beware that these predicts are going to be inaccurate as fuck because i have never watched a PH game in my life. or a gen 7 bh game for that matter (are z crystals legal?)

gen9bh: Wheaty vs. Betticus IV
gen9bh: rightclicker vs. Jojen
wheaty and rc are both tried and tested and have decent support behind them. i don't think betticus has that much experience in the tier and i was assuming jojen was a PH player, although clearly I'm wrong. technically resh's have hallward and mamp as support but i don't think it's a controversial take to say that this is probably the weakest team in terms of 9bh.

mamp is the goat

gen7bh: jasprose vs. Ineros
i'm pretty sure jas has experience in 7bh, although i could be very wrong. ineros is a great player but my question is mamp going to be able to support this slot sufficiently?

natdexbh: Clas vs. AM
I can guarantee you AM has played a total of 0 natdex BH games. They were in NDAMPL playing GG so one might assume they could steal their tm8's teams buuut their team only managed one natdex BH win (and that was after their team was already out of the tour). so yeah. rough

gen9bh: maybca vs. ANinjaDude
gen9bh: FlamPoke vs. Quinn
The Sigma Star Kyogres have two of 9bh's best builders on hand, which automatically gives them the win in the builder department. ANinjaDude is well-versed with the tier so gets mainer bias, but Quinn only has him and sevaag as building buddies. Ninja is definitely good but he is going to struggle to support two slots at once, and sevaag has not had the best time in 9bh this year so my hopes are not high.
e2: i have been told by cotta that maybca and rumia are also shiest

gen8bh: Osake vs. Nihilslave
fraudsake vs goatslave who would win

gen7bh: Mickle314 vs. anaconja
ik anaconja isn't enjoying the 20 smth k price tag but it is for a reason, and that is that they are one of the best BH players to ever do it.

natdexbh: lemonstre1 vs. XxLazzerpenguinxX
lemonstre is a BH player, but I've never seen them play natdex BH, so I will give sevaag the predict for this week

gen6ph: realExcaliju vs. Sheep Liver
gen6ph bo3: jb291 vs. Ransei

SV BH: Wheaty vs. Betticus IV (51 - 49)
I think Betticus is actually quite solid at BH (has claimed games off even the top of players) and can find/build teams so I think this is a rather even matchup. However I suspect he might be mental booming over getting baited by me (iykyk).

SV BH: rightclicker vs. Jojen (60 - 40)
Jojen has some BH experience and results (iirc undefeated in Majors BH using samples) though I don't think the opponents were particularly known BH mains. As such especially with rightclicker's generally unorthodox builds I'll give rightclicker the edge.

SS BH: Jqlove vs. MAMP (45 - 55)
Very close and hype game, both are very great SS players so we should be seeing a game of high skill expression hopefully. MAMP is probably a bit more self sufficient so giving advantage to MAMP, provided they don't get their Poison Heal mon not-poisoned.

SM BH: jasprose vs. Ineros (60 - 40)
SM BH has knowledge check and I don't think 1 week is enough for Ineros to catch up to everything. Jasprose is also quite solid even if some builds are more archaic ish.

ND BH: Clas vs. AM (65 - 35)
NDBH is obviously not the stablest of tiers so there is some variance here, but otherwise Clas has significantly more experience and people to bounce with while AM needs to play catchup and somehow get a team.

SV BH: maybca vs. ANinjaDude (52 - 48)
I actually think maybca's ideas and playing are solid, and the teambuilding part is supplemented by very strong builders that can cook up illegal teams. For that reason I give slightest edge to them.

SV BH: FlamPoke vs. Quinn (55 - 45)
Quinn had a fire run in OMPL, but supposedly they had pannu passing teams, and there is no pannu passing teams now. FlamPoke didn't showcase too much BH, but did win in a well played game against fififlutters. Since they have better support and plays seem comparable giving to FlamPoke.

SS BH: Osake vs. Nihilslave (35 - 65)
Osake isn't bad but Nihilslave is very very solid and its SS BH the most skill testing one.

SM BH: Mickle314 vs. anaconja (40 - 60)
I think SM is volatile enough to not go more than these odds, but anaconja is super diverse with their teams while Mickle had been more linear, even with city support I think anaconja is favoured.

ND BH: lemonstre1 vs. XxLazzerpenguinxX (40 - 60)
If Sevag doesn't choke during game he should be pretty favoured here since I don't believe lemonstre is familiar at all with ND and this happens to be what I think as the weakest supporting tier for their managers, while Sevag is well versed and has anaconja support.

Despite the triple bold I expect more or less 2-1 Giraffes
gen7ph: sussyamongusdrip (65-70) vs. betathunder (30-35)
sussy will likely have positive matchup given their and Eyeos' building styles and generally more precisely made teams. I like betathunder as a pilot in other tiers but playing ability is not particularly important in USUM.
gen6ph: LycanrocWastaken (55-60) vs. Maxouille (40-45)
Again, Lycanroc likely has positive matchup thanks to the gap in building support quality. Max is probably a slightly stronger pilot though
gen6ph bo3: Glory (85) s. Iguana (15)
Iguana isn't terrible (and I think they've tried to adjust to modern ORAS) but Glory will bring significantly more effective teams and has more recent experience. The number next to Glory is big but not as big as it may seem at first glance – I favor Glory about 75-25 each individual game. Wouldn't count out an Iguana win

gen7ph: adriancosmoem (42) vs. cscl (58)
adrian's teams are generally potent and I feel I'm complimenting them by making this relatively close. However, I think they sometimes have issues vs. opposing offense and overly rely on smashing through everything in as few turns as possible as opposed to getting more value out of interactions than the opponent, which can be exploited by cscl's style. Akira support counts for something ofc but probably less than people think
gen6ph: realExcaliju (68) vs. Sheep Liver (32)
Far stronger pilot, and with what they learned on the Necrozmas may get neutral-ish matchup. I'm excited to see what Excaliju comes up with
gen6ph bo3: jb291 (55) vs. Ransei (45)
Honestly very close imo, comes down to whether Ransei can adequately counter jb's usual tendencies since the latter will have limited building support at best. Bolding jb because I don't think Ransei's fully adapted to modern ORAS and jb is the stronger pilot

literally the former metagame leader vs. the current metagame leader :jaseballed:

2. Chessking345 vs. pannu (SV BH)
Chessking vs. Pannu? This looks familiar...

3. Glory vs. Iguana (ORAS PH Bo3)
oras ph bo3 mu try not to be a banger challenge (difficulty: IMPOSSIBLE)

4. jb291 vs. Ransei (ORAS PH Bo3)
these two teams are both ranked as the best ph-wise soooo

5. realExcaliju vs. Sheep Liver (ORAS PH)
same reason
 
PH Matchups:

:kyogre-primal: Sigma Star Kyogres (51.7) vs (48.3) Smurfin' Smeargles :smeargle:
- Gen 6 PH: realExcaliju (60) vs. (40) Sheep Liver
Excaliju has gotten good at ORAS and overall I favor their builds more. I also generally favor them more as a player. I do think Sheep Liver generally builds more creatively, so if they playtest and play well during the match I think they could definitely win. But overall I favor Excaliju here
- Gen 6 PH Bo3: jb291 (60) vs. (40) Ransei
Honestly I think this comes down to jb291 having better team support imo. I think otherwise these players are pretty evenly matched, maybe with Ransei having a slight negative matchup.
- Gen 7 PH: adriancosmoem (35) vs. (65) cscl
AV Cosmoem has good builds, but cscl is very good at prepping/scouting and is hard to prep against. I also don't think a lot of AV's teams match up particularly well into a lot of the out-of-the-box things I've seen cscl bring. cscl also has a record to match their reputation

Overall a close matches! I look forward to watching these

I overall favor Lycanroc as the better pilot, and they have great team support with Glory on their squad. I think they are likely to bring a better team because of that.
- Gen 6 PH Bo3: Glory (70) vs. (30) Iguana
Iguana is good, but Glory is a better pilot and builder overall imo. Maybe 30 is a little too low but Glory has a knack for being able to really exploit all the most broken aspects of the metagame.
- Gen 7 PH: sussyamongusdrip (??) vs. (??) betathunder
I've never seen betathunder play PH before but sussyamongusdrip is pretty good at gen 7 PH. betathunder has Eyeos from teambuilding support though which is valuable. But yeah I'm just not sure how this is gonna go. I favor sussyamongusdrip cause I've seen them play before.
