This past half year has been honestly crazy. By mid-late 2024 I had grown bored of mons, but vk dragged my ass out of semi-retirement for OUPL, where I helped our team win our second consecutive year. Then directly after OUPL, I was very fortunate to have been drafted in SPL by the Tyrants. My promising starting record of 2-0 unfortunately turned into a disappointing 3-6, of which many of the losses were due to my chokes and misplays. It was frustrating to underperform, but my team was always supportive, provided review, and emphasized the importance of learning from mistakes. It sounds generic and its easy to be cynical, but I really do want to stress the point that learning from past errors is crucial. As disappointing as choking or tunnel-visioning is, it gives insight for future battles as one stands on all the knowledge accumulated. Although I had dipped my toes into a few tour experiences (OLT 2022, WCOP 2023), these were occasional, and I remained overwhelmingly a mostly casual ladder-hero; the Tyrants helped me adjust (and re-adjust) to the Big Prestigious Tour ™ setting, and I thank them for my development to becoming more of a "tour-player". I obviously wish I contributed more in record, but I hope my support was sufficient.

OST started during SPL, and I had a solid run, getting to round 16. There I faced MRP and was eliminated in a 3 game set. I heavily misplayed game 2, and the other games, while better, still had small misplays. Additionally, I did not prep as much as I should have beyond my game 1 team. Regardless, it was an entertaining set, and I was satisfied leaving the tour at that stage. A few days later, I was alerted that MRP was banned and that I was back in the tour, as I was the last opponent he had defeated in OST. I was stoked, as anyone would be in my position, like who's passing up a second chance at this tour lmao #revivalblessing. I made an offhanded remark to a friend about how this would make the trophy less deserved if I won, but he pointed out that there were 3 more rounds left, and that winning from here will be with skill so I should lock in. I began prepping far more seriously and playing way more carefully than I had previously. I also personally wanted to make up to myself the 3-6 SPL record, if I'm being real, and being given an extremely rare second chance also fueled my drive to do my best to win the tour. I won both of the rounds following my revival, and won the subsequent finals as well, securing the trophy. I would like to thank my last three opponents for the great fights. In particular, the semi finals (vs Xrn) and the finals (vs OldSpiceMike) were especially tense and exciting, making for some great games, and I hope my prep and the care I put into my plays were evident. I tried to make use of everything I had learned from the past couple of months, and it fortunately paid off.

It feels truly incredible to win the OST Trophy, especially after my games in the last few weeks and the finals in particular. I am glad that the hard work paid off; however, I couldn't have made it here without support. First and foremost in mention for this run has to be CTC, who sent teams, matchup ideas, reviews of replays, motivating words, and other suggestions. He provided both teams against Xrn, and the stall team against Mike. Other teams I brought in earlier rounds were also often by him. He's legit a visionary, bro has the meta on lock its insane. This run would have been much harder, and perhaps not have come so far, without his help. vk passed me the Deo-Sciz-GhostNite team (built by Mada, so shoutout him as well), and helped me bounce ideas on what to bring. Shaymin Sky was very active in also helping me figure out what to bring, and I thank him for that. Mimikyu Stardust , d18l , and georgiethefirst (<- yo give this guy especially a chance in tours btw), aka our original 2021 OU Room friend group as we run in money team tours: yall listened to my vents, aspirations, and predictions, and helped in prep as well. Always appreciative of the dear support. 3d thank you for rooting for my run and critiquing my misplays, which helped sharpen the plays. Shoutout Rubyblood and vk (both were also my OUPL teammates), myjava , Mada , Plague , blunder, reyscarface, Gilbert arenas, and the rest of the Tyrants, especially the OU division, for helping me improve as a player. Shoutout the Iron Gender community, US West (especially ima and close associate blarghlfarghl), Cosmogs (ADPL), and Blaziken Biryani (OUPL, Dj Breloominati♬ Piyu, latter got me into my first team tour ever back in 2021 lol) for rooting for me. As a OU room mod for several years, I gotta shoutout the room and my fellow staff (I want to note in particular SetsuSetsuna , pastagirl , malahuju), as well as its users, including Faless__ (you in particular were extremely supportive, thank you man), CloudyEJ, Paternozzo, polisci , and volcanionisgood (you also helped prep for some earlier rounds, ty) for their support and rooting for my run. Slowpoke Fan , MangoSteak ,Links , leng loi also deserve mention, always appreciate their kind messages. I can go on but this post has been long enough, so I'd just like to finally thank everyone who supported me and/or rooted for my run. Glad to bring it home o7.
