Ah shit, uhh gimme a second
"AAA is opening up fulls after a fucking eternity, come grab them while they're hot! You can find the Reservation Spreadsheet here, which you won't need cause the only Pokémon available currently is Latios."
teamdump will probably come later in the relevant metagame thread soon:tm: but for now -
i was really really fucking shocked when i went for 8.5k and i'm not sure my performance entirely warranted it, but i had a ton of fun in any case our team went 3-2 in the uu slot, so i'm relatively happy with the season. anyway shoutouts
a fairy thanks for drafting me and putting together an awesome team! it wasn't to be but at least we got one win - thanks for the fun time
Velcroc the dude - you put in work in that ubers slot and on top of that was always around to give me ideas and mocks in my own. you were worth every bit and more of the 3k fairy spent on you
SammyCe123 the other dude - thanks for helping me out in uu a fair bit, and insane work in sv overall
teamoRL thanks for stepping in and winning when i wasn't comfortable playing, it was a joy building for yous (or well for RL, thanks teamo for coming in stealing my mg lucario build and proceeding to not use lucario until the very end of the game)
Gambit_Gamin holy smokes. you never stopped giving advice to our team and you really deserved that win (racool tricked you into using the unviable gengar :grr:). i hope i'll see you perform well in the next edition
cat I know you're pretty burnt out in general from mons but thanks for being a great support to the entire team and basically being fairy's co - sorry i couldn't get the most out of your webs team at the start of the season, I definitely wasn't playing well that game\
Maybca☆〜ゝ。∂ you're a much better player than your record suggests - go smack em in UMPL, you're the goat
Career Ended came in and started clicking - what a beast. gl in circuit champs!
damflame 3 your record is also not a reflection on your skill - i hope we team again in the future m8
SuloFadedCharm admittedly i did not see much of yous because i was busy yapping in the uu channel and not doing much else, but thanks for sticking around even through the lack of game time
oliviaojrpannuGlory thank yous for the various tests I played throughout the tour! uu is kinda underexplored and i think i really just liked theorymonning and playing a tier with no previous play
TDLoriat thanks for being the first aaauu player and getting this whole show off the ground - banded ogerpon viable raaah
Slither Wing stinks (yes i fell for the link above)
I'll probably be taking a break from mons after this tour finishes and a few other tours (like inheritour and the upcoming uuxom pl) so thanks everyone for being incredible people, especially the oms comm who i've interacted with non-stop for like 2 years now (lol i feel old)
final thoughts:
if there's been one thing that i've learnt from this tour
Post AAAPL mini teamdump (click weeks for the replay, pokemon sprites for the teams) W1 vs Glory For W1 i built another very offensive team in my same style i had following ompl including my favorite built (team) of that tour. We also gentlemanned to no dnite for this week. Specs zapdos is drugs so its just a basic offense core surrounding it. The moon should def be scarf.
Since Glory knew my tendencies i just got cteamed by scarf Meowscarada which is always a...
mini aaa ubers teamdump, GIGANTIC shoutouts to DeepFriedMagikarp since they basically built all these teams lol, also shoutouts to LordBoxAM for their help in testing and building.
w1
- DAMN.
i think this team is honestly pretty good. lack of a ground is very rough into mirai but with scales ndm its playable imo. other than that youre SUPER fine into basically every phys guy with fc wisp water. this mon is stupid broken btw use it more lmao, we love furscales setup. gigas is also disgusting and i think tina is pretty underexplored as of now. the mirai here is important, it dodges an ohko from lo psycho boost from deoa iirc. ran it on every boots mirai from here on out. i think this team wouldve won if i didnt play absolutely horrendously lmao
w2
- SIX BLACK HEAVENS GUNS
two things will be consistent from hereon: furscales cm arc and miraidon. i really like sor cb ndm personally, steel/psychic/knock is pretty hard to switch into when your fcs get Fucking Disintegrated. mirai here is twave (and the wrong spread lmao) for speed control on stuff like random steelceus setting up on the guys. corviknight is INCREDIBLE in this tier and absolutely deserves the hype, sus into overheat ray but demolishes stuff like dd ndm and especially gigas so well. put in tons of work this week since opp brought a phys groundy alongside an overheat-less ray. ogre was a bit of a last minute addition but i feel it really rounds out the team. i will admit that this shit just insta loses to korai though lmao
w3
- good kid, m.A.A.d city
i like this team quite a bit. first time using deo-a in the tour surprisingly, my god this mon just makes the most ridiculous comebacks sometimes, evs are to outspeed +1 ndm always. corv is back with basically the exact same set as before and i wouldnt have it any other way. hadron ndw hits STUPID hard with some really disgusting calcs but it can be pretty awkward into gigas structures, hence why corv is here. groundy is the main star here imo, you dont need any spdef invest so you can go FULL into modest almost max spatk and hit stupid hard with +1 eterrain tbolt into hooh and whatnot. very scary mon, should be used more imo. i played this week quite sloppily but i got bailed anyways so /shrug
w4
- Melty Blood
shades of w1 with mirai water hooh tina-o, but executed very differently imo. scarf mirai is super good in this tier and should be explored more imo, being able to run modest on this guy is INSANE and you can revenge anything and everything bar espeed deo. speaking of which, its also here as a cteam for non-espeed deo, though it (hopefully) shouldnt come down to that with scales hooh being a beast(takes 40 from protean tbolt lmao). debris tina was not good here im sorry to say, debris just kinda sucks in this tier tbh but the etern bring from opp did not help things in the slightest. prob couldve won pretty handily but played sloppy and lost, so not much to do there
had to sub out for w5 but built some jank ph ape semistall that prob wouldnt have worked anyways lol. sorry for general lack of competence this tour honchkrows, i swear i got some cooking next year tho. i could talk about my general thoughts on aaa ubers rn but its prob best to just talk about that on disc so ill prob do that later. gl to everyone else left in the tour tho, def gonna be keeping up with other ubers matches at least
With the talonflames out of AAAPL this season, I thought I would post some teams for AAA Ubers and give some shoutouts. This post has been on the back burner for a while and AAA Ubers stuff is technically supposed to be posted in the OMM Megathread (), so I have been delayed with this post.
Shout out a fairy for drafting me twice in back-back tours, SammyCe123 for telling a fairy to draft me, cat for co-managing and team prep, Gambit_Gamin and BoingK for their support, and FadedCharm for covering me and helping me with prep in the last week. Also, shout out to my fellow teammates Maybca☆〜ゝ。∂, damflame 3, RL, Career Ended, and Sulo (don't want to ping a retired guy).
I built this team while trying to get familiar with the metagame. I initially leaned towards a duo of Pixiekiller and set up Miraidon with FC and Parabolic Charge. I changed Miraidon to Scarf to help as a pivot after Nat pointed out that it would not work. Fur Coat NDM was my way of dealing with opposing NDM (fun fact: didn't work). Scales Etern and Regenvest Magearna were 2 special defensive pivots I tried since the meta leaned specially offensive. Ho-oh was a secondary NDM check and a physically bulky guy attacker.
I didn't account for CM Arceus carrying magic bounce so I probably would change Toxic > Toxic Spikes or Dtail to help w/ that. Maybe Earth Eater on NDM and/or Will O' Wisp on Ho-Oh? I think those changes would be something I'd implement if I could go back in time.
Week 2: vs CODENAME CAT (L)
I Pivoted to a more offensive archetype with the week 1 loss. Screens is a cool strat in AAA Ubers since it augments a lot of dangerous mons here. Put together a bunch of powerful attackers while taking care not to lose to common threats like Miraidon (hence Ice Scales NDM and Arceus-Ground). Unburden Eternatus was an idea I took from Vertigo while SOR Caly-Ice was something I wanted to try out during week 1 tests. Rayquaza is there for priority.
I think I had the tools to win this MU but the meteor beam miss and the Calyrex SD play set me back this game. Looking back, I'd run Overheat Rayquza over a pure SD set to lure Corv. The team thuds into that mon otherwise.
Week 3:
Faded took over and Nat built the team Faded used as I was AWOL that week due to IRL stuff. Destiny Bond Gira-O (even sans Prankster) is a cool tech tho!
Week 4: vs Dreepy (W)
I took a more systematic approach this week and it paid off. Corviknight is a petty potent mon here, but I fitted mine with Ability Shield since I don't see a lot of Knock-Off spammers in this tier + I wanted to be safe vs NDM. Supplementing that is PHeal Groudon who's job is to act as a secondary against stuff like Zacian-Crowned and denying Mirai free volt switch turns. Arceus Fairy and KyuB were a nice offensive core since both wear down each other's checks. Finally, I agonized over the last slot: I wanted something that could beat Calm Minders reliably (specifically Arceus). Dialga and Muk-A were on the shortlist for this role. I picked Dialga bc it was far less passive, but either option worked this week.
The team worked wonders but I had luck and methodical plays on my side. Ability Shield Corv was especially helpful in this MU as it shut down Groundceus and NDM.
Week 5: vs PrimalKyogre (W)
Webs + Kyurem-White was the core I started with. Webs looked good into the scout and since we were out, I wanted to goof around a little bit. I was considering bringing Dpult as per Racool's wishes, but I really, really liked Palkia-O here. Went with Mixed SD Ray here since all I needed Ray to do was click the magic blue button and lure Corv for the team. NDM was Balloon and Unburden bc that was the set I felt punished Pixiekiller the best - although WBB was a pretty good option here. I would probably drop Stone Edge for Photon Geyser if I had to change the team. Fur Coat Arceus Fairy so I don't lose to any random physical attacker not named NDM with opposing Ray being a big factor. Initially had MGLO Psych Up Ho-Oh for the CM Arceus MU but I went with KyuB (as per Nat's suggestion) since that mon has the touch of death. Probably was the right call since Ho-Oh wouldn't do much vs Arceus Water (which is what Primal brought).
The match went well. I prepped for HO and I was pleasantly surprised my team did well against a completely different archetype. Palkia did get the crit, but I was willing to play hax for hax with crits and paras the moment fairy-ceus got thunder waved.
Overall, I enjoyed this tier. Quite tricky to learn, but I could get a hang of it by weeks 2-3. I think there's a significant degree of centralisation especially around NDM and Miraidon which might turn off a few people. However, I think it's, at the very least, better than regular SV Ubers and more intuitive than some other Ubers tiers.
Basically just a redux of the team I used for OMPL finals, except this time with double fairy because that seemed like a cool idea to use. Specs Prim is a very fun mon to use.
Week 1 - nat screens vs crowcrumbs (L)
This team is theoretically very good - the removal in this tier is not great, and the only mons that are easily Webs-immune are the genies and Levitate Dogi. However, I suck ass and played this game ass
Week 2 - Band Zarude Balance vs ojr (W)
As soon as I got into the right headspace and started building "balance" I really started to enjoy the tier - the idea behind this team was that Zarude's Grassy Terrain is super good, supporting the defensive structure of the team from Earthquake and therefore allowing Dogi to run Intim and compress a Zarude and Terrak check in one. Zarude also does stupid damage. Archaludon is also stupid (I think it's like top 5 in the tier) and DesoLando is stronk. Lanturn was an odd choice, but I wanted my matchup to be solid into Archaludon + Inteleon + Thundurus, and Lanturn swaps in and always takes a hit and pivots out. I was really happy with this find! Oh yeah, and don't ask me what the Archaludon EV's do. I've forgotten.
Then the matchup went to shit, ojr started setting up the Enamorus, got greedy, and then promptly forgot how to deal with Archaludon as it started murdering everything. Warra win (bowser bike supremacy raah)
Week 3 - sammy cb gzap vs olivia (L)
It came to me in a dream - Long Reach Gapdos! Everyone was coping around this fucker with Fluffy checks, and Long Reach gets past this and allows Gapdos to nuke any mon in the tier. Long Reach is superior to Moldy since a) it also gets around contact bullshit like Helmet and Flame Body, b) it doesn't announce itself, c) you're not looking to get around immunity abilities, so Long Reach has no consistency issues compared to Moldy. Sammy took this idea and ran and we ended up with this neat balance - Gapdos is supported offensively by Talonflame and Regieleki, which pivot around forever. Mew is secretly borked, and Lando pivots as well. Okidogi is the momentum sink of the team but is necessary to have a hard Terrak/Zarude stop.
The matchup was definitely winnable - I threw turn two though when I tricked the opposing Regi with the Mew, and then again when I switched my GZap out of the Cress and allowed it to setup. Regrets that I couldn't give this team a win when it was so potent and strong, and apologies to Sammy for that :(
Week 4 - lucario balance v6 teamo vs pannu (W)
My Magnum Opus - Lucario came to me in a dream after my Week 1 game, and I have too many iterations of the team - this is the one I settled on. This was my first Melo and Thundurus usage - Melo is kinda mid but Thundurus is probably the best mon in the tier as of rn. Zarude also runs Petal Blizzard here since it is non-contact and therefore smacks Fluffy guys (relevant in the game I think). Lucario was a beautiful set though - Steel Beam kills all the physical walls, CC murders all the special walls, Sub beats passive guys, and ESpeed picks off frailer targets.
And then I got busy and couldn't play, teamo piloted ably (and removed my epic Coldplay nicknames :/). Dogi and Zarude both showed their power, and then proceeded to throw my precious Lucario away at the end. Not happy :/
Week 5 - shinylocked balance v2 RL vs pannu (W)
The bans forced me to shake up my building patterns, in combination with my overreliance on Dogi for a Terrakion counter I forced myself to build from scratch this week. Fortunately, I had excellent ideas on which to build - Archaludon looked extremely good into pannu's scout, and then we slapped a Banded Ogerpon on for good measure, since it murders everything - it beats Fluffy guys cus Tinted Cudgel, and then it smacks Archaludon with Superpower. Slap a Regi for fast pivoting, and we were pretty golden. Tinkaton was the team's bandaid against Thundy and Archaludon, Milotic was a dude to check Hydreigon which we were pretty scared of, and Chesnaught was our new Terrakion check, as well as beating Sneasel which had seen a recent uptick in usage.
Unfortunately, pannu nerded out and brought HO. Despite my incapacity to play against HO, my teams aren't weak against them and RL understood the assignment - very calm, very composed, very demure. Don't HO my teammates.
Bonus round
- This one's for Racool, I built this well before AAAUU was even being considered for AAAPL, so I edited it around. Hoopa is fantastic speed control and offense in one, Lando-T is a great progress maker, and Thundurus is the guy.
- Simple in context - get Terrakion and Thundurus and smack things, hard. What does the Landorus do, you may ask? EVs: 84 HP / 136 SpA / 52 SpD / 236 Spe Modest Nature help I am becoming a draft main
- The idea was very simple - Bandorus is a very funny guy (DesoLando is likely better), and with Hydrei and Thundurus formes a nice little offensive core. I tried Regen Blastoise I did not like it, didn't check anything I wanted to.
Thoughts on the meta
Meta is still very much in its infancy, and I think everyone who's played the metagame will have different ideas on what's good. However, few Pokemon that I wanted to highlight that came up again and again in my building -
Welcome back genie of the healthy metagame! This guy is currently king with his PrimSea set imo, SFLO can definitely see play too.
Both super good too - bring a ton of utility to the table.
I personally think this mon is top 5 - it just sits in front of Pokemon and accumulates boosts - it'll always take multiple neutral hits from defensive pieces too, letting it do ridiculous work and trading against Pokemon it has no right to do so.
probably not good but has a special place in my heart for being a massive middle finger to Thundy/Intel/Arch
No one's using him a ton cus Thundurus is so good, but Regieleki is secretly broken - probably the best "spinner" in the tier, and outputs a ton of pressure on the opposing team.
probably the best regenvesters - if they weren't so helpless in front of all the special attackers in question :/
your best bets at catch all physical checks. is probably on the rise too now that Zarude is gone
Welcome back Ogerpon! I rmr using this thing against TD before anyone else was playing the metagame and I'm glad it's decently positioned in the metagame with Zarude gone.
Dump
I helped with the teams in the earlier weeks but didn't actually like build them so I'll leave them to be dumped by teammates if they want. Dumping the rest of my builder and other metagame stuff in the mashup thread here since that seems to be where we dump those.
Two teams I used in AAAPL are in the post thread here.
Built these teams when the tier first started gaining traction I think around when it was voted to be included. Idt any of these that are still legal following MagPull ban are like any good in the meta but dumping them for completion.
- GaG Arc Stack
Initial thought was removal is even worse in Ubers and so stack seems strong and so does superman. Vanilla Gliscor was...
W5 - Geysers - Tech KyuB Balance - V1 - V2
Main idea was to enable Pixiceus, which had a solid matchup into what they have brought. 3A gives up recovery but I think is necessary to hit as many things as possible. For support, Tech KyuB has the capability to trade down checks like FC mons to one hp at worst, and it also synergizes with Bounce Mandibuzz which I wanted as a pivot against Spikes Groudon sets, and unlike Corv it doesn't get screwed by Smack Down on switch. V1 - originally thought EE NDM to help with Groundceus, Scales Ho-oh blankets stuff like Deo, and Gigas for some general soft checking and paraing FCs, with NDM changed to FC for better Gigas mu as Groundceus is less problematic with Kyub. V2 - didn't like how that went so considered the Garg which checks Gigas and Ray, and then a bulkier PH Don to help check NDM if necessary.
Game was just KyuB was able to setup and he maybe didn't realize how much it deals to "checks" like solg so everything died. KyuB moment.
Playoffs - PrimalKyogre - FC Eleceus Balance
FC Eleceus is great to check Ray and Gigas as it is immune to Thunder Wave, and can also check Hooh. Did not realize initially that it also has a crushing mu into a lot of webs structures as Ribombee lets it setup for free with the Stun Spore immunity. EE NDM naturally fits to check Grounds that Eleceus struggles with. Originally had a RegenVest Hamurott which provides a ton of utility at the cost of shit stats but it was pretty useless in tests so changed it to Gambit to help with pressure on Eleceus. Raging Bolt is a premium breaker that I don't remember why I added, and Deo provides additional power and speed control. Lastly Ho-Oh checks Deo and Mirai.
Eleceus had an instawin matchup but got crit and then Occa Gambit also got crit although it was hard at that point already with webs up.
Betticus IVIvar57 thanks for drafting me sorry couldn't help that much for most of the tour. Also Betticus be talking about burnt out while building team for every SV slot like ?? look at this flex "as there are too many to go in depth about individually." (no but seriously insane work you put out throughout the tour)
@ rest of team very cool people to talk to and interact with. DeepFriedMagikarpGloryCodename C.A.TGeysers Ubers people played for tests and stuff DeepFriedMagikarp fellow vc lurker
@ anyone i missed
In general, I think this meta is a lot of fun and reasonably balanced. You definitely feel a lack of glues when building and stuff like moltres/empo being in the tier would be a huge boon but its in a pretty solid spot as is. Selfishly, I did enjoy it significantly less than ORAS last year but that tier is quite broken and would need an exertive amount of effort to get back on track so I understand why it was cut.
Obviously proud to have put up the best record in the tier with ppl bolding against me every week, even if its for a mickey tier in a mickey tour. Huge thanks to Potatochan and Racool for all the tests/guidance. Next year I want to lose in finals and have the rest of the cerus win ^_^
we managed to win this tour with PANNU as a starter EVERY WEEK and to all managers on this site pls do not ever draft pannu again if you don't want to die from an heart attack, he played ALL his games SO bad and choked a winning position SO MANY TIMES I don't even know why we didn't bench him (in fact, I do, it's because Atha is a bad manager, fuck him)
I also finished in positive which is a massive steal, and the final wasn't suuuper clean but well it's the game we play, well played to the Ceruledges and shoutout to OM for being a really nice person and an amazing manager that always makes finals somehow??? you're just goated
I end this tour with a mixed feeling ; I really did not enjoy the beginning, you could say bc I was losing but mainly bc I was reusing teams which felt unfun (well I brought a fun team vs Dragonillis because we already won the week, but otherwise I was bringing a lazy reuse) and well I used to enjoy SS AAA more than SV but ngl playing it back hits hard, I stopped playing with Magic Bounce and Genesect still legal (maybe even Unburden I don't remember) so all my old teams were illegal or suboptimal and idk I really didn't enjoy that 'new' meta but I'm not sure the old was better actually lol. I built my own teams for week 4, 5, and semis, but failed to finish my finals builds bc everything felt bad and maybe that was tunnelvision on my part, trying to do too many things at once, but I really hated the meta on that last week. Fortunately Siamato saved me and built me a boring balance in Siamato's style but at least that was a bit different from what I've brought so far, and he also gave me his luck apparently kek
anyway, i'll drop my teams if anyone cares, so at least next year when aaapl happens you can steal some if you wish
- - - - - vs hayedenn
I hadn't play SS for a thousand years, I told atha "dw I will do test games to learn the meta again", I didn't do it, I loaded some Lele team I had, atha told me to change tinted lele for SFLO and that's part of the reason he's the worst manager of all time, I don't think I played well but the MU was tough too, happens
- - - - - vs Dragonillis
I tried the whole week to build something with no hazard removal cuz hazard removal is so bad in this tier (pls give us a good spinner) with double MGLO but eh that was just bad (maybe bc my MGLO were thundurus and darm-g lol), I also tried building an offense with scarf adapt tinted (which actually owned Siamato in tests fwiw), decided to bring it after we won the week with some changes (they removed my terrak I hate them), and lost cuz uhn that team is not so good
- - - - - vs Potatochan
pretty much the same than W1, I ended up stealing an old team that was in the ss chan of the previous OMPL, changed a volcarona for a second regen slot following Siamato's advices, got a weird MU, a bad burn, played bad my toxic w/ Bliss, and lost again
- - - - - vs Andyboy
after my loss vs Potatochan I decided that I did not care of what atha was saying and I was going to bring stuff I like even if he didn't like it, so I made this. Probably the coolest team I built this tour, mainly bc there is a rotom-heat (all my teams are losing to talonflame xd) but scarf zarude and togekiss are also really cool mons. this team has flaws but zarude and togekiss makes it playable, I never should've won my game though but Andy gave his Cinderace so Kiss could clean by avoiding paras
- - - - - vs Damflame
We were already qualified and I could've used something funnier instead of bliss vapo corv I agree but I decided that sticky in fat teams was something I wanted to test, and also Vaporeon is a broken mon, and also this was double MGLO double Regen so it can't be bad, right ? Once again I was in a pretty bad spot but I managed to heal Corviknight and Volcanion is such a broken mon that it carried me pretty hard
- - - - - vs hayedenn
ok now I was tryharding and I wasn't going to lose to the massive fraud that is hayedenn TWICE. Inteleon is broken, spikes are broken and basically deletes its checks, hayedenn already farmed me with MG Bliss so by a theorem I invented they weren't gonna reuse it vs me = scarf Inteleon the goat. Man I'm so mad at this game, my prep was good and I did play relatively well (at least considered to the awful level I had until then), I just forgot like 3 times in the game that hayedenn's fucking landorus was slow as fuck and did that final u-turn play with Mandi which was just ????????? massive throw i stg it took me 3h to sleep that night bc I kept replaying that turn in my head even though i won. Also for some reason both flix and Siamato thought the last turn was a 50-50 and that I won it by not knowing my mechanics, but no staying in with mandi was just 100% win I'm just that bad
- - - - - vs Nuxl
spent the whole week on this https://pokepast.es/ec241edf91426c7f which was actually heat (and also bad) and idk all the talonflame teams I had were horrible fat teams that were also losing to Talonflame (which i didn't want bc my teams are generally p weak to talon), all my zygarde teams were either dumb XxLazzerpenguinxX teams with 3 mons banned in it or a prep for luisin 2 years ago with Genesect and Bounce so I said fuck it, couldn't make a good team with those ideas, this latias is also hella bad, and then Siamato came, built me 2 teams, one of them was bad, i took the other, it won. Did I play horribly that game too ? Definitely, and my play level during the tournament was definitely underwhelming, but at least I didn't disappear during the last 2 weeks like my bastard of co-manager bc he's working or something...
anyway, moving to my shoutouts now
Outside of the horrible tier I played and the horrible level I showed, that was actually a fun tour. I think including UU and Ubers was a really good idea (way better than old gens imo) even though I think UU tiering should be reworked (Siamato complained about Slither Wing not being UU like 10 times and he's kinda right), my team was also very nice and I'm glad we could make the back-to-back, even though half of us are massive frauds
Atha I'm not gl you're an awful player, manager, and friend, you record doesn't reflect your skill AT ALL, you played in slot 2 to let ghostlike deal with the stronger players, you got bailed a LOT of time, you prepped so badly too and this is really sad that Kaif couldn't win the finals game bc the prep deserved it. You also did like ONE test game with me in SS throughout the whole tour, I really hate you and I hope I never team up with you again
O1V7O2X9O MY FUCKING GOAT duuuude atha or siamato told you he faced you on the ladder and you were good, the 3K steal during the draft was perfect and then you clutched it so many times really the best player of this team. I hope you enjoyed that tour, I really appreciated the energy you put every week both before and after the game to analyse your mistakes etc, ngl you've been a huge help and we prob wouldn't have won the tour without your skill, wp goat
pannu you don't deserve anything, I hope I never teamup with you again. you're a degenerate, you click way too much. also stop genshin. I still like you buddy, but idk how you went POSITIVE bruh such a massive fraud. love you tho
PrimalKyogre what a lucky run you had LOL, wish you could've more time to test but eh you got a solid 3-3 and a clutch win in semis, goat
also appreciated your support during some of my games lol that was very nice
matteCyril tbh sorry we couldn't make you play more, we should've let you guys in during week 5 but we're both bad managers so we forgot, thanks for being there though, it was always a pleasure to see matte's messages in UU or SV when everyone was dead afk and a good MDR always spread positivity, ty and I hope you'll get to play more cuz you're nice guys
Tranquility wish you all the best, np you couldn't help us much this year but you're an amazing builder and I'm sure you'll be a beast when you comeback - if that's your wish - until then, we got you a title, better than nothing right
biggest shoutout goes for Siamato though, we wouldn't even have reach the playoffs without you, I know you helped a lot (way more than you wanted) and it sometimes was a burden, bro built in UU, helped in Ubers, carried in SV, basically made my team for finals in SS (and played a lot of test games with me unlike atha), you're really such a cool presence to have in a chat, both with your comments but also with your person, I'm pretty sure you know how much I appreciate you and I've told you multiple times but you're really special and even without your help I would've been really glad to have you in the teamcord, always nice to speak with you, you're just a massive goat and you don't get enough recognition
je t'aime mon frère (et pas toi Atha dégage)
shoutouts to ppl that tested with me too, aka Dragonillis, and hayedenn for losing to me in semis (also giving me a team 1h before my game for nothing cuz I didn't use it lol)
ghostlike I troll you a lot and memed you etc but I will do this once here and never again, you're actually a really nice person and I always enjoy talking with you, you have some cracked ideas and you shouldn't let atha stop you from bringing it, should've brought grassy HO every week ngl. You're a cracked player and a cracked person, your record doesn't reflect how skilled you are, and most importantly, how nice you are, and I do not regret any of the 25k or whatever we spent you, it was worth every single penny
do not hesitate to betray APAC and help us for wcup though, that would be appreciated
basically atha asking what is the team and if I lost AFTER I LITERALLY POSTED MY WIN IN THE THREAD BRO FUCK YOU BE A USEFUL MANAGER FOR ONCE
literal bullying from mid players fuck y'all (mainly atha and ghostlike, also pannu cuz he sucks)
now that aaapl is over i would like to apologize to my teammates as well as the ceruls for my conduct. after losing i said some very unsportmanlike things and lost my temper, and idt anyone deserved to see me like that. i was also overly harsh towards my teammates at times and one could argue i wasn't the best presence. i regret everything i said, and although i'm upset we weren't able to get farther, i'm still proud with our record and i think we did the best we could.
so this isn't super sappy, here are the teams i used for aaapl!
don't have many thoughts of these, tried to look at my opponents scouts and see what they were weak to, and if i was a better player i think it would've worked better (although there's no shame in going 3-2 either lol). i'm also much too lazy to show the mons rn, maybe later, just click on the links.
honestly i'm not sure why people aren't enjoying the meta, this is the most fun i've had with it in a while. i think people are too constricted in their thinking in this tier, you can experiment around with anti-meta breakers and different defensive cores to decent success, but i get why lots of people didn't since they wanna win and the best cores are the best for a reason. i liked a lot of the development that took place this aaapl too; idbp zama got a lot more popular, and i really like its ability to punish standard cores while having direct counterplay (soundproof is bad do not kid yourself). i've been seeing people say it's broken but i just think we haven't gotten around to building with it in mind beyond using pecha, 4th moveslot is too crowded between stedge/hslam/crunch and you gotta choose what you want to beat. plus a lot of the games i've seen it win are when people use only 1 special attacker and don't try to spread out their outs to zama (e.g my win vs ivar consisted of me luring in the only check with tusk and then killing it later for the sweep; idt this is particularly broken, it's just how ho works and i was rewarded for smart building/ivar was punished for risky play, although this is just one example and admittedly flawed). but enough about zama, i also liked the rise of itemless intim pecha to beat cerul, spdef treads to beat zappy and do other stuff treads does, desoland tres to...uh actually i think this mon kinda sucks but it's still cool adaptation that won a lot. above all, i feel like the better player does truly win almost all the time, and i find this meta to be extremely competitive and rewarding as a result. i think this meta has more room to grow and i'm excited to see where it goes during and after omwc!
Agreed! Certain defensive pokemon are so important it becomes fun to try and lure or punish them. Like Hydrapple punishing corv+pert or corv+mana+ground cores etc.
