Project Team Bazaar

After burning my house down, I decided to stop cooking and take a look at what that melted plastic goop on my pan is…

Curse Arcanine Balance
Since Arcanine has started gaining popularity in NU overall, I decided to use it. However, to spice things up, I put it on a balance team.
I went with the basic Arcanine set of Flare Blitz / Extreme Speed / Curse / Morning Sun along with Tera Normal to boost Extreme Speed, but instead of Leftovers, I opted for Heavy-Duty Boots for security against entry hazards. The reason why Arcanine is so middling, though, is how it’s hardwalled by one of the best Pokemon in the tier, Chandelure; to counter it, I added Porygon2. (I debated going with Tera Normal Flash Fire Arcanine for the memes, but an impasse isn’t exactly the best, especially when Chandelure can click Energy Ball.) Tera Steel lets Porygon2 become a more reliable special wall against wallbreakers like Munkidori, Sylveon, and Alolan Ninetales. Substitute Basculegion takes advantage of and beats Vaporeon for Arcanine as well as Bronzong for Munkidori, and it’s good at bothering Gastrodon. (You could do a physical set to better handle Gastrodon, but special Basculegion avoiding contact effects while also not having to waste two turns to use a Ghost-type move makes it better in my eyes.) Tera Fairy lets Basculegion take a Knock Off from Incineroar, and it ensures Basculegion beats Fighting-types. Munkidori acts as speed control and can draw in Steel-types for Arcanine to set up on. Tera Poison lets it both boost Sludge Bomb and shed its Dark weakness. Gligar sets hazards, is the Fighting-type switch-in, and checks Alolan Muk. Tera Water lets it avoid powerful Water- and Ice-type moves. Hisuian Decidueye acts as hazard removal, the switch-in for offensive Water-types, and can chip Incineroar for Arcanine and Munkidori to sweep later. Tera Fairy lets it check Flygon and Fighting-types in a pinch.

SD Rhydon + NP Tornadus
Rhydon has seen a surge in interest, too. And, proudly claiming to be one of—if not the first—supporter of it, I had to make a team of my own.
This is an offensive Swords Dance + 3 Attacks Rhydon. The EV spread lets it always take a +2 Earthquake from Flygon while outpacing 170 Speed Pokemon and below, such as Vaporeon, Sylveon, and Registeel. Ice Punch complements Earthquake, hitting Flygon, Amoonguss, and Kilowattrel, and Fire Punch lets Rhydon chunk Bronzong to make Tornadus's job easier. Tera Water allows Rhydon to take Water- and Ice-type attacks in a pinch. Tornadus capitalizes on Grass- and Fighting-types that try to take advantage of Rhydon. Sludge Bomb is used over Dark Pulse here to hit both Diancie neutrally and other Fairy-types. Tera Steel lets it better handle them as well as other wallbreakers such as Munkidori and Goodra. Decidueye acts as the hazard control and checks some Fighting-types. I went with Giga Drain to better handle fat Water-types. Tera Poison allows Decidueye to take on all Fighting-types better, especially Toxicroak. Milotic handles Fire-types, notably checking Chandelure. Dragon Tail lets it bother setup sweepers, and Tera Poison lets Milotic check Toxicroak as well as other Fire-types. Bronzong sets entry hazards, is the special wall, and acts as the Steel-type for opposing wallbreakers like Sylveon, Munkidori, and Alolan Ninetales. Tera Fairy lets it last-minute check Fighting-types and Flygon. Choice Scarf Infernape is the speed control that checks Bronzong, and it brings in Poison-types for Rhydon. Tera Fighting boosts Close Combat to insane levels while granting Infernape a resistance to Stealth Rock.

Cramorant Balance
Seeing Cramorant’s rise in tournament usage (a.k.a. the fact that it was used at all) inspired me to use the derpy bird myself, especially since it can provide hazard removal.
Cramorant checks Fighting- and Water-types, notably walling most Paldean Tauros-W and -F sets. Defog is great due to how difficult it is to have entry hazard control on a team at times. Tera Fairy simply gives Cramorant a good defensive Tera type that still allows it to resist Fighting-type attacks. Chandelure handles the Steel-types that can bother Flygon, Sylveon, and Overqwil. On top of that, Energy Ball lets it beat Water-types, especially with Tera Grass to both boost it and give it resistances to Water and Ground. Sylveon provides recovery for Overqwil and Bronzong while being a switch-in for Fighting-types, stonewalling non-Gunk Shot Toxicroak, which has risen in popularity somewhat recently. Tera Poison lets Sylveon take on Alolan Muk and other Poison-types. Overqwil sets Spikes, spreads poison, and checks Incineroar, chipping it with Rocky Helmet to help Chandelure in wallbreaking. Tera Flying gives it a Ground immunity and Fighting resistance. Bronzong sets up Stealth Rock and is the special wall, taking on Kilowattrel, Munkidori, and Sylveon. Tera Fairy allows it to wall Flygon and take Fighting-type attacks in a pinch. Choice Scarf Flygon acts as speed control, and Tera Steel means it can take attacks from Munkidori and Diancie and revenge kill them.

Ice Spam + Lurk TR
I wanted to use Golurk and Glastrier on separate teams, but then, I realized I could just slap them together and wreck havoc with Trick Room.
Glastrier is SD + 3 Attacks with Close Combat to nail Steel-types and Crunch to hit Chandelure and Bronzong. Tera Dark both boosts Crunch and lets Glastrier tank Ghost- and Dark-type attacks for the rest of the team in a pinch if needed. Alolan Exeggutor is the first of three Trick Room setters. It chips Steel-types as well as dents Water-types for Glastrier, Diancie, Crabominable, and Golurk. On top of that, Eject Pack allows it to pivot with Draco Meteor and Leaf Storm—multiple times, too, thanks to Harvest. Tera Fire boosts Flamethrower, improving Alolan Exeggutor’s matchup into Steel-types, and it gives Alolan Exeggutor a Fairy and Fire resistance. Golurk beats bulky Steel- and Poison-types like Bronzong, Registeel, and Galarian Slowbro. Tera Fighting powers up Dynamic Punch and gives it a resistance to Dark-type attacks. Crabominable doubles up with Glastrier to overwhelm shared checks like Vaporeon, Milotic, and Bronzong. Earthquake targets Poison- and Fire-types such as Galarian Slowbro, Chandelure, and Hisuian Typhlosion, while Thunder Punch targets Water-types like Vaporeon, Paldean Tauros-W, and Milotic. Tera Electric is used, since it simultaneously boosts Thunder Punch while giving Crabominable a Flying-type resistance, helping it against Kilowattrel, Tornadus, and Flamigo in a pinch. Diancie is the second Trick Room setter and works to whittle down Bronzong and other Steel-types. Tera Grass gives it important resistances to Water, Grass, and Ground, ensuring it can set up Trick Room. The last Trick Room setter, Uxie, is often the lead. Mental Herb lets it go for Trick Room while the foe uses Taunt. Uxie has both Memento and U-turn to aid setup as well as switching in or preserve itself, depending on the situation. Tera Dark means Uxie can tank a Ghost- or Dark-type attack, letting it safely get a Trick Room up.

:houndstone:-:vaporeon:-:goodra:-:bronzong:-:coalossal:-:swampert:
Somehow this started off as a double regen team and kept neither the amoongus or glowbro. But this team has the sole goal of ensuring you have more fun than your opponent will by stacking hazards and forcing them out repeatedly.

:Houndstone: He blocks spin and roars, almost a must for stall teams reliant on hazard stack in general, threw on a red card because houndstone usually doesn't keep its item long anyway due to how often it will come in on knock off, so the more forced switches the better
:Vaporeon: Roar clicker number 2 with added wish support and scald burns along with the water immunity and tera normal because sub legion is broken
:goodra: Those who know how 90% accurate dragon moves on this thing tend to do with me might be surprised to see it, but due to its immense special bulk and access to knock off and toxic as well as dragon tail made it necessary for this build, having at least one dragon tail user ensures I don't get auto 6-0d by that bird etern hates
:bronzong: needed a rocker and a flygon check, zong fits the bill, ended up going physically defensive as I felt I threw enough SpDef elsewhere and stronger body presses can catch people off guard as well as the things it can live
:coalossal: Now I know what you're thinking, "why are you using coalossal in NU" and the answer is... lack of better role compression for this slot as I needed spikes and a spinner still and I was not tossing alolan sandslash on this build or the kanto one for that matter, and to coals credit its stabs hit all the common spin blockers bar basculegion for super effective damage, even houndstone as fluffy makes it take double damage from fire moves, and flame body is nice utility, and coal actually has good stats, the only major downside is that defensive typing and tera can help with that some games
:swampert: and with all that I still needed a couple things for this build, a volt blocker, particularly one who can actually take hurricanes from kilowattrel, and a second knock off user would be nice, swampert can do just that and even click roar as well to further go with this build, and rest talk helps make the team a little less reliant on wishes from vaporeon
Won a room tour in tours room with this team, only ended up saving a couple games though

With NU SSNL being over, NUPL and NU Open about to start, NU Swiss on going, and Registeel recently leaving the tier, it feels like a fine time to dump some teams, yap about them, and hopefully push the meta forward a bit for the next few months. This will pretty much cover the successful stuff I've built between NUCL ending and now. The Registeel teams are obviously not loadable anymore, but still worth talking about as the structures still pretty much work with Copperajah or Bronzong replacing them (you might need a few other changes as well).

I'll group these into categories as I've tended to recycle a lot of cores and partnerships, and try to link up the games where these were used as well.

Bronzong / Amoonguss Balance
Balance is certainly alive and well in this meta. With just Bronzong and Amoonguss you cover a large portion of the tier, and can make up for the few missing weaknesses with a Dark type of your choice. Adding some wallbreaker, speed control, and win condition with complementary typings / immunities and you have a very serviceable team.

Boring Standard Balance
:bronzong: - :amoonguss: - :incineroar: - :flygon: - :diancie: - :basculegion:
This is possibly the most boring version of this team. Incin covers the glaring Chandelure weakness from your initial core, then you just add a wallbreaker with great typing (Basc), Flygon for the amazing typing and speed control, Diancie to close games. This is kinda the basis for all the other teams in this section, but is really flexible and you can chop and change mons.

Drednaw Balance
:bronzong: - :amoonguss: - :incineroar: - :flygon: - :drednaw: - :basculegion:
It's the same but instead of ending games with Diancie you do it with Drednaw. Basc probably has better synergy here as it loves to break through Water Absorb mons like Vap / Gastro who Drednaw hates. SD Incin also puts loads of pressure on the bulky waters.
vs Don Bork

Drednaw Scrafty
:bronzong: - :amoonguss: - :scrafty: - :flygon: - :drednaw: - :chandelure:
Or, you can go in a slightly different direction and use Chandelure as the wallbreaker with Scrafty picking up some defensive slack as a Dark type. This version plays a bit more aggressively, as Scrafty and Chandelure don't have quite the same defensive profile as Basculegion and Incin, but it's still essentially the same team.
vs etern
vs showl
vs DugZa

Faster Offense
These teams still follow similar structures to the above balance teams, but they rely more on hazards and momentum to make progress rather than singular wallbreakers, forcing fast games and requiring aggressive trades.

Fast Spikes
:klefki: - :munkidori: - :incineroar: - :flygon: - :kilowattrel: - :basculegion:

As you can see, this follows a really similar structure to the above balance teams, with roles shifted around a bit. Klefki is the Steel type, Munki replaces Amoonguss as the Poison type / key Fighting resist which is now also speed control, Incin is still the Dark type, Flygon now handles Rocks and can be any set you want here really, Kilo replaces the wincons instead forcing so much momentum, and Basc still breaks down pretty much every team. This same team works with Scrafty > Incin as well.
vs rik

Mold Breaker Basc
:registeel: - :toxicroak: - :tauros-paldea-blaze: - :flygon: - :scream-tail: - :basculegion:
Same structure again (Steel, Fight resist, Intimidate, Flygon, Ultra Speed, Basc), but this one leaning even more offensive, with Mold Breaker Basc being the key part this team is build around. A lot of teams were relying on Vaporeon / Gastro / Toxicroak to check Basc, so with Mold Breaker you invalidate all of those. This pairs nicely with Scarf redbull and Scream Tail who can't break the bulky waters well, and Toxicroak does a similar job. Sub Registeel is an awesome set I've been running for a while which destroys fatter / balance leaning teams - you could probably replace this with Shengineers Sub / Encore / DiamondPress Diancie and do very similar work.
vs TNunes
vs DugZa
vs Don Bork

Flamunki
Flamigo is an absolutely huge threat right now (notice the stacking of Fight resists that are not Ghost types in all the above teams) and pairs so well with Munkidori, who is a similarly huge threat. You can build a lot of different style of teams around these two, with both running many different sets, and here are a few of my favourite ones.

My Best Flamunki
:flamigo: - :munkidori: - :gastrodon: - :bronzong: - :sylveon: - :porygon-z:
After a few iterations this is the one I like the most. Scarf Munki pivots on pretty much everything, and is the main wincon here. You can run whatever non-scarf Flamigo set you want here - Choice Band is great, SD / Taunt / Sub all work as well. Itemless Acro is fun to avoid the main downside, Brave Bird Recoil, and most switchins other than Kilo are slower so SD can be pretty free on Migo. Bronzong / Gastro / Sylveon is a nice alternative to the Bronzong / Amoonguss cores, and I like it a little better than Vaporeon at the moment as Sylveon has a better Flamigo matchup. You can play around with the Gastro and Zong sets here - Spikes is valid with SR on Zong instead of the demon set. Porygon-Z gives a much needed Ghost immunity, and the bulky NP Tera Ground set is great at breaking Bronzong + Muk, opening yet more holes for Munkidori.
vs etern

NP Munki
:flamigo: - :munkidori: - :gastrodon: - :bronzong: - :sylveon: - :muk-alola:

This one takes a different approach, focusing on the ability of Scarf Flamigo to pivot on mons like Amoonguss, Glowbro, and others into NP Munkidori. Shadow Ball / Tera Ground achieves similar things to PZ in the last team, breaking down Bronzong and Muk-Alola, which allows CM Sylveon space to act as the main win condition. With PZ no longer needed, we still need a ghost resist so Muk rounds out the team and makes sure all other Munkidoris are having a terrible time. You can see how flexible the sets and slots are on this structure of team, it's fun to play around with.
vs rik

Vaporeon Balances
These ones are slightly out of favour at the moment, but I can see them making a comeback with updated structures. I spammed these teams to keep Shengineer off the top of the ladder for most of March.

Vap Balance + Flamunki
:flamigo: - :munkidori: - :vaporeon: - :registeel: - :gligar: - :porygon-z:

Almost the same as the above teams, with different water absorb mon, steel type, and fight resist to make up the defensive core. With the rise of Flamigo / Scyther, Gligar has become less and less viable as it just let's those in for free. Teams are also teching a lot for Vaporeon so it's having a harder time at the moment. Still, this team with a different Steel is serviceable, and maybe Gligar can start running Dual Wingbeat instead. I think the final version of this was actually put together by Esteb4n towards the end of NUCL and Hiko won a game with it.
vs sufys
hiko vs tko

WispHex Chandelure
:chandelure: - :flygon: - :vaporeon: - :registeel: - :gligar: - :muk-alola:
This was built around using bulky Chandelure as a spinblocker, as basically nothing can spin against it and Defoggers are not very good atm. The team just wears stuff down until eventually Scarf Flygon wins. This is a pretty boring team to be honest but had a lot of success on ladder.
vs rik

Scyther / Cinccino HO
This style has been around since SCL, and seems to keep getting a lot of hype. Personally, I've struggled to have as much success with this, and I'm not overly sold on it. Still, there's a few versions of it I did build.

TrickSludgeLurk ScytherCincc
:scyther: - :cinccino: - :diancie: - :ninetales-alola: - :golurk: - :munkidori:

This is just stacking mons that overwhelm the Steel types in the tier, with some fun sets thrown in. Trick Black Sludge + Klutz Golurk has a great matchup vs slow balance teams, as no Poison really wants to switch into it. NP Adrenaline Orb Munki with hit an Incineroar one day but it has yet to happen and that makes me sad.
vs etern

Another ScytherCincc HO
:scyther: - :cinccino: - :diancie: - :tauros-paldea-aqua: - :flygon: - :ninetales-alola:
Another cut of this team where it simply overwhelms Steels to win. To be honest I find these ones quite boring to build so not much more to say on these.

You can shift these teams a lot as well - Toxtricity, Scream Tail, Staraptor, Arcanine, Braviary-H all suit this style.

Other random stuff
These don't really fit anywhere else

Hex Paraspam
:ninetales-alola: - :amoonguss: - :flygon: - :chandelure: - :registeel: - :kilowattrel:

Three mons to para stuff and three mons to Hex stuff. This is kinda bad but when it pops off it's really funny. Yellow magic broken. Probably works fine with Klefki > Regi
vs sufys

Specs Chand Big Woch
:scyther: - :chandelure: - :flygon: - :wo-chien: - :vaporeon: - :registeel:
I used this as a counterteam when someone kept running SubCM Tbolt / Shadow Ball Raikou and SubSplit Basc, which Woch walls both of. It's a recreate of a team Pokeslice built back in SCL, and could still hold up with Copper > Regi as that is what the original version had. Defog Scyther is nice to guarantee removal for Specs Chand, and Scyther / Flygon both pivot on mons Chand eats up.
vs showl

IntelCroak
:inteleon: - :toxicroak: - :bronzong: - :incineroar: - :sylveon: - :flygon:
Used this in finals vs Shen as Intel looks great into his scout - sadly loads into an almost mirror. This is a nice standard balance team which covers most matchups well and is easy to use.
vs shengineer

Enjoy! See you all in Swiss, Open, and NUPL

Hey I just wanted to check out the NU format so I just made a team which was initially a prototype and this one is the refined version of it. I just swapped kingdra for Basculegion and made quite a few changes too after every match. Bellibolt and Bronzong really compliment each other well, like bellibolt can tank shots and heal off and in case of ground moves you can switch to Bronzong, now this (Bronzong) Can setup in their face with trick room and calm mind, I used Tera rock for fire resistant incase of incineroar but fighting works fine too. These two senergize well. Now coming to the other members, hitmontop serves as hazard remover and also hits hard for some really good damage thanks to technician (this one's so underrated). Porygon Z (I just wanted to use it lol) has that surprise factor due to Tera ghost but still this one seems weak even with that adaptability lol didn't get a single ohko on neutral targets. Now, regarding the other two inteleon and basculegion, I just wanted a fast damage dealer so inteleon fits well with that coverage and even priority vaccum wave comes in handy for shell smash Drednaw and can be clutch sometimes... Now, Basculegion idk lol, but it may work well as late game sweeper with wave crash ig. I think I still have to refine it but still won quite a few battles though on the lower ladder. But hey this seems different from the usual sets, right? I mean atleast the Bronzong's set is.
Feel free to use it and make some changes according to your style guys. (Oh yeah lately I have been using tanky mons, I used to just fill my team with hard hitters before, though. Guess I'm learning lol.)

I want to share some of the team I built for NUPL since they worked well for me or for friends both on PL or Open. The teams are pretty offensive and in my opinion fun to play if you like this kind of structures.

1751188963445.png

https://pokepast.es/c6612d3549965c33 : This team is initially mine even though I never played it on real tours it was used by my friend fish on PL and others on PL/Open. Brav is an insane breaker especially if you can keep no hazards on your field and without entering into much details the rest is more or less classic ho mons. They cover basic weaknesses (water, ground, elec, ghost...) so you have some kind of defensive counterplays in any situation even if you need to play aggro.

1751189719147.png

https://pokepast.es/04ff9fc922c29e74 : Another ho that I used in pl this time. I wanted to make k9 work so I tried the curse espeed/blitz bulky set. However i was always facing chandelures and couldn't do anything. So I tried band k9 that is surprisingly good (if you click the right mooves) especially in endgames with espeed tera going hard. the goal here is usually to win with a sweeper or to weaken the opposing steels so cincin or munki can win.

1751189918214.png

https://pokepast.es/2dd7c001db318b39 : with vapo usage going down I wanted to use scarf bascu because it's really strong vs no water immunities. Django was not really using vap anymore so I gave it a try. And even if I faced one, the croak is made to use vapo as a free switch with life orb KOing a lot of mons that would usually tank one cc/gunk. Ice punch is for gligar but you can use koff also. The rest of the team is centered around stack hazard that helps bascu to sweep and also raikou because it doesn't hit so hard but it can win easily a lot of endgames with the right planning.

1751190255686.png

https://pokepast.es/6fcab4b6f5bc6f46 : another team made around the idea that vapo was going down in usage replaced by sylveon mostly. The idea is to overwhelm the water resist to clean with vapo cm. It's very defensive and after one cm with tera almost impossible to rk with your water resist down. the team has other techs like epack flamigo double dance. The team is usually good vs fat as you have a lot of strong breakers and momentum users. very cool to play but you have to be aggro vs hazard stack if you aren't the mu is complicated.

Enjoy the teams, if you have any questions feel free to reach out !

Made a rain team since politoad and barraskewda just dropped to nu. Most of it is common rainspam stuff but there are a couple of things I should explain. Team link here

1751478383682.png

Tsareena set

Tsareena is the glue to the team. With max defense and 248 hp it's favored to take less than half from a tera water cloice band barraskewda's liquidation under rain. Tera ghost blocks cc and spin attempts (Ik this set loses to overqwil but shh). The brave nature and 30 speed IVs are meant to give the sweepers as safe a switch in as possible (mostly against other tsareena. Without gastrodon this is probably the best answer to barra in nu. I'm considering running boots instead of av but I really like the extra security against special attackers like opposing kilo and kingdra.

1751479628106.png

Tentacruel Set

I also decided to take a cue from gen 5 and use tentacruel for hazard setting. With lefties (not black sludge in case I want to tera though I might change that) and protect it can easily shrug of hits under rain and set up t-spikes to get just enough chip for the sweepers and even toxic stall by itself. Flip turn is obviously for momentum and surf is for some actual damage. This is also part of the reason have earth power on politoed just in case I need to threaten another poison type outside of rain with it (the other reason is so I can threaten torkoak on switch in). I've found that I don't really need spin as long as I have boots on kilo since this team can usually keep hazards from either going up altogether or doing too much damage by just winning quickly. Tera dark is just to get rid of any weaknesses and block prankster.

This team will probably be outdated by the end of the week since I refuse to believe drizzle+swift swim will last that long in the tier so enjoy this team while you can!

Posting a bunch of teams I built during LTWC which I was happy with. Sad it's over but going 10-2 alongside Icemaster was fun and think a lot of these teams are great still

NP Surf Slowbro CM Dudun
:slowbro-galar: - :tsareena: - :dudunsparce: - :copperajah: - :barraskewda: - :flygon:
This was early on in the tour, and is a bit of a rehash of my old CM Dudun sample from the previous meta. The big shift since then was Rhyperior, and Surf Slowbro aims to lure that in and chunk it. Toxic > Shadow Ball on Dudunsparce similarly punishes Rhyperior. DD U-Turn Flygon can bluff scarf easily turn 1 to set up later, while Barraskewda is the real speed control. Cloak Tsar is the Scald switchin.
Replay vs Diamonds_realm (L) - Shadow Ball would have done a lot better than Toxic here sadly, and I misplayed the endgame while also not rolling a Rhyperior matchup. Diamonds loaded a cool Flygon set which smoked Tsareena

Specs Tox AV Melo
:toxtricity: - :meloetta: - :tauros-paldea-aqua: - :flygon: - :tsareena: - :bronzong:
This was built for Icemaster to play in pools, even with Rhyperior around Specs Tox is a huge threat, if anything it got better as people were relying on Rhyp to beat Normal spam and it can't stand up to Specs Boomburst. U-Turn Flygon and Eject Pack Tauros give lots of ins for Tox, while physical AV Melo can easily chunk / Knock Spdef steels who might want to switch into Boomburst. Scarf Flygon is normally the wincon after that. Looking back at this Bronzong should probably be Phys Def to shore up the Breloom matchup.
Replay vs Lhions (W) - Melo goes crazy

Tox / Scyther / Cincc HO
:rhyperior: - :cinccino: - :toxtricity: - :scream-tail: - :scyther: - :zoroark:
I had been loading mostly balance / BO so wanted to lean more into HO in QFs. Scyther had dropped off the radar a bit, and has some really fun synergies with Toxtricity and Zoroark. SD Zoro disguised as either of these can cripple checks like Rhyperior and Kilowattrel, while most teams struggle to deal with those threats on top of Scream Tail. Weakness policy Rhyp is a funny set but to be honest could be a number of different mons in this slot.
Replay vs Separation (W) - Zoro, Cincc, and Tox soften up the team for a Scyther win
Replay vs OBB (W) - a much worse matchup but there's still enough tools to win

Cincc / Rhyp Balance para spam version
:rhyperior: - :cinccino: - :copperajah: - :articuno-galar: - :amoonguss: - :bellibolt:
I was on a Rhyperior + Cinccino hype this week (inspired by Pokeslice) and went through loads of builds with the first 4 here. It's a really solid core which can be taken in quite a few directions, as you already have hazards, removal, wincon, and checks for lots of the meta. I went down a para spam route for speed control, Amoonguss and Belli giving the team the physical backbone it needed. You can mess around with the last two slots here if you want to make the team more offensive as well. Guno is really really good and this team helps it by chipping it's few checks as well, Cinccino in particular is a great partner. Oh also Fairy Blast on everything is broken
Replay vs akxdhdwy (W) - great matchup and not many big plays were needed
Replay vs OBB (L) - I threw

Bulky Chand SD Migo
:flamigo: - :chandelure: - :duraludon: - :scrafty: - :scream-tail: - :flygon:
At this point the memes about me losing to Breloom were rampant, and Stories was an avid Breloom / Scrafty fan, so I wanted to build a team which can have a 100-0 matchup into both. SD Roost Migo is a reliable counter to BU Scrafty who doesn't also become deadweight outside of that matchup, while bulky Pain Split Chandelure does similar vs Breloom. Encore + Wish Scream Tail gives more insurance vs both while also giving the team more longevity. Duraldon and Scrafty give enough bulk on both spectrums while also making progress themselves, and giving hazards. This team is horribly weak to Spikes but Stories wasn't loading that so it was a bit fishy in that regard. Scarf Flygon is kinda glue for a lot of teams, giving great defensive typing, speed control, win condition, momentum all in one. Tera Fairy Flash Fire Chandelure feels amazing right now, setting up for free on Incineroar and Scrafty, two of the biggest checks, and the bulk allows it to do even more work, in the replay below it even tanks Copper Iron Head after Tera.
Replay vs Stories (W) - Fairy Chandelure does its thing

This is a fun meta and the tournament provided loads of games to push it forwards. Hopefully see you all in SCL!
