Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Well I'm still relatively new to the site and since smogon claims to be "the most comprehensive and accurate online resource for competitive Pokémon battling." I would expect their analyses to be up to date (at least in the context of mechanics findings).
That is not the argument we're having. Let me quote Mr.E once again:
While our stance is that Reflect SToss Chansey is a viable set (even could be considered a 2nd standard set) that has certain advantages (as well as disadvantages obviously) over the BoltBeam one. Whether you choose either of...
Maybe not really an underrated set since it's quite popular among some RBY players (even the top ones) but for some reason it's not included in smogon analysis:
Chansey
-Thunder Wave
-Seismic Toss
-Reflect
-Soft-Boiled
Thanks to reflect, this set makes Chansey very good at taking physical...
Gotta add Golduck and Poli then.
Dugtrio can switch easily on Thunder Wave and will usually win with Kadabra 1v1 (both Psychic and EQ are a 2HKO). However with Hypno it's not so easy. It takes hits considerably better and can put Duggy to sleep. In general when you switch on predicted TWave...
Is there really a point to have a CM resttalk Suicune with Hydro Pump? After you use all 8 pp of Hydro Pump (which is quite easy) it is rendered borderline useless (other than pp stalling) as you can see on this replay: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen3randombattle-699245292
I managed to...
I was thinking if I should include Golduck and Poliwrath to CC sections. They were very rarely used but their bulk allow to take some hits from Duggy and set up Amnesia. When wrappers are out they can potentially sweep the rest of the team.
[OVERVIEW]
Dugtrio is the fastest Pokemon in the tier aside from very niche Aerodactyl and Electrode. Thanks to its ground typing it can't be paralysed by Thunder Wave which is the most reliable and common method of paralysing. 80 attack is kind a mediocre, but good enough to deal with Pokemon...
You might add that Golbat has 4x resistance not only to fighting, but to grass and bug as well. However I don't know how prominent are attacking moves of these types in this format.
I updated the analysis:
Added paragraph about Kadabra as a lead in "UT".
Mentioning toxic is down to 1 sentence in ""OO".
Added paragraph on Gyara and Nite in "CC".
