you'll need to enter the R4, load the game and soft-reset within the game (L+R+Start+Select) when the first counter hits zero.
    Okay, great. Now it's time to use your timer. After leaving the calibrated values in default, make sure you enter the seconds you entered before and your target delay. It will show two numbers. That means there will be two countdowns: one to start the game, one to enter your save. So you'll have to synchronize your button pressing: press the space bar at the same time you set the time in your DS. The countdown will begin. You're using a flash cart or a retail cart?
