Ness wasn't getting nightkilled but it makes sense that he drew that conclusion from his perspective and is towny

his conclusion about the scumteam only makes sense if he thought he would have been a good candidate to be killed
but he's also not thought through what he's saying that much (the chances of doc starting on a vet NOC and OC player who knows his rep is reasonably low in this game and even if it were higher he's a bad doc target because the chances of scumteam having a player who's hype to see Ness play and therefore not kill him is relatively high, so a proficient doc banks on scum not killing him bc it's wreck the vibes and protects someone else)

I didn't think that I would be a kill candidate, but i think the mafia would think I'm a protection candidate, so they are free to target a vocal townie because they would think the BG is tied up. is that more clear? You would typically expect the mafia to avoid the SUPER vocal townies because they would be BG targets, but if the mafia thinks the BG will be tied up on me, then they'll be more willing to take the risk.
So that's why even though i didn't htink i'd be a NK kill target, being a BG target is still possible and relevant to the mafia

I'd still say if they then went "oh doc's tied up with Ness we can target someone else" they would kill Peum or me or actually even DBD based on the D1 before Laurel, Laurel's fairly low down the list
dbd had the most townreads from different people D1 I think
no big showy ones or anything but I think the biggest quantity of light ones
