As we wait for pqs to make his post reservation, I would like to announce some plans for the project and things we plan to do or will do.

Events/other stuff happening soon
-I've already mentioned this with others, but a 1v1 Throwback Premier League will come soon. We already have a quick survey about the tour you can fill out here: https://goo.gl/forms/k6DTHuMOYDxqzKzO2
-Besides that, there will also be mini tours on rom. Keep an eye out for those!
-Once our playerbase expands and we have multiple active contributors for each tier, as well enough knowledge on each respective metagame, we could start a competitive analysis project.
-Anything concerning bans/unbans will be voted on by the full council for all gens.

Things you can do to contribute
-WE. NEED. SAMPLE. TEAMS!!!! If you got those, please submit 'em. Remember, each format regardless of generation follows the same rules as SM 1v1, so teams must have 3 mons. Make sure to specify generation when submitting!
-Join the Discord! Link is in the OP.
-We need to clean up and update some of the viability rankings (you should see those for all gens soon). In short, we need tiering contributors.

Nah, don't drop Rhyperior. This thing is a monster, SD Endure Custap with EdgeQuake coverage just smashes through a ton of mons. Solid Rock is helpful for surviving hits it shouldn't. Out of the two S ranks, I think that Infernape is honestly closer to dropping, since it loses to more common threats like this monster, Scarf Jirachi and Porygon-Z, Gliscor and the Latis. Speaking of which...

The more I play with this, the more I debate whether unbanning it was a mistake. I still think its balanced, but A- is definitely underselling it immensely. A+ candidate imo. Have no opinion on Latias since I haven't used it

Yup, this mon's broken. S material, easily. Not a single hard counter in the format. Next.

Actually, this should be dropped, maybe unranked. Why? Because Sturdy only protected from OHKO moves in gen 4. The survive all hits at 1 hp effect didn't come until Gen 5.

Here's some stuff I noticed while playing Gen 5, yes the VR is horrifically outdated and 99.5% wrong, yes I will fix it once I have the opportunity and play some more games

Carracosta seems pretty good, probably should be ranked somewhere around B+ or A-

No clue why Jumpluff is ranked while Whimsicott isn't

Dnite should be ranked

Landorus shouldn't be ranked so high, the elemental gems are good but not so good that it makes Lando A+ worthy

What the hell is Tornadus-I doing on there lmao

Latias is bad

Porygon-Z is still broken, Porygon2 may be good but needs more testing for its effectiveness to be proven

Also, one more thing

Jirachi is quickbanned from BW
For the same reasons as it was in SM: More specifically, the fact that Scarf is uncompetitive garbage. Except in this gen, less mons = less counterplay.

Leftovers and Ingrain are now banned from ADV 1v1. The Immortal pls implement this on the ADV 1v1 ladder on Showdown, and also implement on ROM mr urkerab. Thanks!

Added it to the banlist for Gen 4, which didn't have it, but later generations had already banned it. (Note that I haven't updated the /om command yet.)

Proposing a Porygon Z rise in gen5 1v1 from A+ to S, and a Mew fall from S to A


Porygon Z has 135 SpA, Adaptability, and a monster tool in HyperBeam. If that's too much to ask for, it also gets access to Nasty Plot, Recover, and Conversion. And Custap berry pushes Porygon-Z's potential to the sky. A lethal scarf set already smashes through many Pokemon in the VR, a bulky specs which can deal with KyuB, Garchomp, Latios and other relevant Dragon-types. This makes PZ's only counters Fighting types like Sawk and Terrakion, and Ghost type Pokemon like Gengar which can be dealt with by Conversion Endure PZ. As a result, I think Pokemon is S-rank worthy.....

Mew has really nothing going for it except for a Will O Wisp Taunt Amnesia Keep berry set, and Amnesia IronDefence set. In gen6, it was at A- or B, and it got nothing better from gen6, so I'd say it best stays at A or A-.

Two things concerning BW 1v1.

It was recently discovered that Charm + Seismic Toss is an illegal combo on Chansey in BW. This is obviously huge for its viability in the format. It'll be moved down to B on the VR to accomodate for this.

After some discussion in the Discord, I have decided to ban Kyurem-Black. It just has way too many sets to handle, and its ability and stats are just incredible. The lack of z-moves may seem like it makes it balanced, but that's not entirely true. For example, Kyurem can run a Power Herb Freeze Shock set as a sort of mini Subzero Slammer. It's also worth nothing that prior to its ban in Gen 7, only a fraction of Kyurem-Black's potential sets were z-based: 3 of 12, to be specific, and 2 of them were gimmicky lure z-crystals.

Tagging urkerab to implement these. These'll probably be the last major changes to the BW meta before 1v1TPL starts.

Do you have a list of counters and Tauros's odds of beating each? Is there a particularly overpowering moveset? I understand most of the other bans for the other tiers but Tauros doesn't seem banworthy to me. I'm particularly interested in the matchup vs Articuno.

Ok jumped the gun on this one. Tauros in fact does have many counters. To name the main ones being: Articuno, Moltres, Slowbro, Snorlax, & Starmie. His 21.5% crit rate along with bslam para hax does make it a haxor, but any mon can get hax too. Shortest ban ever.. sorry about this, welcome back Tauros!
