I haven't touched competitive Pokemon in 2 generations, but now with DLC2, this generation looks interesting enough to get back into. I've always been a fan of Rain teams, and they seem pretty viable now after just glancing at some of the new Pokemon and moves like Barraskewda, Urshifu-Water...

Hey Jordy, I loved your Volcarona+Rotom-W team and have been having a lot of success with it. What made you want to swap out Zygarde for Scarf LandoT and change Lele's set to CM?
  4. SM OU LeleGross, 1500 ELO

Thank you for the response! I've been trying out Garchomp, and I really, really like him here. He gives me something solid to lead with when I expect a Pheromosa or Greninja lead, and he secures a revenge kill on all of my threats. I'm still playing around with Magearna, but I think I prefer...
  5. SM OU LeleGross, 1500 ELO

Introduction It may be a little generic, but I wanted to build a team around the Psychic spam of LeleGross. These two Pokemon are defining the metagame right now, and if you want a strong team, these two will be considered by any team builder. It has been a few years since I have posted a...
  6. SM OU Rain team (feat z-Belly Drum Poliwrath)

Extremely similar rain team to what I have been running. I've been switching back and forth between Marowak, Ferro, and Garchomp as my rocker and Koko switchin. Chomp is afraid of HP Ice, but provides tremendous offensive presence. Ferro didn't feel like he was doing enough offensively. I...

A lot of people are playing rain right now, and I think it's good, but it gets walled by Fini and has to really play around Bulu. I've seen teams with both Kingdra and Kabutops, but I have a proposal: Qwilfish. Qwilfish is the only swift swimmer that can punch through Fini, and I think that's...

People have been walling Kingdra and Kabutops with Tapu Fini and Ferrothorn. I was running Waterfall, Stone Edge, Rapid Spin, and Aqua Jet on Kabu, but maybe Low Kick could beat out Ferro. Tapu Fini is a very common counter to Kingdra, and Kabutops has to rely on Stone Miss to beat it and...

How do you feel about replacing Kabutops with Qwilfish on standard rain teams in SM? Not being walled by Bulu, Fini, or Venu seems good.
  11. Pokémon Tapu Koko

How do you guys feel about Thunder/Dazzling Gleam/U-Turn/Brave Bird when using Koko on a rain dance team? Brave Bird could really weaken grass types up a bit to make way for the sweepers. Also, how are you guys feeling about u-turn vs volt switch? Are you getting blocked enough by ground...
  12. Pokémon Alola Ninetales

On Pokemon that don't use physical Attacks, you want to give them 0 Attack IVs (the usual "best" is 31). The reason for this is that, in case you are Confused (the only time you would ever do physical damage), you do as little damage to yourself as possible.

Another question: Why Bonemerang over Earthquake? To break Subs?
  14. Resource Ultra SM OU Bazaar

I love this team. Gyarados and Ninetales have always been two of my favorites, and I'm happy to see a team that uses them together. As somebody that hasn't played ladder much since XY, can you explain why Gyarados is a particularly good sweeper now as opposed to other setup sweepers? Dark...
  15. Metagame Mega Evolution in Sun & Moon

What makes Gyarados better now than last gen? Are not all of his threats available? Or just the fact that prankster doesn't work on him anymore? What makes him particularly good with Aurora veil vs another setup sweeper?
