A lot of people do run the obligatory stab, however to really maximise the effectiveness an offensive move combination of Ice Beam/Flamethrower/Giga Drain really works well. Straight up the amount of things that can beat Genesect is a lot lower than if you throw Bug Buzz over one of those moves...
