I have concluded that one of the better tera typings for this Pokémon is Poison, since you don't sacrifice the fairy resistance and poison immunity and you are able to wall a majority of the common Iron Valiant sets. At the end of the day the need for using your tera on Orthworm really depends...

You mean Chansey, cause Blissey with rocks is ass. No, I don't think it is entirely outclassed, mainly as a Heatran check. Blissey loses to Magma Storm trapper Tran especially cause Taunt prevents port, while Pert can ofc kill it. I don't think you rly need full sp Def to beat Tran entirely...

It is the same mechanic, only Gmax applies to mons like Garbodor and Zard, not any of the ubers. My question is just could we maybe see if this Gmaxes are a problem is we get rid of all Dmax except those ones.
