Onto the next cycle we go:

Zapdos-Galar

:ss/zapdos-galar:

Boasting a high physical attack and access to an interesting signature move in Thunderous Kick, Galarian Zapdos can function as a niche breaker on some teams. Its STAB moves compliment each other well, making it become quite hard to switch in against especially when taking into account the drops from Thunderous Kick. It also boasts decent coverage, as well as access to Bulk Up and Taunt, potentially making it a threatening setup sweeper. How will you build around this forgotten legendary bird?

Submissions close Saturday 9th August or whenever we get at least 1 sub, whichever comes lastest!

For this week I decided to make a birdspam team around Gapdos in order to make it more interesting for myself.

The Birds Don't Sleep - Galarian Zapdos + Mega Aerodactyl Birdspam
Team name and nicknames are inspired by the new Clipse album. Shits fire.

Explanations:
:Zapdos-Galar:
I started with this guy of course cus hes the feature mon, but the thing that made me think of using it on Birdspam was this post. I think the concept of using Gapdos for it is extremely underexplored because it opens up some cool things in the builder that Mega Pinsir builds can't do because they are often pigeonholed into running Magnezone alongside it.

:Aerodactyl-Mega:
This is our lead, and I'd like to credit Boomenheimer for the set. This thing is the fastest rocks setter in the tier, and also functions as an amazing anti-lead against webs and some sun builds. It is also a functional revenge killer.

:Melmetal:
2nd wallbreaker + check for special attackers that would typically eat the team up such as Ash Gren. We can afford to run it because we no longer need Zone thanks to Gapdos.

:Volcarona:
Late game sweeper. Sub is nice in saving it from being revenge killed. Shoutout Oculars for having me put boots on bro instead of lefties.

:Jirachi:
A nice pivot, revenge killer, and healing wish is extremely good in the late game for these HO teams. I also like it here alongside melmetal because its another check for some annoying special attackers that eat up the team, and melm cant take hits forever.

:Thundurus-Therian:
I dont like making teams that get 6-0'd by volt switch spam, so I brought my guy in. I like toxic on it in order to help wear down certain mons that this team finds annoying. The rest of the moves are pretty self explanatory.

Heres a replay even though the ladder is dead asf

With 2 Votes, GOATED im_m0rtal. wins this cycle!

Onto the next cycle we scurry:

Celesteela

:sm/celesteela:

Boasting a great typing and stats, Celesteela can function as an effective answer to common foes such as Landorus-T and Gliscor, being able to recover health and deal damage effectively via Leech Seed and its solid coverage. It also gets access to Meteor Beam and Automize, which when coupled with Beast Boost can spiral out of control easily functioning as a setup sweeper. How will you build around this Ultra Beast?

Onto the next cycle we scuttle:

Mega Charizard-X

:sm/Charizard-Mega-X:

Boasting a high attack stat and a good offensive typing, Mega Charizard-X functions as a dangerous wincon, being able to leverage either Swords Dance or Dragon Dance to break or sweep. It also other good options in Roost and Earthquake, allowing it to hit Heatran and improve its longevity. How will you build around this powerful mega?

Here is a Hazard Control Mega zard x team.

Hattarene:
This is the main hazard controller of the team preventing rocks from going up helping charizard setup later one.
Mandibuz: Such a cool mon this is the defesive back-bone of the team helping interaction with other Set-up sweepers like Mega gyarados with foul play and can be your back-up defoger if needed.
Rilaboom: This is to help check mons which koko cannot break like gastrodon and help with passive recovery. The bulk on Rillaboom helps with specs koko as this team strugles against it a little but with AV hattarene and melmetal you should be able to manage it pretty comfortably.
Mega Charizard X: The main breaker of this team. I have put thunder punch as a option with eq as most of the time you end up with a set-up
opportunity early on but the only resist is tapu-fini. Its optional but you can decide what you want according to your playstyle.
Tapu-koko: This is your special breaker and the pivoter of your team. Specs koko nothing much I can say about it except that its the goat.
Melmetal: This will be your fairy resist and help deal with fat a little better. You can run toxic or thunder punch as both can be valuable but I would say toxic even with grassy terrain is will help a lot. Thunder punch is electric terrain can be lethal against full defesive corv doing 50-60ish and slowbro.
(I would suggest playing agressively against heatran or adding roost on Charizard or making rillaboom faster would make it easier for you to handle it or you could change mandibuz too rotom-wash with wisp and split but I chose mandi cuz it's heat.)
