What are the specifics (moves, EV spread, etc.) for Ceruledge's Bulk Up set? The current analysis doesn't list it, it's not on the Showdown calculator, and there doesn't seem to be a WIP in C&C.

BU Ceru (Ceruledge) @ Leftovers/Covert Cloak
Ability: Flash Fire
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 116 SpD / 84 Spe
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Bitter Blade
- Shadow Sneak
- Taunt
This is a spread I found back from May. This is probably just the standard ngl, but people have been using Tera Bug.

How do you block volt switch in this meta? It feels like all of the meta offensive ground types lose to zapdos (even treads loses to it if it's running heat wave)

Zapdos running heat wave are uncommon, so treads woks in the majority of cases, but Ting Lu and Gliscor are pretty much top-notch zapdos busters

Can Ting-Lu run protect to increase its longevity by increasing Leftovers healing?
On some stalls it does along with it absorbing future sight, but generally Ting Lu prefers other moves such as Ruination or Whirlwind. If you want to increase Ting Lu's longevity, then Rest-talk sets are the way to go.

why isn't pinchurchin in the viability list anymore?
it is the only electric surge user of the meta.
what caused it to lose its niche?
E-terrain is simply put, completely bad. In theory, having all these Pokemon that abuse it sound good, but pinchurchin is so bad that it's basically playing 5v6. The niche is still there, it's just not worth it. Other terrains are just better, primarily g-terrain, but psychic terrain can have its moments once in a blue moon.

Is Colbur Berry usable on Galarian Slowking if I already have sufficient hazard removal?
Depends on what you're going to do with the space Colbur develops vs Heavy Duty Boots. Theoretically anything is usable in the right situation so it depends on what your goals are and how realistic the situations you're planning for are vs other options. Remember, berries are one-time use so if you fail to get value out of it you were better off running something else.

Shouldn't it at least be D rank as it's the only way to use a Future Paradox team? and the Future Paradox mons are really good in it

No, it shouldn't be D rank. It is legit so bad. Yes, you get cracked mons like ival, but you can also just use these mons outside of e-terrain and probably get just as good results without having a complete deadslot.

Simply put, Pincurchin does not represent much of a niche because the benefits of Electric Terrain being provided to the Future Paradox Mons (of which 4 appear in B+ or higher viability), while by no means insignificant, has to essentially compensate for Pincurchin itself being a slot that contributes very little progress outside of setting the Terrain vs what a "normal" Pokemon would do alongside the non-Terrain versions of said mons.

It's also not helped by Electric Terrain just being a much more limited form of support than, say, Sun (besides the Paradoxes, it also benefits Fire types obviously, more niche things like Chlorophyll sweepers, and inhibits Water attackers like Wellspring) on top of the latter's more viable/supportive setters.

I apologize if this is not the correct place to post this question.
it was either here or the "metagame discussion" thread.

I noticed that ceruledge has made it to OU, what caused it to raise after being ignored for so long?

Hello im recently gotten into Pokemon vgc. Would someone be really nice and link some sample teams for OU having a hard time finding it

The combination of synergy with other good Aurora Veil threats, and just being extremely threatening if it has a chance to set up, which Veil enables. It's probably not going to remain in OU for long due to Veil teams falling off, but it'll always hang around in the 'just waiting for a favorable meta' category.

When a Pokemon"hits the top of OU" (eg Jolteon) does it have to be starting from a fresh account/1000 ELO? What's the difference if someone gets to 1900's when switches to the Jolteon team, then hits the top of the ladder? Does it still count? At what ELO does it still count as that Pokemon hitting the top?

part of the reason espartha got banned was her speed boost ability, If hypothetically there was a second speed boost pokemon which was banworthy due to its ability, would smogon ban that pokemon as well or would it ban the speed boost ability? (thus turning non-broken speed boost users like blaziken to completely useless).

Most likely not, Espathra was banned for more than it’s speed boost, this Pokemon would likely be as well, and though you could take away speed boost and make them balanced, it’s not the sole broken factor and thus won’t be banned. Especially since there’s other speed boost users which are fine.

I think that if there were only 2 Speed Boost Pokemon (lets say Espathra and Blaziken, a notoriously banned Mon in previous generations) and both were considered broken with Speed Boost and balanced without it (lets be real, both Espathra and Blaziken without Speed Boost are RU at the very best), a case could be made to ban the ability instead of the Mons.

However, Blaziken is nowhere near broken this Gen, neither is Yanmega, so this discussion will remain in the theorymon area.
