Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set.
Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown, on either the main server or the Smogtours server.
To encourage metagame development, prevent disputed results, and ensure an even playing field, replays are required for all matches.
Activity calls will be made by the tournament host, potentially with neutral assistance from a Doubles OU Forum Moderator. Coin flips will be done publicly on PS.
In the event that something is added to or removed from the ADV DOU metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round.
Do not cheat. Cheating will result in a disqualification. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary. Cheating includes, but is not limited to:
Signing up with more than one account
Ghosting or being ghosted by another player (e.g. while playing a set, asking for advice about what team to bring or what plays to make)
Manipulating match outcomes (e.g. throwing a match in exchange for Smogon likes)
Do not harass or insult your opponents. I reserve the right to disqualify anyone breaking this rule. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary.
Massive shoutouts to NinjaSnapple for supporting me throughout, with my often frantic and last minute prep. In the end I did just reuse slight edits of Derby teams for the most part, aside from some newer stuff in the last few rounds, it's hard to go wrong with a spine of the Good Pokemon. Which definitely isn't to say that other stuff can't work, there are a lot of viable spicier picks I just haven't tested enough to feel comfortable using myself.
The Pokemon of the tour was definitely Raikou though (credit to Amaranth for showing the way), that guy is super annoying to deal with, especially after a CM, and good luck revenge killing it outside of Aerodactyl (which if you have rain deals with, but if you don't then people aren't even using Aerodactyl half the time anyways). There are more defensive ways to deal with Raikou, but it exploits a lot of teams that aren't running Light Screen Zapdos and rely on Celebi as their Electric-type resist, speaking of which screens are good and people probably aren't using Ground-types as much as they should.
