1. Don't make an Overpowered character unless it has a MAJOR drawback. Trust me, RP's aren't about making the best character, anyone can do that.
2. Don't hide things from people. If you are planning something in the RP that will have an impact, warn us - be it in your characters thoughts or in some Out of Character post - It makes it easier when the thing happens, because otherwise people will complain and not allow it.
3. Don't take advantage of characters - Just because they think something, doesn't mean your character knows it. It's a tricky thing, but keep yourself detached from your character. Make him surprised about things you already knew about, and make him fall into traps you know are there.

-RP's are not fights! This means that you can work together, you can be the weakest character yet still achieve the goal. The key is to have fun with everyone, not just destroy them and get kicked out of the game.
