Seeding was done with ELO being the main factor as in previous editions.

Tournament rules:
  • General tournament rules and regulations can be found here.
  • The 2025 National Dex Circuit information can be found here.
  • Best of three, single elimination.
  • This tournament will use the standard National Dex ban list, which can be found here.
  • If metagame changes occur during the middle of a round, they will take effect in the subsequent round.
  • Battles must take place on Pokemon Showdown! or the SmogTours server
  • SV cartridge win conditions are in place; there are no ties.
  • A list of National Dex specific mechanics can be found here.

I usually have a strict rule of not doing ND individuals because of burn out, but Ryuji winning both team tournaments sparked my interest as a competitor enough to want to compete in one. Usually I just support my friends that ask for help in these, but playing and building my teams for once was a nice experience. I'll admit I faced some burn out near the end and wasn't too confident in my finals picks, but it all worked out for the best.

Want to give shout outs to slopcat TBE
3cho @lost(get unbanned bro) and Lameflame who chopped it up with me every week when they didn't have to. I'm so used to building things alone and I don't really talk to anyone about building outside of test games, so this was a really nice change and I thank you guys again. Like the rest of my friends, if you ever need anything you can always ask and ill deliver. Also ty to my duck friends Expulso Lyssa Denial Who keep up with my nat dex antics LOL it is nice to be able to just casually talk about what im doing, even if you guys dont play it.

I also want to thank everyone who tested with me in the ND room, if you ever see me online and say "anyone sv" 99% of the time in testing a team. So everytime I got farmed or won I learned something that helped the building process, so thanks again.

Only negative I have is unrelated to the tournament but mostly the opinion that nd stale and theres no room for creativity atm. There's so many cool strategies and mons to use as long as the execution is good. I challenge everyone to innovate not only as a competitor but as someone that just genuinely enjoys the tier.

Ggs and gz. I enjoyed a lot building and playing in this tier again after so many years when i used to play tons of this back in 2020 in ladder when ss pre dlcs was unplayable, and now that sv is totally unplayable, here i am again. Big thanks to the tls for banning tera cuz thats what made me enjoy this game again <3
