Thanks for the quick response, and for the suggestion, but i prefer to go the regular route and spend weeks/months trying to get a shiny, rather than take a short cut.

Sorry to ask this here, but i figure since it involves the RNG, its the best place. Does anyone know what the normal shiny odds are for the runners Molt/Zap/Arti in Platinum, is it still 1/8192 or is it higher or lower, the reason i ask is because so many RNG calls are made to create them...

I suppose an easier solution could be to stop a few taps early, and then just get the rest of the eggs and hatch them, that way you can't possibly miss the shiny egg, due to a miscalculation.

Thanks for that, that should help aleviate the minds of some fellow shiny hunters. Also does putting the DS into hibernate mode affect the RNG(has it been looked into at all).

Any chance i could get confirmation of this; If i don't know my SID or anything else, and all i do is breed a japanese ditto with a UK pokemon(any breedable species), are my odds still increased to 1/2048, of hatching a shiny. Thanks.
