It’s the one I’m most interested to see in action because it really could go either way.Mega Meganium looks fine but I'll wait for official things to pass proper judgement, but holy shit everything I've seen of Feraligatr looks horrid.
Where is this picture from? I find it strange that only it leaked (i.e., why do we only have descriptions for the other ones?)
fwiw there was recently a promotional video where regular Meganium was shown, so there not being any regional forms for the starters is not a spoiler at this point. Not that I expected otherwise, but the form reversion list confirms we're just getting plain old Johtonian and Unovan starters rather than regional forms. This was the case in the tera leak build. I don't know at what point 'hyperspace Lumiose' was conceived for the DLC, but it sounds like it could have been enough of an excuse to give the starters regional forms -- just reveal in the DLC they came from the mega dimension.
While on the one hand giving the regular starters megas might give them some actual competitive viability once Champions rolls around (though... doubtful unless they retcon some hidden abilities, I think), from a gameplay experience standpoint I prefer regional forms if Legends games are just going to reuse starters. We've had plenty of opportunities to use their base forms, most recently in the Indigo Disk. I prefer to try and use mons/forms of I've never used before, which in this case rules out using Meganium, even though I otherwise like it best of the three. Thankfully I haven't used Feraligatr or Emboar in 'real' playthrough teams so I'm fine picking from one of them, but if I had used all three already I'd be mulling over whether reusing one or boxing my starter would be more distasteful to me :P
so many of the screenshots that are going around are just fanmade of people trying to fool others, I don't believe anything that we've seen of like Starmie, Feraligatr, Meganium, Dragalge etc have been real. Even the dex entry Starmie screenshot is fake cos the height / weight is the same as regular Starmie.Where is this picture from? As far as I know all of these came from the teraleak and are the images the descriptions were based on.so many of the screenshots that are going around are just fanmade of people trying to fool others, I don't believe anything that we've seen of like Starmie, Feraligatr, Meganium, Dragalge etc have been real. Some look better than others, obvi, Meganium screenshot is probably the best one, but I imagine the overall official design will be a bit different.
I hadn’t looked at these in so long but I totally convinced myself Krookodile was getting one but apparently.. it’s not?As far as fan art goes, this is one of the better quality I've seen based off the teraleak descriptions if your imagination sucks (like mine)
It also comes with the leaked typings to save you to have to check both
Well, there was a crocodile between them...I hadn’t looked at these in so long but I totally convinced myself Krookodile was getting one but apparently.. it’s not?![]()

I think for Gamefreak’s logic is that by adding any form, be it regional form or mega form, that is enough for the generation. For example, Raichu got a new regional form back in gen 7, and now can get a Mega form 2 gens later. Or slowbro got a mega in gen 6, and then gen 8 we got a regional form. There hasn’t been a new generation since we got Typhlosion’s regional form, the new form treatment goes to the other starters.I could have sworn Krookodile was a part of this list too, maybe a separate leaker claimed that at some point?
The Linking Cord not being in the game is incredibly disappointing; I was really hoping that Legends would stay as a predominantly single-player experience, but it seems like that's not going to be the case with this and the emphasis on online battles. It'll probably be offset by trade evolutions being in the wild ala PLA, at least, but I'm still not a fan of them going back on that.
Now that it's 'officially' confirmed that the starters are getting Megas, I wonder if we'll see Mega Typhlosion/Samurott/Serperior in the DLC? I assume not - it's not like we got Hisuian variants of the remaining Johto, Unovan, or Alolan starters - but that game didn't have DLC to add more variants in to begin with.

FWIW we do know what exactly Room 202 is from the demo, it's your room in Hotel Z.The different terms used for the keys seem to imply that room 202 might have a mechanical lock (and thus be in an older building?) rather than it being another keycard, but I'd like a second opinion from somebody who knows Japanese.
Im excited to see Mega Emboar because apparently it is the consensus best looking one according to the leakersIt’s the one I’m most interested to see in action because it really could go either way.
Someone said its arms/spikes make up the bottom jaw and some of the fanart of that looks pretty cool at least.
I mean Meowth got a regional form in SM and then another one in SwSh. PLA is a Gen 8 game and PLZA is a Gen 9 game and it would be a very similar amount of time between releases so it's entirely possible.I think for Gamefreak’s logic is that by adding any form, be it regional form or mega form, that is enough for the generation. Internally, supposedly, the generation marker incremented for BDSP, LA & SV.I've always regarded PLA as Gen 8, with SV's release marking the start of Gen 9 - do we have any indication whether GF and TPC see it one way or the other?
Still, either way a one-generation gap between new forms would be very short, so I can definitely see this applying for Typhlosion and Samurott either way - an isolated Mega Serperior would be very weird, so that's probably out too.
