Duplicate Tooltip and known items

What is the bug?
On Turn 6 clefable used knock off transfering the sticky barb back to themselves. Despite that it says i have sticky barb equiped when i go over the mons under the trainer avatar despite when i scroll in the bottom menu it says i am itemless

To my knowledge doing this way replicates it. Sadly i had screenshots i couldnt send here but toxapex taking a knock off from clefable here still says toxapex still has it

Most information shown in tooltips is only that available from the battle log, but the switch view is special in that it contains extra information specially sent by the server, however this additional information is only used for this purpose and no attempt is made to update the regular tooltips.

Sorry I never got to this, I must have missed the message a long time ago... but what do you mean by this in particular? Wouldnt knock off triggering on toxapex should display "item was knocked off" or smth if that was the case as from my understanding i shouldnt have it anymore

Im unsure if this means "this isnt a bug, this is something that happens when its sent by the server or smth" or "this is just how it is"
 
The particular interaction I'm thinking of here is that the sticky barb announces when it hurts its holder but not when it transfers through contact. As such, although tooltips will display a seen sticky barb, this could be inaccurate if it has since transferred itself, and the only way to know for sure whether you are holding it is to check the switch view.
 
We could potentially implement the Switch View during Move Requests for gens 8+, but I think that would significantly increase the logs.

Edit: I mean, the items for each Pokémon (not just active) are being sent through the request message. The tooltip shouldn't be showing Sticky Barb for the Toxapex's player.

I tried to use skill swap with Indeedee with Psychic Surge to Toxapex's merciless and the result was that both pokemon had Psychic Surge

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
yes I have tried it 3 times and every time the same thing happens
