wardlow was never having bangers in the ring which is premiered in AEW, but he also got terrible injury luck

loved the triple threat (except aspects of the finish) and the opening match. i did not really enjoy the retirement match and bryan felt overshadowed in the post-match angle which sucks. still a good ppv with no real stinkers, just wish the main event was different - i have not enjoyed the moxley vague doomposting angle at all but maybe he can now afford to be a touch more concrete

The Front Man of TMDK Zack Sabre Jr. has finally achieved the big one, The IWGP World Championship!

I'm hopeful that he'll hold on to it for awhile but even if not I'm very happy he was finally able to win it.

I haven't watched wrestling in a while, but I had to see if he would actually win that. I was hoping they would break out the Zimas after the match!

Shame that they got def rebel'd though-

didnt it come out not long ago wwe wasn't reupping on the deal with them (and even had plans to use licensed music)?
def rebel hasnt been good; makes cfo$ seem like a longing memory lol, but being fair i will say that theme wasnt offensive, some definitely feel like ".....just fart in the mic bruh and call it a day cus this song is buns" lol.
idk why they ever stopped working with jim johnston obv now he's older but sheesh.

chris jericho as roh champ again.:psyangry:

dont get me wrong i grew up loving jericho and do think he can still be a valuable commodity even today, but clearly hes stale rn so why do this? it's like he's one of those wrestlers who think people legit being burnt out on ya is "good heat" - it's really not. i think he just needs some time away for people to not be so burnt anymore, the learning tree isn't it.
and the title change seems like the same cheap ploy for heat as it was with beating a fan beloved first time champ in Claudio as well since; well, Mark was that as well. Sure helps build that ROH brand doing that I'm sure.

Tony really gotta do better than this.

Athena's the only thing keeping ROH relevant at this point anyways...

But yeah Tony's really gotta quit his Jericho addiction and honestly I don't see Jericho as a "valuable commodity" outside of maybe a 100% managerial or commentary role. It is just sad to see him 'wrestle' these days.

The fact she's not on AEW tv is criminal. I'm not taking anything away from her ROH run, obv, but jesus christ this girl is a mega talent and you're wasting some prime years here.

(Funny side note I use to tease my lady saying I crushed on her (Athena) cus they have a similar face, she use to get tight till the day I finally told her "Ya know it's because she look a bit like you right?"
shushed her up forever lol)

At some point people will start recognizing Gunther for his mic chops as well.
Cody did well tonight but Gunther ate him. (Maybe not "Ate" but he def hit him with the whole "I say no/your story" analogy
Pure heel-isms (loved it).

Least IMO lol

Troll Gunther is best Gunther. I really love how they've let him show his range on the mic since winning the WHC.

For a while, being on ROH was protecting her from the shoddy booking of main roster AEW women. But now that they've kinda gotten their act together (thanks in large part due to Mariah & Mone coming in), it's time for Athena to come up. And it definitely seems like she'll be dropping to Billie Starkz at Final Battle this time around with a callup soon after if not immediately after.

Highlighted for what it really was.
and dont get me wrong Toni Storm's arch was probably some of the best they've done recently. so they can do stuff right, but saving her frrom booking isn't enough a reason cus it's an admission of guilt as is.
I just really wanna see her shine cus it's the worst hidden secret she's a super talent. Why hide her there?
Let's be honest (and I like all wrestling so no bias) she could be a champ anywhere rn, restricting her to ROH just seems wrong, esp since ya just cut ya man's champs knees out for the second time to give it to Jericho.

Edit: and just Devil's Advocate outside Jayme Hayter who's knocking her off as the next woman up? She's got the promos, the skills, I'm just baffled they restrict her to ROH.
IMO she should beat Mercedes for the TBS title to establish her on AEW.

Right now, I think everything that Andrade El Idolo is doing is gold. Him and Damien Priest are probably some of the best talents they have broadly.
Seth Rollins feuding with Bronson Reed is another feud that has stood out to me recently.

I heard Carlito is going to be getting a big solo push, outside of the judgement day. I am not sure if this is true.
I do not know if Carlito has returned to be more like a supportive role or returned with intentions to compete more regularly as a solo competitor, once again.

Carlito getting a singles push would be weird because he's looked washed in every singles match he's been in so far. His character work has been hilarious, though. If he's booted from the JD, it's probably all over for him IMO. The men need an enforcer but idk who would fit (don't say Drew plz).

Screw Final Boss Rock, I wanna see Secret Boss Cena!
This heel turn was glorious. While it wasn't something I actively predicted, I did notice signs such as Cena saying "best for business" when declaring himself for the chamber. I could only see him or Drew winning the chamber, and with Drew out first, I knew he'd likely win. Him taking advantage of Seth stomping Punk was also a red flag for me, and I pointed out to my dad that Cena is very much an actor right up to the turn himself. His facial expression changing when he hugged Cody was absolute cinema.
I'm so excited for this road to WrestleMania.

its too bad Cena's heel turn will be so short cus he's finally heel but i hope they take as full advantage as they can with the time they have before he inevitably rides into the sunset as the kids fav again.
all that aside i think this is WWE/TKO maximize the funds
i remember talk of cena being ready to go heel in 2012-13 and looking back that mightve save a lot of crap lol

"The Hollywood Ending" match between Mariah May and Toni Storm was a bloody massacre of epic proportions, An awesome way to end one of AEWs greatest feuds and one of the bloodiest matches I've ever seen in a Major American Wrestling company.

"Absolute Cinema" as they say and it fits perfectly for one of the best Women's matches not just of the year but of all time.
Definitely a must watch if you're not squeamish about blood.

A true spectacle worthy of 5 Stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
