    Latest chemotherapy treatment is going OK; less diarrhoea than the first time round which is nice. Getting a scan next month to check that it's still helping.

    Sorry about that. It should have been banned because it had been banned in Gen 7 Balanced Hackmons but I'd obviously missed the announcement. I've updated ROM now.

    Originally any OM or command which wanted to know the BST had to calculate it for itself. At some point, this was changed so that the BST was precalculated. However, OMs that updated stats, even those that used the precalculated BST, didn't bother updating the BST. This caused a problem when mashing up two OMs that used the precalculated BST. The fix was to make all OMs update the BST whenever they updated stats.

    Yo, apologies for writing on your wall instead of using a helpticket, I couldn't see an option for reporting a banlist update. Would it be possible for you to update the Gen 6 NFE format by adding Monferno to the banlist?

    I've only added it the validator, so it won't show up in the /om output, although you won't be able to battle with it.

    I don't have a specific helpticket for reporting a banlist update, but Report Server Bug works fine I guess.

    ROM's still a couple of months behind on its code. I need to get all the latest changes from Gen 7 merged first, which I hope to do soon, before I can start thinking about Gen 8, but I still hope to get it done this year.

    Although I'd already merged some Gen 8 code previously, I was still missing the validity of past gen transfers via Pokémon Home. I hope to make the update live tomorrow, at which point I can start adding Gen 8 metagames.

    If you mean when am I going to add it to ROM, then yes, I'm a bit behind with my updates, I don't even have the latest Gen 7 code yet. Also, I was waiting for the Gen 8 stuff to settle down a bit anyway. Also, I'm wasting time watching Pokétubers...

    Heyo, coming to you as a 1v1 old gens rep. Resently, Gen 3 1v1 banned Destiny Bond, Self-Destruct, and Explosion, I believe either because if you can cause an opponent to faint with those moves, you win, or because they can cause draws. Either way, it would be excellent if this new ban could be added onto ROM for Gen 3 1v1. Thank you very much.

    Thanks for the update; I've updated ROM's validator, although /om will still be out of date until the next restart.

    (As an alternative to writing on my profile, you could also open a helpticket on ROM.)

    Right now I'm struggling to catch up with the TypeScript conversions that are going on. Maybe once they've settled down it might be possible.
    Update on Old Gens 1v1:
    Porygon-Z needs to be banned from DPP, and Suicune needs to be banned from ADV

    Hello, I was referred to you when I inquired about individuals who could help in coding my recently approved OM, 'Hot Potato' onto a side server. Is there specific process for getting it up and running somewhere? Or is it more of a casual "can you do me a favor" kind of thing?

    Ability suppression, knocking down, Throat Chop's effects and drowsiness were overlooked but yes they should pass.     One of them was Spandam, who put a beta version on Dragonheaven, but it still has a few bugs. Another one by Mathfreak231 has purportedly implemented a bit more but has no place to host it (the github link is found in this post https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/hot-potato.3643676/post-7958145). He's given me his blessings to pass you this code, hopefully it makes things easier for you to properly implement.

    Thank you very much for this, btw. I honestly didn't expect other people to come out of the blue and provide the framework without me asking, but the help you can provide will jumpstart a lot of practical testing necessary to iron out the kinks in balancing the meta
    How would you go about coding Fortemons? It seems like a pretty big project, but I’m not very deep in the world of coding. Also, how did you get your start in doing serious stuff like that? Do you need/have a background? You seem like a really thorough person, so I thought I’d ask you (I’m trying to get into it)

    I have a background in programming, so yes, that helps. As for coding OMs, the trick is stick to generic effects, such as copying the switching effect of U-turn and Volt Switch, because a) it's simpler and b) once you start writing special cases you've wandered into Pet Mod territory.
    I just stumbled upon your post saying that certain moves "failed correctly". I'm taking a screenshot and saving it forever.
