an ode to my likecount

A small sum of points, 557 in count

a collection to which I was quite devout

the three-digit number that brought me reprieve

now slowly resets on this Christmas's Eve.


'Twas bid to a movement far greater than I

as Twelve Days of Likeshop's auction was nigh

and with it a chance to right OU's wrong:

to see Solgaleo where it had to belong.


A small part I played, but a part nonetheless

and as the auction reached its egress

I decided to fully pledge to the cause

knowing the consequences, yet done without pause.


And now I rest, free and fulfilled

because into existence SolgaleOU's been willed

yet at the cost of a too-painful spike:

for I shall be left with not one like.
 
As I logged on to Smogon I saw a new thread;
"Oh, it's likeshop again," I said with some dread.
I wondered what pointless suspect would win:
Ogerpon-Wellspring? Or Dnite? Or Kyurem?
I opened the thread, expecting a letdown;
But found something greater: A new ladder? On Showdown!?
'Twas then that I saw it, that excellent post,
For the cause of an Iron Fist ladder - We must vote!
I pledged all my likes for I knew that was right,
To fishing and Metapod and Silly types
So that Pet Mods could have a real place on main;
And so new people could use mons like Sunflora-Grave.
But alas! We were broken, and beaten, and damned,
By Solgaleo in OU, and 1v1 Rands.
It was a great effort, but not the outcome we wished for -
The Iron Fist fandom is dying. Repost if you're a true fister.

I lost it all to spite a stupid ou suspect test ladder and it didn't even work bc of the participation prize

They should've raffled the other ladder slot, with a big date for when UT does randpick in some random ps room

though with hate in his heart, and nothing to roast
There was only one man he could blame.
The one whose posts were truely lame,
From which the realisation set him aflame.
"I HOPE YOU DIE IN A DITCH,
YOU WICKED AND TYRANNICAL EVIL BITCH"
For the darkness of "and 10 others" broke him so
And from which there was nothing left to go.
they banned this poster and buried him under the tree
And from which his silence sprouted endless glee.
And to this day, badge owners now post in joy
For the riddance of that putrid boy.
