Resource SV UU Sample Teams [Submissions Open]

Hello, UU community! Today I present you an offensive-oriented team whose main character is... Oricorio
1749459498241.png
!

The PokéPaste is this: [1749460458847.png1749461363641.png1749459498241.png1749462521985.png1749467158062.png1749461054180.png]

The team explanation is the following:
- Oricorio-Pom-Pom
1749459498241.png

Is kind of the centerpiece of the team, making it a strong Quiver Dance sweeper that can turn games on its side. It has Taunt to make it force out non-Poison Jab Clodsire
1749459668801.png
, letting it set up a Quvier Dance for free. Taunt is also helpful against Toxic users like Toxapex
1749459768206.png
or Mandibuzz
1749469240098.png
, and the not so common stall mons like Umbreon
1749460373726.png
, Weezing-G
1749460317357.png
or Quagsire
1749460356861.png
. Its investment lets it resist an Arcanine-H
1749460011092.png
's Head Smash after Tera (even though you won't usually use Tera against it) and an Excadrill
1749460063038.png
's unusual-yet-existent Rock Slide. Basically, it won't get easily OHKO'd thanks to the investment while being able to outspeed key threats after one or two Quiver Dances, most importantly the speedster of the tier, Deoxys-S
1749460157952.png
(it doesn't outspeed Iron Jugulis
1749460178778.png
at +2 but the SpDef boost makes it easy for Oricorio to face the Paradox 'mon).
Roost can take the place of Taunt whether you'd like to let Oricorio stay alive for longer. Also, Hurricane over Air Slash is always valid for a not-so-accurate but stronger Flying STAB. Finally, you could go with whichever Tera you prefer to substitute Electric coverage in Revelation Dance by any other coverage you think is good.

- Keldeo
1749460458847.png

Great special attacker that has an amazing synergy with Oricorio. The Electric/Flying Pokémon struggles against Excadrill when Tera is not aviable, so Keldeo helps here offensively. Other key 'mons Keldeo checks are Arcanine-H, Blissey
1749460603945.png
/Chansey
1749460654011.png
, Heatran
1749460682299.png
, Greninja
1749460724205.png
, Skeledirge
1749460767993.png
, Tyranitar
1749460779889.png
, Hydreigon
1749460838367.png
and the not-so-usual Cyclizar
1749460886812.png
. Outspeeding Thundurus-T
1749460952051.png
is pretty good to revenge-kill it, plus Vacuum Wave is amazing as well for such task, facing chipped Greninja, Revavroom
1749461054180.png
, Zarude
1749461077680.png
or Ogerpon Teal Mask
1749461223512.png
and Cornerstone Mask
1749461283327.png
. Flip Turn is the last, but not least, attack. Pivoting around safely with Keldeo is great, so you can get other defensive pieces in game or send a strong offensive check.
Leftovers is another item that can be over Heavy-Duty Boots in order to let Keldeo stay alive longer, and a Substitute + Calm Mind set is also good for this team. Tera Water offers more firepower in Surf, and so does Tera Fighting for Sacred Sword. Even Tera Electric + Tera Blast is a strong option in order to check bulky waters and paralysis spreaders.

- Donphan
1749461363641.png

I've always liked Donphan as it's THE non-recovery bulky Ground Type of the tier with Hazard control. Stealth Rock is great against Sitrus Berry Thundurus-T, Assault Vest Tornadus-T
1749461442529.png
, Ogerpon-C (plus other Sturdy 'mons) and the unusual-yet-threatening Throat Spray Yanmega
1749461559365.png
. Rapid Spin is, as well, just always great. Finally, Earthquake + Knock Off is a great moveset that threatens almost every Pokémon, most notably threatening an OHKO or a 2HKO with the Ground attack against Excadrill, Sandy Shocks
1749461692655.png
, Cobalion
1749461728367.png
, Clodsire, Arcanine-H, Heatran, Toxapex, Skeledirge or Revavroom after exploding Air Balloon while also hitting hard 'mons like Slowking
1749461900797.png
, Sinistcha
1749461925824.png
or Skarmory
1749461965129.png
as you remove their items, making it easier for your team to break through it.
Tera Ghost is good against spinners and strong Fighting Types, but Tera Steel or Tera Fairy are as well valid options. Ice Spinner can take the place of any other attack for strong coverage against grass types, so can Ice Shard for an extra priority. Lastly Custap Berry + Endeavor strategies are good as well.

- Serperior
1749462521985.png

Using Serperior as an offensive 'mon has always been kinda underwhelming for me. That's why I opted for a more supportive set with Glare, Taunt and Synthesis while still having the sweeping potential of Contrary + Leaf Storm. It's a great anti-lead option against Deoxys-S, as it can Glare then Taunt in exchange of just Stealth Rocks. Apart of that, the simple Glare + Taunt lead is always great, even useful in mid game. It offensively checks Rotom-W
1749462824331.png
and Azumarill
1749462843774.png
, two bulky waters that could've been annoying in any other way. It also outspeeds key threats such as the Ogerpons, Latios
1749462899361.png
, Keldeo, Cobalion and Zarude in addition to some other not-so-common 'mons/sets like Maushold
1749463024638.png
, Ninetales-A
1749463277003.png
, White Herb Hawlucha
1749463277014.png
and Modest Greninja.
Serperior is just a good addition in this team. It could have a Screens set as well as a Tera Blast set with max SpAtk EV's. It can also run Knock Off over Taunt.

- Haxorus
1749467158062.png

An overly threatening physical breaker with enormous damage output, able to clean games in its own after KOing Steel and Fairy Types. Its Outrage is able to OHKO Hydrapple
1749467332819.png
, Tornadus-T, Thundurus-T, Keldeo; Earthquake is great for Rotom-W, Skeledirge, Clodsire, Excadrill and Heatran; Poison Jab decimates Azumarill and Enamorus-T
1749468438090.png
, and, last but absolutely not least, First Impression. We all know how good Lokix
1749467621653.png
is with it, obliterating Latios, Deoxys-S, Serperior, Greninja, Zarude, Hydreigon, Ogerpon-T and opposing Lokix. So, same stuff with Haxorus, plus it ignores Sturdy from Ogerpon-C, so another kill for the counter.
Band is the strongest set, but Loaded Dice + Scale Shot over Outrage is another, less restrictive option that doesn't miss that many KO's. Swords Dance is also good for sweeping. Tera Blast Fairy, Fire or Electric over Poison Jab is also good, so is another Teratype: Dragon further enhances Outrage's power, taking KO's it wouldn't take otherwise; Steel + Iron Head is the same as its actual Poison + Poison Jab; Ground is also great for Earthquake, and so is Bug with First Impression.

- Revavroom
1749461054180.png

I ABSOLUTELY love Revavroom's performance in the tier. Shift Gear is just boosted, mostly on a breaker like this, enabling it to outpace speedsters such as Scarf Zarude, Booster Energy Iron Jugulis, Deoyxs-Speed, Scarf Latios and a +1 Cyclizar that could threaten an Overheat... which wouldn't be enough thanks to Revavroom's ability Filter. This lets it resist opposing Revavroom's +1 Temper Flare, Skeledirge's Torch Song and Enamorus-T's and Gardevoir
1749468493683.png
's Mystical Fire (nothing much tbh). With Air Balloon, it absolutely walls Clodsire, Hydrapple, Excadrill and non-Mystical Fire sets of the aftermentioned Fairy Types, using them as a set-up folder to then sweep with Gunk Shot, High Horsepower and Temper Flare. Just make sure your opponent isn't called Flash Fire + Air Balloon Heatran.
Revavroom's Tera options aren't many; it's either Ground to enhance High Horsepower's power and not get Thunder Wave'd or Tera Fire to avoid getting burned or KO'd by a big fire attack. Tera Blast sets with Tera Fairy or Tera Ghost are also there, but aren't as useful as the set here. Iron Head and Poison Jab can replace Temper Flare and Gunk Shot respectively for strong, accurate STAB attacks, and Taunt can also be ran.

Here are some replays of the team:
- VS Hyper Offense
- VS Balanced Sand
- VS Soft Stall
- VS Screens Offense

This team performs better in Mid Ladder, but who knows if it might be good in High Ladder!
Thanks for reading! See ya!

FWG Balance

I've been having great success with this team on ladder, reaching 1500+ on a practically undefeated run. It has a few unorthodox sets, but nothing that I would call "gimmicky". Here's a rundown of the players and my analysis of them:

Scizor: Banded
I was a huge Scizor hater before I used it, as I only ever ran into SD sets which felt ineffectual. However, the immediate presence provided by Choice Band is significant. Tera Steel BP hits great thresholds has gotten me some undeserved-feeling wins. U-turn can chunk and keep up momentum, Knock is a free middle-ground, and CC can brutalize slow teams.
Serperior: Mono-Grass
Some ill-prepared teams can lose to this set on team preview, and better teams have to tread lightly not to. Glare is a busted-good move and lets Serp out-speed the handful of mons it didn't already. Tera Electric cuts down some of the RNG needed to beat Tornadus-Therian (it can still do so without it) and lets you dodge para when relevant. Obviously, this set is easily walled by certain mons, Hydrapple, for instance. However, this team is quite good at taking advantage of those forced switches.
Heatran: Scarf
Doesn't 'Tran look just dashing in that choice scarf? This one catches folks off-guard just about every game. Heatran hits a great speed-tier even with Modest, which allows it to slap far harder than expected with Fire Blast. EP is for obvious coverage. Dark pulse punishes Slowking and Latios on the switch. Rocks don't matter because of these things called Heavy-duty boots, but if you need 'em, there ya go. If you're cool, you can run Steel Beam instead (don't). Tera Flying buys you that extra turn of damage vs Fighting/Ground users.
Toxapex: Eject Button
Another mon that I was skeptical of before I used it. It's not busted-good, but it comes in clutch frequently. Tera Fairy can wall out tons of threats that it didn't already check. Eject button I was skeptical of initially, but it ends up being the most-free momentum-starter you could ask for. Bounce into Scizor/Latios to punch holes, Serp to spread para, or 'Tran to outpace (unexpectedly!). Sometimes I wish I could stay in when some HO team starts setting up right out the gate, but this is rare. Pex doesn't actually need Leftovers/Helmet/Boots to beat the things it wants to beat (most of the time). Frankly, they're probably getting knocked off anyway. Learning the team, I definitely forgot about the item more than I'd like to admit, but I think it's worth it overall.
Latios: Soul Dew
I did a lot of tinkering with the set for this team, but I've found this iteration to be the best. Everyone thinks it's specs/scarf, but you don't need the damage (or the speed, really). Draco Meteor is disgustingly strong; if you can click it, you should likely do so. LP is a strong middle-ground option, and the lack of choice-item means you can LP into Draco. Flip turn is fantastic to maintain momentum and is free chip after a Draco (though it may be prudent to bluff specs/scarf). Recover helps longetivy for positioning in an endgame. IMO, Tera Steel is the best for its resistances in the late game, but Tera Electric is viable and better if you're running into lots of paralysis.
Donphan: AV, Double-Ice
No EQ? Heresy! Donphan is one of those mons that is so, so easy to slot into any team, and this one is no exception. However, this set is far trickier than most. Firstly, AV gives Donphan an unusual amount of special bulk. I take Knock Off over EQ for the utility and for the fact that everyone always expects EQ, so what's the point? It's not exactly Latios's Draco, either. Knock is especially good at slapping Slowking and getting rid of Rocky Helmets for Scizor. Rapid spin is nice to keep hazards off, but don't lose any sleep if you can't; I don't think I've ever had this team lose to accumulated chip. The real star of the show is Ice Spinner + Ice Shard. One is expected, never both. I have KO'd many, many Hydrapple, Zarude, Thunderus-Therian, and Tornadus-Therian with this 1-2 combo. You may notice that this helps clear the way for Serp, and this is intentional. I almost never Tera Donphan, and it is almost always the first sack unless I know Shard will be important.
Additional Thoughts
  • This team is very Tera-agnostic; no single mon relies on it to win, and many games are won without it.
    • Typically, you should be using it to guarantee/near-guarantee a win in and endgame.
    • Do not burn it on some Hyperoffense-style read.
  • Rotom-Wash can be a turd to deal with.
  • Slither Wing can 6-0 you if you're not careful.

EDIT: This is my first team breakdown, and second ever post (The first one was on a "Break this Team" in 2019 [lol]). Please feel free to DM me/reply with opinions about my formatting, the team, etc. Thanks!

EDIT 7/1/25: With Scizor's rise to OU, the team loses a valuable mid-game progress maker and end-game cleaner. Lokix is the most obvious replacement, with access to priority and a strong U-turn. Slither Wing is another consideration for those same reasons, one that I think I prefer. Other new considerations as I rework this team:
  • Tinkaton's return, which I tentatively consider to be a neutral change for this team.
  • Deoxys-S's departure, offensive variants of which could previously give this team some trouble.

Hi UU!

I'm here to make a post on the strongest rodent ever known to mankind:
1751404450121.png
this guy right here.

1751404576823.png

Here's the team.

This might come up as a pretty wild claim, but as the tiers stands right now, I believe there's not a single mon who's more effective at sheer wallbreaking than Pawmot. I'm surely not the first person to notice this, and you ocasionally see some Pawmot's on the ladder, but I felt like it was (and is) still underexplored, so I decided to build around it. This happened some months ago, when I built a similar team, featuring Meowscarada and Cobalion over Zarude and Skarm, and it performed extremely well, carrying me into top 3 and a 1710-1720 peak. I considered making a post by that time, but the Meow suspect was around and I didn't want to post something that would be outdated a week later. Thus, I abandoned the team and built other stuff, but after a while I felt like the idea kept coming back to me, and that's how this team came to be.

I feel that this is, by far, my best build yet; it's incredibly consistent, has excellent matchups against most meta teams and feels easy to pilot. Also got me my highest elo by far, peaking rank 2 at 1751. So, while I share it, I'll go into details of every mon's role, matchup nuances and warnings for anyone using it, as well as sharing some replays.

Pawmot:
It's the whole reason for the team to exist. CB Pawmot 2-hits everything in the tier except for max defense Donphan and Sinistcha, to whom it deals 40-ish with Ice Punch, so it's basically a delete button whenever you predict right, and a pretty fast at that (339 speed is actually excelent for UU, getting the jump on Thundy and Shocks among others). It offers strong priority with Mach Punch too and an impressive amount of raw power with Tera Electric Double Shock too, so if a sweeper gets out of hand, either prio or the tera nuke will probably deal with it. Finally, even resists tend to get blown if they're not bulky (252 Atk Choice Band Pawmot Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Tornadus-Therian: 162-191 (44.7 - 52.7%) -- 25% chance to 2HKO), and, as frail as Pawmot is, it doesn't get forced out by Torn-T so revenge killing it can be hard for some slow teams. Finally, the ability choice is Natural Cure to make it more consistent against Flame Body Heatran and switch and exploit Mandibuzz without fearing Toxic, but Volt Absorb and mainly Iron Fist do have some use, and the set is what I believe to be optimal but Knock Off can be fit in too.

The thing is, as strong as Pawmot may be, both of it's stabs have immunities, and Ice Punch is a nice midground but doesn't come close to the power of the STABs; furthermore, Double Shock is really exploitable if you don't wanna commit to tera. That's why, even if midground plays and careful analysis of what your opponent is more likely to risk can get you to make valuable plays most of the time, you gotta expect some of them to go wrong. Moreover, even if they go right, you might get a kill and get forced out right after. So the rest of the team must have a solid defensive core to cover for this switches, hazard support and pivoting to bring Pawmot in.

Zarude:
Zarude is a pretty tried and true mon in UU by now. It's nice speed control, brings knock off support, is effective bringing in and pivoting on walls Pawmot can take advantage of and also cleans up quite effectively. Also helps to round out the defensive core, checking Greninja and Sandy Shocks and being able to stomach a lot of hits on a pinch thanks to it's great bulk. Biggest flaw is it's hazard weakness.

Donphan:
Considering how hazard-weak the offensive core, the first part of the defensive backbone is having hazard removal. I go with a boots set to be less weak to spikes and also keep sturdy intact, which can be really helpful against offense/HO. This is usually an underperformer on the team, and it's only structural purpose is removing hazards (and helping against H-Arc and Revavroom, but those aren't so common), so you can use it for getting value without worrying too much about it's health. It can get spinblocked easily but Sinistcha is often forced to Tera against Fez, and Dirge gets 2-hit by EQ into burnt EQ, so you can still pretty effectively pressure hazard stack builds.

Slowking:
Good old Slowking, nothing new here. FS support makes Pawmot even more unwallable, which is really nice paired with Chilly Reception for bringing it in. It can get overwhelmed sometimes, considering it's tasked with scouting Latios, switching into Heatran, sometimes Dirge and whatever the battle may require. Even then, Slowking-Skarm-Fez cover each other's weaknesses really well. It's usually dead weight in the HO MU so feel free to throw it at mons, get some damage and sack it to preserve key health on Skarm and Fez.

Skarmory:
I really love this mon. It will usually take on 2-3 opposing mons just by itself, while getting up SR, having Whirlwind for phasing sweepers and generally mess with the opponent and being generally reliable. Lokix, Drill, Zarude, Cornerpon (kinda, you'd rather check it offensively with Zarude + Mach Punch), Donphan, Metagross, Ttar and a really long etc. usually lose to you, and that's important since having both spinners beaten means hazards are usually up. It's also an excellent knock absorber.

Fez:
As much as Torn-T might be the undeniable goat of the tier, AV Torn usually iffy as a sole special wall (it does a lot of other things tho). That's why, after testing with Torn at the first version, I resorted to my long date friend Fez, which has never failed me and is right now celebrating a fresh rise to UU proper. It blanket checks almost every special attacker with help from Slowking, tera Steel can be really potent, and Toxic Chain is just broken. Usually, the plan against Dirge is to just switch Fez, fish for poison and then it's basically over for the gator, and I think this interaction tells a lot about how Toxic Chain lets you beat things you absolutely shouldn't. It's a great pivot while also spreading poison, gives the team a great response to Torn-T, and more importantly has Spa investment to dish out decent damage. Since the team has only two special attackers, I wanted it to not be so passive, so it can pressure and 2-Hit-KO Skarm and offensive Drill with heat wave, and also one-shots most Scizor. Moonblast is also great for dealing with Rotom-W, Conk or Hydrapple among others.

Some Notes:
The Stall MU is pretty dominant, consists on clicking FS + whatever move on Pawmot and deleting the opponent, but can get tricky if you let hazards stack.
Sinistcha and Dirge can wall Fez with tera poison, so you'll want to save tera for Pawmot to blow them up with double shock after they used tera, since otherwise they might get out of hand.
Deo-S is a real pain for this team, so offering a trade with Donphan (sturdy intact ofc) and getting a knock off is something you'll really want to do if you can. Many opponents accept it, but if they don't, then tera steel fez is your best shot probably.
Specs Gren can get scary, since it 2-Hits Fez with Surf, be careful around it. Same with SD Lokix if Skarmory is not healthy.

Perhaps a team that could be posted on sv uu bazaar thread but decided to give it a shot posting here as well, it has worked fairly well on ladder/test games even if the initial idea was to just mess around with (mostly) ru pokes that has good sinergies lol.

I originally started with gapdos, and i knew i wanted something that could take advantage of defensive pokes it could generate momentum on with u-turn, which would either be stuff like slowking/skarm/pex/dirge or a pokemon using reactive tera, defensively speaking.

Basculegion-F fits perfectly as another RU poke i wanted to use + being an interesting breaker in the meta right now given how lackluster are the ghost + water resist(s) on some teams atm while still having a decent enough defensive profile to check heatran/keldeo/revra.

Jirachi and fezan were chosen to check some pokemon that i couldn't quite always rkill with gap, like scarf latios/jugulis/tera'd ogerpon/torn while also being able to generate momentum for basc baiting in heatran and exca (the later can be threatened by basc as long as you're healthy enough and don't mind trading damage if they decide to stay in) while also being a switch and check to pokemon like skeledirge and tera'd hydrapple. Jirachi particularly also helps with wish + spreading para for basculegion.

With Cornerpon being everywhere and gap + fezandipiti still having a possibility to lose to some zarude sets i decided to use leech seed chesnaught to cover them, which also provides me a spiker + knocker and a secondary water resist for the rain + helps with sand MU too.

For the last slot i decided to try another lower tier fun pokemon in gligar, which actually has a pretty nice defensive profile (specially if you think about its MU into stuff like revavroom and most thundurus) while having access to some pretty good moves in exchange of having non existent stats. You can definitely try out Donphan here for similar results while having hazard control but i really like having u-turn to generate more opportunities for basc.

Game plans with this team tends to be mostly simple with 3 defensive pivots + gapdos generating momentum for specs basc. Although u-turn is a pretty simple no brainer move to click with gapdos, sometimes it's worth getting an early knock on a predicted slowking/skarm switch to make it harder for them to check gapdos later in the game if you feel like gap has a bigger chance of being a threat than basc (if you're facing a solid ghost and/or water resist). Don't be afraid to get agressive switch ins or doubles to get Basculegion in if you feel the MU won't allow you to pivot it in that easily or just trade it early on to get damage on something vs faster paced teams

Other options:

Gapdos can use tera fly or even dark/steel, but i like fighting just because the added power in cc can be pretty good for cleaning compared to steel's defensive utility, i never felt like i needed the extra damage with brave bird compared to making it weak to rocks. Max speed is also possible to tie with max base 100s/outspeeding scarf hydras or +1 haxorus lol but scarf hydra shouldn't be a big issue to this team and i haven't really been in a position where i needed to risk those ties, so i just opted to make it fast enough for hisui arcanine.

Basc has enough speed for stuff that creeps ada max azu (200 speed mandis/sinistchas) but you can definitely go with more speed (max speed, 240/241 for max ada metagross, perhaps 230/231 for older heatrans spread that still speedcreeps max ada scizor, 223/224 for max ada ttar etc), flip turn/ajet is also possible over hydro but i like the extra nuke in case i need to hit something harder.

Jirachis tera can be realistically be some other type, i had water mostly to have a backup check to gren/rain but i don't use it that often so it's not that huge. It also can be slower, the current speed outspeeds para'd +1 base 110s like scarf latios/tera'd ogerpon + jugulis but you can go slower (240/241 outspeeds ada max metagross, 0 speed evs + 28 speed IVs underspeeds 0 speed fezan so you can get a slow uturn)

Fezandipiti can underspeed even more depending on if you have another target to get a slow uturn on, use 240/241 for max ada metagross if you opt for heat wave over moon/beatup or 263 for the same jirachi benchmark.

Gligars tera is also whatever, mostly had ghost in case i need to emergency spinblock but water/fairy/steel could prob work too. Spdef evs avoid the 3hko from Psychic and Focus blast after rocks iirc while 24 speed IVs underspeeds 200 mandis and sinistcha so i can slow pivot on them if needed. As mentioned before you can also try Donphan on this slot for a more sturdy poke + hazard control in exchange of having one less pivot.

Some replays with it (didn't get many but i didn't save some of them because ladder teams are just.... interesting to say the least.)

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9uu-2396461496
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9uu-2396946728 - dc'd but should be won from that position lol

(forgot to save one vs a stallish team but since it's a hard MU you have to try to get hazards + spread knock asap and force annoying sequences with gap and basc, gap mainly because of knock uturn annoying stabs, and punish a misplay from them and/or extreme passiveness)

PS: A skarm weakness was pointed out and it's a valid one, options worth considering are thunder > wish (or even over bslam maybe) on jirachi and heat wave > moonblast or taunt > beat up on fezandipiti

Hey UU! I was playing a bit of OU with Latios a while back and my team had both Latios and Tinkaton on it. When I saw Tinkaton in UU again, I knew I had to make a UU team with those 2. After testing the team with Ogerpon-Teal over Lokix for a bit, I didn't like it, and looked at other knockers, and Lokix fit the bill excellently. After running this team, I found it to be very fun since I enjoy balance teams, and also quite effective since I reached Top 100, around 1550 ELO. It is possible I could go a bit higher, but as of recent haven't been feeling it and have been more focused on Randbats once more. Although, this tier was really fun and so was my team, so maybe someone else could have fun with it. And who knows? Maybe it's a really damn good team. All I know it's a team that works well for me and I hope it can work well for others, too.

(click me!)

When constructing this team, obviously I started with the sets from OU that I had been using- Soul Dew Latios with Flip Turn and Air Balloon Tinkaton. I gave Latios Luster Purge over Psychic Noise since it's standard, but I imagine either could work as Psychic Noise Latios would definitely help versus stall teams.

Tinkaton was a little more interesting to convert to my liking for UU: Firstly, Mold Breaker is pretty much obsolete, as there's no Gholdengo or Hatterene, so Pickpocket becomes an easy choice, as stealing Boots/Lefties/pretty much everything is really nice for the hazard core of the team. Secondly and more importantly, the EVs. I run 240 Spe EVs w/ Jolly on this Tinkaton. These EVs do two things: The first is that it outruns Jolly Lokix, which I wanted to be safer than sorry against, even if Adamant is more common, alongside the second point, which is that it speed creeps other Tinkaton. I've seen my fair share of Tinkatons on ladder, and not once did my Tinkaton get outsped by the other Tinkaton, which was really nice. Tinkaton also being Tera Ghost is quite since to have a second spinblock in a pinch.

I looked at other balance teams that were posted pre-shift, and found the currently posted Balance Team, and tried out the 3 pair there of Gastrodon, Tornadus-Therian, and Skeledirge. It was good, but not entirely to my liking, so I altered the EVs on Skeledirge, changed Tornadus's Tera type to Water due to personal preference, changed Gastrodon's Tera type to Poison and replaced Stealth Rock with Spikes due to Tinkaton being the rocker of choice on this team. Gastrodon's Tera type helps a lot versus Pokemon I'd consider somewhat annoying vs this team, such as Ogerpon(both, but mainly Teal), Azumarill, and Hydrapple.

Finally, I needed a Knock Off Pokemon with some Speed or Priority. I was personally looking at Ogerpon-Teal, Zarude, and Lokix. I tried out Ogerpon, but felt the lack of priority really biting, and so went and stuck with a standard Lokix set that manages to always put in work provided you play well.

Generally, the way this team plays is adaptable, with 3 pivots either switching between each other or into fat mons to lay hazards and wall shit out. Dirge can spinblock Donphan pretty consistently, but with Excadrill you obviously have to be more cautionary, generally the way you're gonna play vs it is pop the balloon (if it has one) and pressure it over the course of a game with hazards. Gastrodon scares it out or weakens it into range for Lokix to revenge (or if it's Sand Rush, Tera Latios is excellent versus it)

Your general gameplan is gonna be get hazards up, get knocks off early on key walls and Latios, Lokix and Tornadus become really obnoxious to deal with, pivoting all over. Other tricks include Encore/Twave Tinkaton to shut down many setup attempts, Taunt Tornadus to deny enemy hazards (often less important but worth noting) and recovery moves. Sometimes, you will have to Tera out of certain situations, and that's okay if you have some forethought about the decision.

I think this team is customizable for sure, and certain Tera Types and EVs can be changed to one's own likings. Even Pokemon probably could, I wouldn't doubt Sinistcha being decent alternatively to Skeledirge due to it's much better Excadrill MU.

I would say some threats to this Team are Specs Greninja, SD Mold Breaker Excadrill, and stallier teams, but these can be managed with good play and tricks such as Tornadus taunt to deny recovery moves. It's mainly that Skarm is super annoying to break on such fat teams. I imagine putting Psychic Noise or Psyshock on Latios could defintely help versus fatter teams, for sure.

Here's a couple replays showcasing the team vs teams that I thought were good (there's not that many good teams that I found actually so a couple repeats are here but still. ladder is very weird sometimes!)

VS garde HO 2 (ignore me forgetting the gardevoir traced tinted lens im shit)

Sorry if this is somewhat hard to read; I'm not always the greatest at making being paragraphs :(

New samples are up for the July shifts metagame! Thank you to everyone who submitted teams. Feel free to continue posting in this thread however, the more the merrier!
