NOC Tracker Jailer Follower - Game Thread - Its Over!

The last game I played was Popcorn Mafia, in which Des sucked all the air out of the game basically since the jump, was so checked out she attempted to scumread players who had already died and flipped town, and was so frustrating to deal with that a gunholder pretty much rage quit by shooting her, so that's the lens I'm going into this game with. From a game philosophy pov, I also do genuinely think Des is more valuable to town dead than alive since she's totally impossible to read or get information out of on top of being a lightning rod for negative attention that distracts from actual scumhunting for days on end even if she flips town.

Wait, there was a Popcorn Mafia 4?

I think we could probably do that anyway lmao. Follower just tells you the action iirc. I think they just know more abt the set-up than we do? I'm not rlly sure tbh, htat's why I wanted to talk about it more.

How does it hurt you if we do get a protected townclear is more my question ig? Why should we keep ourselves in the dark about the set-up when I don't think it hurts us to know more?

It might actually help some of the other roles too, ie if Follower exists and finds someone who can RB, in Set-up 4 that's a 50/50 on maf or Jailkeep. In set-up 5 that's a confirmed guilty. If we know IC exists then we can confirm that it's set-up 5 and they have a clear guilty.

And for the Mason's one, I'm not rlly sure how much it helps besides two town clears, still waiting on DBD on why that's more advantageous tbh.

This is also contingent on there being any of those roles, idk how much it helps us to know that it's one of 2, 3, or 4 for the set-up if none of those exist.
I just don't see the benefit in clearing a town person off the get go. What is the town clear going to do for us that they couldn't do while staying hidden?

if your strategy is ok, let's have the town clear dictate everything in the thread and decide who to vote, then sure I would be in favor of that strategy. I'm not sure how good of a strategy it is, but it makes sense.

otherwise we're just helping mafia narrow down the PRs for no real good benefit.

~~~ thinking time ~~~
actually i see where you're coming from now w.r.t how the follower works. in that case i'm indifferent to claiming. i think overall i'm against but I can't be too upset if someone decides that's the path they want to take. i would suggest against it though in the hopes that mafia get unlucky and kills vanillas and we have more info in the later game.
I've played more than one game with des, but I've made my point and you guys aren't biting so I'll back off for now.
Is people not trying d1 generally nai?
I think it kind of looks shady to back off your opinion like this, feels like mafia trying to go for an easy misvote early, gauging the response of the thread, and then backing off once you realize no one's especially biting.
this is kind of the dichotomy that I think people have wrt des. if des!town, mafia is always going to try and leave them as an option for a vote. and it's not a bad plan, because from a town perspective i personally think there is value in voting des d1 early vs anyone else the mafia experts believe to be mafia based on the fact that on the balance d1 is kind of just a rand vote.
alternatively, des!mafia i don't think has happened yet. obviously scumbuddies don't want to bus too hard but I think they have to be very open to that possibility. how early they go for it i'm not sure though. at least early i think it's much easier to soft defend des and hope people rvs elsewhere so kind of want to say evie and miyami are lean town for me atm.
pulsar hasn't posted anything at all so i'm taking them being afk=town lol.
unfortunately i'm going to be out most all of tomorrow including deadline it looks like. that's unfortunate. i really like no voting! let's give everyone a chance to do something in the game :)
okay what about this game though?
I'm sympathetic to your experience but I'm much more interested in what we can do to avoid that sort of scenario this game, assuming you are town. are you thinking about changing your playstyle in response? playing differently somehow? etc
idk theres not enough info
idk theres not enough info
you don't have enough info to decide if you are going to be playing this game differently?
i recognize not a lot is going on right now. that's why i'm asking about how you are approaching this game instead. what is your philosophy, what do you want to do better at, how are you planning to play this game. if the answer is you are not thinking about any of those things, that's okay too!
Anyway what a way to start the game, Miyami are you going to keep pushing the wall that des is or not? I can kinda understand your frustration but still like half the people here have not talked yet, singling someone out for the way they play the game is not cool, however I think that makes you town xd
