Welcome everyone to this year's iteration of the RBY NU Cup!​
The RBY NU Cup is a part of this year's edition of the NU Classic, where competitors play RBY, GSC, ADV, and DPP for a chance to become the NU Classic Champion! Players can earn points from their placements in each cup in order to reach the playoffs, where they will then compete in a top eight bracket.

Here are some of the rules to be held for this tournament:



  • This is a standard RBY NU tournament.
  • Best of three, single elimination.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown!
  • Saving replays is mandatory for this tournament. In the event of a dispute you must be able to prove that you won your game. I would strongly encourage you to play your games on the Smogon Tournaments PS! Server since it automatically saves replays.
  • Do not make baseless activity posts, get in contact with your opponent and report missed times / scheduling issues only.
  • Standard clauses apply. All the usual Smogon rules regarding activity, timer, disconnection, and ghosting rules apply. General tournament rules and regulations can be found here.

hammer798 and Maris Bonibell it has come to my attention that very recently Victreebel has been added to the NU builder, even though the VRs had changed the tiering of it a few weeks ago. After bringing it up with colleagues and thinking about this privately, I have decided to NOT allow it in the finals week for this tournament. If there are any more questions please feel free to DM me, thank you.
