I suppose it could, in a sense. They can be attackers, special attackers, bulky, ect. So they both require a little prediction to face, and a wrong prediction can mean a loss in certain circumstances. You're only counting Dragon as a STAB type, not Flying. And also, he has 3 weaknesses.

I'm trying on my FireRed. I just beat Surge, and my only death is Butterfree. I have Gloom to replace it, and I seem to be doing well. Status support really helps you survive.

Well, Mence is powerful, and whether or not he kills seems to be a prediction game. For example, I have my Metagross out. The enemy switches to Mence. I predict his Fire Blast/EQ and switch to Flygon. It's a Fire Blast, and does X amount of damage. I use Outrage and kill. This took out Mence...

Yes, but that's just it. A while ago people were all saying "Mence forces a kill EVERY time" and "You kill with Mence, even without skill". So, just saying.

Well, from MY experiances, Mence is easy. I fought unskilled players using Mence twice. Both sent it in to break my Gengar's sub, and both were 2HKO'd by Shadow Ball. I suppose, on the prediction issue, Substitute can work well.

How AI handles a Poke means NOTHING! I just beat a Magneton with a Skarmory. Does that mean anything? No. The AI was stupid. Sorry if I sound harsh, though...I just come off that way.
