What exactly was Lando trying to do? The gap was closing; he should've known better than that, and to tunnel-vision and crash into your teammate like that is a worrying sign for the rest of the season to me.

I hope Lawson's put out of his misery in short order now that Lindblad has his super license. Revolving-door seats suck, but the only way to stop it is to find someone who actually belongs in that seat.
I feel like Lawson might actually have a better shot of staying in the Red Bull program than Tsunoda. Considering the fact that Lawson was tapped for a promotion despite Tsunoda being readily available, and the two not being super different in terms of pace, I could very well see Tsunoda be kicked to the curb due to Red Bull's lack of faith in him. As for who would occupy the second Red Bull, that's a tougher question - perhaps Red Bull choose to put Hadjar in and exhaust the 4-driver rule, or maybe they keep Tsunoda and none of this happens.

What an Austrian GP Quali, Burned Grass on Red Bull Ring and Red Flag, and no Williams on Top 10. Im suprised because Bortoleto is 8th with that Tractor that is the Sauber, in same row as Verstappen, and no Williams managed to even be ln Q3.

rip for Sainz, Verstappen and Albon.

Was an intriguing fight for the lead, great racing in the first stint, I was of the opinion though, if they weren’t going to immediately pit Piastri they should have extended far longer than they did, if they were going to offset, send it. Most of his big gains later on came due to traffic.

Very good work from Lawson, making the one stop work and holding Alonso at bay the entire race. Alonso too obviously, but Lawson really needed that one. Great race from Bortoleto and Sauber in general, points from Hulk from the back of the grid? Yes please. Was worth taking the gamble for Hadjar with the SC pit but still, can’t help wondering if he may have beaten Ocon if he hadn’t pitted at the start - though I don’t remember where he ended up after lap 1.

Decent race. Hamilton was also completely right at the end, 0 threat from Russell so give him an alternate to LeClerc as well. Classic Ferrari.

I think the general sentiment is he’s going due to them switching away from Honda power. Probably Hadjar to Red Bull. They’ll always have another rookie lined up too. Tsunoda though, unlike with de Vries, can’t come have fun with Toyota in WEC due to his Honda associations. (de Vries, Hartley and Buemi all racing for them this year!) Apparently Stroll is still contracted with Aston Martin. But they’re switching to Honda Factory. They’d be effing stupid to not swap him with Tsunoda but hey, would not surprise me either.

First podium for Nico in 239 race starts. First podium for Sauber in F1 since Japan 2012 with Kamui Kobayashi, 264 Grand Prix ago.

What a historic day for both driver and team. Sauber as an entity may no longer be the truly independent outfit it used to be, but how good is it to see them find success after all the turmoil they've had to endure since their BMW partnership ended abruptly.

The performances Nico and Gabi have produced lately, and the work done behind the scenes by Binotto, Wheatley and co. are both starting to pay off. Here's hoping it continues going into the Audi era :psyglad:

Crazy to think Hulk had to hold off Lewis Hamilton, at his best track, in the wet for his first podium. You cannot script that, F1 movie could never

Also re: Mclaren drama, I think everyone needed a reminder that Piastri is capable of some L moments (just not that many). This title fight is a real thing even without Max as a main player

Perhaps I’m slighlty biased here but I wouldn’t necessarily call that an L moment. It was interesting to see Oscar actually angry for once though.

Also buh bye Horner
