OU DPP OU Teambuilding Competition

This is both my first team built for DPP OU in 15+ years... and my first game in the format in over 15+ years. I was always a big fan of theme teams, and Christmas is the perfect theme for me to return to. I present, Holiday Cheer!

This team of 6 was the best representation I could conjure up for the holiday season! Santa would be nothing without his Mr Mime, offering Subpasses, Twave control, and Taunt to help reposition and establish a board state early on.

Santa follows up his elf helper with some unconventional durability. CM mono Lava plume with rest talk felt familiar, with my many years utilizing crocune-style compositions. Entei's beard was one of the few Pokémon I felt best resembled Santa (outside of the obvious Delibird), so it was a neat adjustment to try and make work in this team.

From here, I knew I'd need a spinner, and what better spinner than one of Santa's own toys! Serving a dual purpose in representing a Dradel AND an ancient toy/doll, it had a really cool niche in OU that I think fit well automatically.

Now, as seen in many movies, Santa is nothing without holiday spirit. With Froslass banned from OU, the next best thing was Spiritomb! Spiritombs, floating ghoulish orbs, somewhat resembled ornaments to me, but also filled a nice phaze-block + bulk that the team could benefit from. I went for another rest talk set, because I love not playing the game. Simple enough.

At this point, looking at my team, I realized I've built a UU team (as I always did in OU back in the day,) so I needed an anchor to solidify the viability of the composition and something to patch up holes. This led me to a relatively standard Jirachi, who is both a Star atop the tree and a star amongst unexpected heroes. I opted to add Wish as the 4th move to aid in the longevity of the comp, and in my replay at the bottom, it proved to be greatly beneficial.

Last but certainly not least, Abomasnow was meeting the required Ice-type addition, but also rounded out the celebratory team with a central Christmas tree. I went for a standard Leech Seed Dual STAB build, which felt like a proper addition given how many Pokémon on the team will struggle with the anti-synergy of hail chip, but will also ensure we can outstall certain builds with our complementary rest/talk users.

This was great fun to build, and looking forward to being a part of the community a lot more and in more conventional settings. :)

^my first game back in the format ended up being decent enough to show that the team works.

HO Cloyster & Double Dance Gliscor.
I'm really excited about this proposal, so I hope I'm not too late. It offers a lot of possibilities, since each ice-type Pokémon can be used in various teams and strategies. Personally, after trying out other options, I decided on Cloyster. I've never used it before, so I guess it's original and fun.

The team isn't very mysterious, except for the introduction of Double Dance Gliscor, which I've never used either. It's similar to Landorus-Therian in the fifth/sixth generation. Depending on the opposing team, I can use RP or SD. I carry Cloyster because it eliminates Aerodactyl with 2 Icy Winds—it can kill defensive Explosion Zapdos. Maybe it's a little excessive, but yes, I think I sometimes get too obsessed. And well, Rotom-F scarf with some resistance, for example vs. DD Gyara with SR damage and designed to just beat Agility Empo. Blizzard can be a bit risky, but it doesn't make sense to put HP Ice when you have access to this. I'm aware that I can add any of the other Rotom forms, but I like it this way.
