Rapid Spin + T-Spikes are the only noteworthy qualities I could find for Tentacruel, though I must give significant caution that this set struggles to check many things like CM Keld. The EVs are mixed, with a jump point in SpDef and the rest in PhysDef, coupled with 248 HP to maximize mixed bulk while mitigating rocks damage. Notably, this allows Tentacruel to avoid the KO from an Excadrill without any attack EVs.

Tentacruel's set is designed to capitalize on its unique aspects, namely its ability to both lay Toxic Spikes and use Rapid Spin against hazards. With Acid Spray, it also serves as an OK Clefable check, though Knock Off will prove problematic. As for usage tips, this water type is uniquely unable to check anything, so I find it fits best on unique stall builds seeking to take advantage of its unique movepool while also being able to circumvent this defensive liability.

Goodra @ Assault Vest

With Sap Sipper, Goodra has a unique place in the tier as a perfect Serperior check. Additionally, with its superb SpDef bulk and Dragon typing, it can also hold off demons like Volcarona, Thundurus, and Manaphy. The EVs are relatively standard, with max SpA giving Goodra much needed firepower, so as to not be a passive blob for the offenses that might be interested in using it. Similarly, 240 HP gives it adequate bulk on both defenses, while 16 EVs are slotted into Speed, giving it a tier of 200, just enough to creep the other uninvested base 80s and a fullly invested Adamant Azumarill.

Goodra's set aims to take advantage of its humble base 110 SpA alongside the Assault Vest to serve as an offensive check to many of the elemental threats of the tier. Dragon / Poison / Fire coverage lets it accomplish this to the fullest extent, given that there are not many other options available to it. As for the last slot, Dragon Tail is taken primarily to phase out boosting threats, namely Volcarona, which Goodra might otherwise lose to.

Alakazam-Mega @ Alakazite

Standard Alakazam sets typically consist of Psychic / Focus Blast / Shadow Ball. The fourth slot is usually the most open to interpretation, with Substitute, Calm Mind, Protect, Encore, and Taunt all being great choices. However, this versatile Pokémon has even more tricks available to it. With the HP EVs given to it, Alakazam is able to avoid the 3HKO from Chansey, allowing it to more readily handle it. The Speed EVs let Alakazam reach a tier of 341 pre-mega and 407 after. In the case of the former, Alakazam is able to outspeed everything from the max investment base 100s to Jolly Lopunny (base form). As for the latter, with a tier of 407, it just narrowly runs past Lopunny-Mega, with the remainder of the EVs being put in SpA.

While the EVs are unusual for the regular offensive moveset, this variation greatly enhances Alakazam's ability to handle stall. If the team is able to accept the worsened coverage, such as by finding other ways to meaningfully wear down Metagross, it is in turn able to take advantage of a uniquely threatening stallbreaker. In particular, Alakazam still heavily threatens offense even with less Spe / SpA EVs with its Psychic / Fighting coverage. Although more specific, the added bulk + access to Recover gives Alakazam some breathing room into offense, even if it seldom makes too much of a difference.

Perhaps my new favorite Pokémon for offense, Specs Latias has a lot of compelling aspects that draw me to it. For one, Latias has a solid defensive profile that pairs nicely with its typing, helping to patch common holes for any team. Unlike Latios, in exchange for some SpA power, Latias comes equipped with the phenomenal support of Healing Wish, a tremendous utility for any offensive team. The power difference isn't all too noticeable for me, as Draco Meteor still chunks everything Latios would want to target, such as Slowbro / Zapdos, whilst maintaining the element of surprise; Latias is typically slotted on teams as a defensive Healing Wish bot, giving the Specs set room to surprise a careless opponent.

Healing Wish is mandatory, as it is the only reason one would opt for offensive Latias > Latios. Additionally, Draco Meteor means that Latias possesses real power to back up its Choice Specs. Trick > Defog is due to Latias being an incredibly abusable Defogger, as well as the fact that Specs enables more set up opportunities for Lati's partners. Finally, one of either HP Fire or Psychic is taken in the last slot, allowing Lati to serve as a solid lure. For example, the HP Fire set might find itself a solid partner for an offense team opting for T-Wave + Nasty Plot Thundurus, whereas taking Specs Psychic helps pressure Clefable. Additionally, HP Fire has the incredibly important quality of pressuring Excadrill, keeping it from directly switching into Latias for a spin, as it so often enjoys doing. To clarify, I would recommend this set to be used on builds leaning in the Hyper Offensive direction, as they more greatly appreciate the combination of offensive presence, the utility of Healing Wish, and Latias' unique defensive presence. Unlike regular HO, this sort of structure isn't reliant on suicide leads, increasing the flexibility of the remaining six slots.

There are no shortages of Serperior sets, but I'll link one here that I find a super fun tech for offense teams, that being Yache Berry. The EVs start with HP, with it allowing Serp to avoid a 3HKO from Chansey from full, a useful interaction for teams that appreciate the pressure on the Blob, especially with Taunt. Additionally, 48 Def allows Serperior to survive a CB Knock Off post rocks, allowing it to serve as an incredibly shaky lure. Remaining EVs are first allocated to Speed, then SpA.

Yache Serp gives offenses some small respite against Weavile. Additionally, with it being a Berry, it can serve as a more unexpected way to slow down an otherwise incredibly dangerous Pokémon. This set doesn't ask too much out of the mon either, as Serp still plays much the same as the standard offensive variant.

Lanturn @ Leftovers

Perhaps the greatest Electric foil in the game, Lanturn is able to check key pivots like Zapdos, Thundurus, and Rotom-Wash. With 32 Speed, it is also able to creep uninvested base 70s and below, giving it the jump on nuisances like Skarmory, Alolomola, and Clefable. 56 HP + 168 Def allow it to survive an Earthquake from the standard Jolly Drill. Additionally, it gives Lanturn strong odds of surviving Keldeo's Secret Sword post rocks. The remaining EVs in SpDef give Lanturn better damage rolls, allowing it to better check offensive Thundurus and other special attackers.

As an Electric type itself, Lanturn comes with the pivoting move of Volt Switch. It also deters grounds with its Scald, though this trait is notably less effective compared to the other Electrics. With Heal Bell, it can serve as a status cleric alongside its ability to limit Electrics. However, it should be noted that Lanturn itself doesn't threaten 2HKOs on many Grounds, so a double switch is typically preferred when trying to catch out your opponent. Toxic is the move I typically prefer as the last slot, as Lanturn is able to cripple nuisances like the Electrics and Gastrodon / Seismitoad. That said, Thunder Wave also offers utility in a guaranteed, debilitating status into targets like Serperior, Latias, and Clefable.

Donphan @ Assault Vest

Donphan is an interesting Ground type spinner not without advantages over Excadrill. Between the Assault Vest and the allocated EVs in HP / SpDef, it is able to avoid a 2HKO from Diancie after rocks. The remaining EVs are slot into Attack to maintain an offensive presence. Additionally, this bulk also allows it to survive an attack from even the strongest Volcarona, meaning it can serve as a check if kept healthy.

Earthquake + Rapid Spin are taken so that Donphan is able to hit hard and perform the important task of spinning. Knock Off is a neat utility that always has value in removing items like Leftovers and Rocky Helmet, with the latter helping it avoid contact damage from using Rapid Spin. Ice Shard gives Donphan an Ice type move that notably allows it to check Dragonite, as well as offering a stronger hit into the 4x weak Grounds like Landorus-Therian and Garchomp. Alternatively, Rock Tomb also helps it slow down Dragonite while keeping rock-weak targets like Volcarona and Charizard-Y in check.

Drapion @ Black Sludge
Ability: Battle Armor

Drapion! Sporting a Dark/Poison typing, this Scorpion is able to comfortably Pursuit trap Psychic nuisances with relative ease. Additionally, with Toxic Spikes, it can lay a devastating hazard that cripples many a team. First, 56 Speed is given so that Drapion can reach a speed stat of 240, allowing it to outspeed Adamant Bisharps and below. Remaining EVs are set to HP first until 248, just enough to maximize mixed bulk while minimizing rocks damage. 16 Attack EVs alongside an Adamant nature give Drapion enough power to consistently force heals from Clefable, something it struggles to do otherwise. The remaining EVs are then put in SpDef, giving adequate bulk to survive attacks from the likes of Gardevoir-Mega and Alakazam-Mega. In particular, it is able to always avoid the OHKO from even the strongest Modest Gardevoirs after rocks.

As with Tentacruel, Drapion isn't something the average team finds space for. However, in carrying the tremendous utility of Toxic Spikes and Pursuit, it finds a place on the occasional stall build. Additional experimentation could be done to see if it can break out to a regular team, though its middling power will prove problematic.

Camerupt-Mega @ Cameruptite
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 232 HP / 168 Def / 16 SpA / 92 Spe

With the allocated bulk, Camerupt is able to survive attacks scaling up to a fully invested EQ from Jolly Excadrill. This also gives it the necessary bulk to survive miscellaneous attacks like the combination of Lopunny's Fake Out + High Jump Kick. With 92 Speed EVs, Camerupt is able to comfortably outspeed the neutral base 30s like Amoongus and Slowbro. Additionally, this investment allows it to outspeed paralyzed Pokémon starting from Aerodactyl down, a tier that includes an afflicted Scarf Volcanion and Weavile. This can allow it to set rocks versus the former and deny revenge kills from the latter two. Paralysis support is ideal to accomplish this, with Thundurus and Serperior being the premier mons associated with the status.

As a rocker, Camerupt frees up slots in the builder, allowing for a more varied and adaptable team composition. Additionally, its unique typing lets it check electrics like Thundurus and Zapdos. Despite the minimal SpA EVs, after considering its ability, stats, and the power behind its chosen attacks, Camerupt retains enough power to threaten 2HKOs into many of the tier with its STABs alone. Rounding out the set, Rock Slide is a curious filler move that targets the 4x weak targets of Talonflame, Charizard-Y, and Volcarona. Finally, it still plays the role of a powerful breaker especially adept at weakening waters like Rotom-Wash and Keldeo.

Rotom-Mow @ Leftovers

Offensive Rotom-Mow has a curious position in the tier, notably being an offensive Electric equipped with a Grass STAB that allows it to safely maneuver around every common ground. Similar to its water counterpart, Rotom-Mow is able to heavily threaten bulkier teams with its powerful Volt Switch. With the added investment, sponges like Clefable and Blissey sustain more chip per turn, something exasperated by its STAB Leaf Storm dissuading Gastrodon from pivoting in on it as it would versus Rotom-Wash. Versus offense, these same attacks, complimented with the crippling Will-O-Wisp, still let it play in a similar fashion to other offensive electrics. HP is chosen over Speed due to the latter being largely unnecessary, in turn giving Rotom-Mow much appreciated bulk to help it better check waters like Rotom-Wash and Keldeo.

Any team that appreciates the extra pressure on Clefable and the Blobs might give some consideration to Rotom-Mow, as it proves to be an incredible nuisance for bulky teams. Beyond that, it still has a unique position as an electric type, as typical counterplay like Seismitoad and Gastrodon are unable to truly stop it. Additionally, its Grass resistance helps versus Serperior, as it is no longer able to scare it out with a single Leaf Storm, giving the Rotom-Mow user greater control in the matchup. All things considered, its bulk should still be kept in mind, as it is prone to being overwhelmed by the likes of Serperior and Thundurus over a prolonged game. The Grass and Electric resistance afforded to it by its secondary typing gives it a unique position in contrast to other electrics and its water type counterpart.

Offensive 4As Mega Aggron is my preferred way to use the mon, as I find each coverage slot an essential piece in the builder. Heavy Slam typically comes out as a base 120 move, something that is further bolstered by Aggron's natural attack stat and the EVs invested into it. Unlike fellow steel type Mega Metagross, Aggron's titanic bulk makes it an unorthodox checks to threats like Mega-Scizor, Taunt Gliscor, and Metagross itself. This comes even without any particular investment, allowing it to invest more heavily in Attack, giving it the necessary firepower to 2HKO the aforementioned grounds and steels, as well as the likes of Landorus-Therian and Amoongus. With hazard support, it can also put immense stress on Skarmory and Zapdos. Wish support is incredibly important for Aggron's longevity, so Clefable / Alolomola are natural partners.

I find that the extra coverage gives the most flexibility in the builder for Aggron itself, ironically. In particular, if Aggron is no longer able to check Gliscor / Scizor, the rest of the team has to accommodate this. However, seeing as Aggron itself takes up the steel slot, it is difficult to find a comfortable structure that still covers enough of the tier. Instead, I opt for 4As so that the remaining slots can handle other meta threats while leaving Aggron to pull its own weight. Wish support feels mandatory on the bulkier teams that Aggron slots into, though further testing could be done to explore its role on faster teams. Speed EVs let it outspeed Blissey and below, HP EVs are maximized to make the most out of Wish support, and after taking the relevant jump point of 176 on an Adamant nature, the remaining EVs are put in SpDef to give better odds of surviving stray Focus Blasts from psychic megas like Alakazam and Gardevoir.

Another bulky juggernaut, Rhyperior offers a unique profile for an offensive team willing to capitalize on it. In particular, it is a Stealth Rock user capable of beating every relevant Defog user in the tier. With Swords Dance, even the bulkiest Scizor is unable to keep it from setting rocks. It also comes with a strong typing that allows it to completely blank Zapdos, allowing it to also set rocks on it. This extends to the other electrics, with bulky Thundurus variants and the occasional Manectric being stonewalled. Even the odd offensive variant of Thundurus is unable to reliably 2HKO through Solid Rock and the allocated bulk. As a bulky ground, it can also check key threats like Charizard-X and Mega-Tyranitar, with even offensive Excadrills struggling to kill it without significant chip damage prior.

Although niche, Rhyperior has enough solid qualities to be worth considering for the curious builder. It is my genuine belief that anything capable of learn Stealth Rocks has a niche, however slight, in this tier. Additionally, with SD + Smack Down, it is able to masterfully control the hazard game, letting it set up and maintain rocks relatively easily. Its natural typing allows it to naturally stave off the premier electrics of the tier, Zapdos and Thundurus, giving it a significant advantage over the premier offensive grounds of the tier, namely Garchomp / Landorus-Therian. Simultaneously, despite having aspects similar to Hippowdon, it maintains an offensive presence similar to that of the aforementioned grounds, giving it a package of strong qualities that I feel earn it a place in the tier.

If it wasn't apparent enough, Stealth Rock is an amazing asset for any Pokémon to carry. With its added bulk, Nidoqueen has a unique place as an offensive rocker that its frailer counterpart can't quite overshadow. While the Nidos typically carry four coverage moves, Flamethrower is the most expendable of the bunch, with the main targets of Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Skarmory all being heavily dented by Earth Power and Ice Beam, respectively. Thus, giving up the coverage for Stealth Rock is an easier decision to make, one that goes on to enable the rest of the team without the restriction of having to fit rocks. As it happens, Nidoqueen happens to beat all primary defoggers in the tier, with Zapdos, Scizor, and the odd Skarmory being fearful of its powerful coverage. Unlike Nidoking, it is able to pivot in on attacks from the likes of Thundurus and Zapdos while possessing the bulk to survive strong attacks like Mega-Diancie's Earth Power and a boosted SD Scizor. Speaking of the Physical bulk, Nidoqueen is able to always avoid an OHKO from the likes of Adamant Lopunny and defensive Garchomp, allowing it to play more aggressively than its male counterpart.

Offensive rockers like Nidoqueen will always have a role, however slight, for expanding the options available in the builder. It should not be forgotten that even after considering its strong utility, Nidoqueen remains a powerful weapon that breaks down teams for its offensively minded partners. Being able to fit rocks elsewhere means that partners like Scarf Excadrill / Lando-T and Sub Salac Garchomp can be run without having to fit rocks. Alternatively, one could opt out of a second ground entirely to fit other useful slots in, opening up different directions for the team that often aren't available if a separate slot had to be dedicated to a rocker.

Diancie is a tremendous threat to most offenses, utilizing its powerful Moonblast alongside an excellent speed tier to give offense a difficult time. However, with the Rock Polish set, Diancie can now serve as a cleaner, able to boost itself to a point where the likes of Thundurus, Serperior, and the occasional Scarf Excadrill are no longer able to revenge it. This is especially notable due to Magic Bounce, which gives it protection against Thundurus, a common tool offenses are reliant on in order to check boosting threats. However, in taking Rock Polish, Protect is typically given up in its stead, necessitating more aggressive play to get Diancie to successfully mega evolve. That said, the base form's increased bulk helps tremendously in that regard, even allowing it to boost in the face of Weavile if needed.

224 EVs allow Diancie to outspeed Weavile once its speed is doubled, a threshold that then lets it go on to outspeed every relevant Pokémon in the tier, Sand Rush Excadrill included, after changing into its mega form. 216 SpA EVs capitalize on Diancie's power, with a Modest nature being acceptable due to Rock Polish ideally covering for the decreased speed. Finally, remaining EVs are given to HP, as Diancie has no more need for the power, whereas the added bulk proves useful for setting up. Standard attacks of Moonblast and Diamond Storm are taken, though there is some flexibility in the last slot as to whether Diancie runs Earth Power to hit Excadrill / Metagross / Heatran harder or takes HP Fire to better harm Scizor / Ferrothorn.

Wanted to revisit this thread after doing a lot of work on the analysis section. Avid users of the damage calc will probably have already noticed, but we made some much needed updates to some mons like Excadrill, Thundurus, and Volcanion. When doing the data analysis of what spreads to use, I discovered some really optimal EV spreads, some of which are more modern versions of the ones I mentioned here before, so I'll update it. Mixnite has already updated in the OP and so has the analyses/calc, but I can go over them and explain them properly here.

I think this set has also been on the come up and is quite cool. Offensive but not choiced. Sub 3 attacks (or subtoxic) w/ lefties can punish many teams that rely on Slowbro water resist. Alternatively, Custap/Mystic/Shuca can bluff scarf while bringing in surprise. I chose 248 HP and 8 Spe, as they are adjustable based on how fast you want your volcanion. You always go max SpA.

I saw many people trying to copy the Scolipede set I used in WCOP last year. Lots of people used max speed and I saw some Jolly nature too. I think all you need is 172 Speed, as that hits 303 speed, outspeeding Scarf Excadrill and Mega Alakzam at +1. That also outspeeds Sand Rush Excadrill at +2. I think the bulky is quite nice especially with Black Sludge (over something like LO), as this set thrives on being a good tool versus offense or BO that rely on priority to check fast threats (i.e., repeated fake out from mega lopunny). Protect is a valid option although it limits your coverage.

Ngl that's pretty impressive. I went through most of the spreads and noticed a few things though.
For example a SpD Clef in your calculation can only reliable check a Mega Zam if it is full health and has Leftovers at all times. Yet Clefable is a primary switch into Knocks and therefore would lose the ability to check what it is supposed to.
Another example would be the calculation on Serp. It might be true that an absolute max roll of Rotom-W could break a Serperior Sub, but considering the the likelyhood of that to happen and the likelyhood of Rotom-W to attack Serp with a Hydro allows some wiggle room.
Worth mentioning is that the EV-spreads are not optimized for Stealth Rock damage.

Despite that its really cool what you did there and I hope you continue it. I will surely re-check some of the spreads I used and test some of the them :blobthumbsup:
