  • Hey, I don't think it's worth making a post in the thread, but basically, I don't think we should consider abilities/moves/items the same in terms of ban policy because they're completely different mechanics. If there are other good reasons to ban an ability sure, but banning Conversion shouldn't be the sole justification for banning an ability instead of a move.

    Right, I understand why they shouldn't necessarily be the same. But if we follow your logic with Conversion for Pure Power, don't we end up in the same place? Banning Pure Power would resolve the issue of Meditite being broken and it would certainly avoid any collateral damage. So why not just ban Pure Power instead of Meditite? To my eyes, it looks just as simple as banning Conversion, but maybe I'm wrong about that.

    As far as your comment is concerned, I was throwing that idea out because I think it's backwards to make banning decisions and have those determine the banning policy rather than the other way around. People bring biases into individual banning decisions that wouldn't be as present in a discussion about a banning philosophy

    Meditite likely would not be viable, so banning Pure Power and banning Meditite would have close to equivalent effects
