Well I mean alola had a big focus last year and they finally let galar be a proper game this year so I think it makes sense. Alola will get a lot of stuff for the 2027 tour anyway.
Also just as well, there's not many Alolan species to release.
Wishiwashi, Pyukumuku, Minior all probably get little one off events and Wishi & Minior probably get really annoying gimmick releaese
Speaking of which: Mimikyu. It'll get released....some day. Surely. "Maybe Next Halloween" as they say
Type Null/Silvally will definitely be a season long research thing. Probably in the lead up to Alola Tour proper
Magearna & Zeraora just have to wait to be Go Fest (/etcetc) tie ins like all the other mythics, but there's not many left now in general; it's those 2, phione, manaphy, arceus & Pecharunt.

Meanwhile Paldea's really gotta start working through those Paradoxes sooner than later. They were in the key art for the anniversary and those have their own issues but there's 20 of those things + they've still not released the raidons
That's true, I'd actually forgotten Poipole was only released last year. Feels like much longer. I just want my boi Wishiwashi.
This year has been a pretty low key one for longer term players in terms of raids, there really hasn't been much if any new stuff iirc (megas aside, I mean new legendary releases). So I would expect either the raidons or the Paradoxes in raids before long. Blacephalon's signature move has also been datamined so hopefully those two are back in raids soon (still need the clown's shiny so yes please). There's a chance we'll get the fused Kyurems in December too, possibly if they they follow the recent Dialga/Palkia/Giratina model of "base form in raids, alt form for raid hour". Maybe that was just this season's gimmick but it's an efficient way to include more stuff so I would think they'll continue with it.
It seems pretty likely we'll get some Alola focus next year, quite possibly at GO Fest, because there is currently no option for a shiny mythical for the 2027 masterwork research. Marshadow is the only Alola mythical in GO right now, but Zeraora is the only Alola mythical whose shiny is released. So one of the following has to happen:
-Shiny Marshadow is released in HOME or PZA/gen 10. This seems unlikely, though: even if Marshadow were added to PZA DLC, the dex completion reward is likely to be one of the Kalos mythicals. If Marshadow ends up being catchable in gen10, HOME compatibility and an associated dex completion reward might be too late for GO tour. I guess shiny Marshadow could just be a random reward of some sort, like a ZA Club reward after they run out of mega stones, or something similar to the shiny Zeraora event when Isle of Armor released.
-Zeraora gets added to GO. Possibly as the 2026 GO fest mythical. Alternatively, I could see Zeraora being a raid mon like Darkrai or Genesect, but then the shiny would probably just be released in raids later, in which case they wouldn't use it as the masterwork shiny. So Zeraora for GO Fest 2026 seems like a likely bet(also possibly for other reasons). especially since it gets a mega that has been officially revealed. I could see mega mewtwo raids alongside the Zeraora research that gives its mega energy, just like Diancie.
-Magearna gets added to GO, possibly as the GO fest mythical. Magearna seems less likely to get shoved in raids than Zeraora. Then, either: the masterwork research actually doesn't give the shiny, but is for original color magearna, or shiny Magearna has to be released in HOME or PZA/gen10. PZA/gen10 release boasts the same problems as it does for Marshadow, but I could see shiny Magearna being a release for full dex completion through the end of gen 9 or pre-DLC gen 10, since OC Magearna was for completion up to Eternatus.
-Alola masterwork reward is something disappointing like Johto masterwork giving Apex shadow Lugia.

Main account recently made it to level 72 and mystic alt is close even after the Sableye spotlight hour as I was limited to staying home and using a star piece with the Spacial Rend effect to get as much, only 28 sableye came to me within that hour still, each catch would yield about 2250 stardust.
I am also using the silver bottle cap on a 15/15/12 shiny lucky Groudon as the tasks are challenging. I was able to complete more than half of the first task to complete 45 field research tasks from the wild event where pokestops thankfully allowed to get new task every hour even if was normally completed. Now is hatching 30 eggs, then afterwards the one I dread most to earn 10 candies with my buddy which is a legendary that normally takes 20km for a candy or 10km when using a puffin.
for level 72, I had 50 tagged shadow pokemon to purify as I prioritized those with 1000 stardust, am avoiding those with 5000 or more unless necessary.
