And the winner is... Fat Balance :giratina-origin: :alomomola: :chien-pao: :ditto: :arceus-fairy: :groudon-primal: by TheShowdownHero!

Next Pokemon is...
:sv/ferrothorn:
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD or 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Tera Type: Water / Grass
Sassy or Relaxed Nature
- Power Whip
- Spikes / Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Knock Off / Protect / Gyro Ball

Ferrothorn is one of the best non-Ubers Pokemon in this tier, courteous of its unique typing, great defensive stats, and outright obnoxious move choices in Leech Seed, Spikes, and Knock Off. These tools allow Ferrothorn to stall out threats such as Primal Kyogre and Giratina-O, while making good progress for its team, thus anchoring itself a place in the tier for balance and fat teams. How will you build around it?

Building lasts until 4th February.

Legoland
:ferrothorn::garganacl::yveltal::arceus-fairy::ho-oh::alomomola:
No Primal Groudon is unusual, but I think this may be the most effective team I've built. I've been wanting to use Stealth Rock Garganacl for a while, and it combined with Ferrothorn make a potent hazard stacking duo, Garganacl making hazard removal from Ho-Oh rather difficult, especially combined with the multiple Knock Off users. The combination of Spikes and Stealth Rock reveals the secondary purpose of Knock Off on Yveltal, that being to facilitate its role as an end game cleaner. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Choice Scarf Tera Dark Dark Aura Foul Play go brrr, and the few that don't take bazillions from it, namely Zygarde and Eternatus, aren't too fond of taking a Knock Off, which does good damage in its own right as well as severely impacting the longevity of Zygarde. The common Arceus Dark poses a problem, but between Ho-Oh and the bazillions it will take from chip damage from hazards and Salt Cure, that's not a long term answer, and U-turn not only chips it down, but also immediately puts it in the hot seat. Trying to play the long game against this team is a bad idea though, as it is meant to last. Ho-Oh and Alomomola form a powerful regenerating defensive core, and Wish support keeps the entire team healthy. Add onto that Garganacl, and this team has some unbelievable longevity that becomes quite hard to match when every time the opponent switches in they take a bunch from hazards. Even stall finds itself outmatched, being disarmed by Knock Off and outlasted by Tera Poison Alomomola and Garganacl, who is constantly setting up Stealth Rock as to make their lives even harder.

But if you instead try to bash through the team with brute force, you find that the team is rock solid. There aren't really cracks in this team, the members coming together to check just about everything.
Zacian? I switch to Alomomola and pivot to Yveltal if it Swords Dances, or Garganacl if it doesn't, and if it comes back later, I have Ho-Oh and Tera Water Garganacl, and in a pinch Ferrothorn who makes it take chip from Iron Barbs and lower its defenses with Close Combat, leaving it more open to Yveltal. Meteor Beam Eternatus? Between Ho-Oh and Arceus Fairy, both of which have troublesome Tera for it, it has trouble taking a kill before it's forced out. Marshadow? Alomomola takes hits from it rather well, giving the team room to react to what it looks itself into and respond with their numerous options for a switch in. Between Garganacl who shrugs off its Ghost hits and can Tera in a pinch to protect itself from Low Kick, Arceus Fairy who doesn't care about Low Kick, takes its Ghost moves well enough, and retaliates with a super effective Judgement, Choice Scarf Yveltal who Marshadow just hates in general, Ho-Oh who regens Low Kicks like its nothing, and even Ferrothron who can get chip on Marshadow with Iron Barbs, Marshadow hasa terrible time with this team. Arceus Ground? If Tera Grass Power Whip Ferrothorn wasn't enough, we also have Alomomola, Tera Garganacl, Tera Yveltal, Tera Ho-Oh, and Alomomola who gives this team plenty of wiggle room. Primal Kyogre? Ferrothron and Arceus Fairy, and also has a general hard time coming in between the hazards and most of the team doing considerable damage to it. Life Orb Yvetlal? Arceus Fairy, and in a pinch Tera Fairy Ho-Oh, as well as Choice Scarf Yvetlal who can switch in and clear webs. Ultra Necrozma? It has a harder time setting up than you might think, Tera Yvetlal can take care of it, and in the case of a surprise Outrage, Arceus Fairy is there to then take it out. Double Dance Primal Groudon? Probably one of the harder ones for this team, but between Tera Water Garganacl, Ho-Oh, and Ferrothorn, either variation should be more than doable. Extreme Killer Arceus? Garganacl and Ferrothorn. Deoxys Attack? Surely I don't have anything for Deoxys Attack, right? Well, between the two Regenerator Pokemon, the impressively bulky Arceus form, and Ferrothorn who also punishes the one move it has that does things to it with Iron Barbs chip damage, Deoxys Attack struggles to make progress against the team until it gets a great prediction, meaning Life Orb recoil becomes a major problem that can do it in without any of my Pokemon launching a single attack. And if it's forced to switch out to reset the stat reduction from Psycho Boost, it will likely take hazard damage when it comes back in, cutting down the time it has to make progress even more. And even in the worst case scenario where it does get a kill, Choice Scarf Yveltal comes in to revenge kill it, clicking U-turn for absolutely free so that when it inevitably switches out, the momentum keeps up (and obviously if it doesn't switch it dies). Not that Yvetal needs to revenge kill it, as it shrugs off Psycho Boost and Shadow Ball and takes a Low Kick well enough, meaning it is more than capable of coming in via a raw switch. The terrifying Deoxys Attack that many teams struggle hard to answer defensively actually has a very hard time against this team. Even against Lunala, a Pokemon that scares literally every single Pokemon in the tier, this team doesn't actually struggle that much, between Arceus Fairy and Ho-Oh providing plenty of wiggle room at least initially, whereas the common GHAZ teams have to fear a surprise Moonblast against the Arceus Dark switch in, leaving Ho-Oh as the only "safe" option who still fears Trick. And of course, it absolutely hates not only the hazards this team never lets up, but also just the Pokemon here in general. It hates the possibility of a Knock Off from Ferrothron or Yveltal, it hates pivoting from Yveltal and Alomomola, and it can't beat a healthy Arceus Fairy and Ho-Oh on top of it all regenerating off its limited Moongeist Beam PP as well as the possibility it forces it in with a Whirlwind and breaks Shadow Shield is the cherry on top. I even put Whirlwind Tera Fairy Ho-Oh in case the Dragon Dance Zygarde matchup wasn't good enough, and this isn't a decision that really hurts the team, as it doesn't really need Tera Grass, and being greedy with Tera Flying isn't something it can probably do a lot when 90% of the time the Tera is going to be used by Garganacl or Yveltal.
This team has an answer for basically everything. Now, obviously no team can perfectly hold off everything forever, and a combination of threats can put pressure on this team and eventually poke holes in it. But the more offensive the team is and the better equipped it is to do this, the easier it is for Choice Scarf Yveltal to clean up the team. Making progress against this team requires commitment and usually sacrifice. And with Alomomola providing Wish support, you either need to commit even more to make sure you not just leave something on low HP but take the kill, or provide pressure constantly over the many turns this team can last to prevent Alomomola from undoing your progress. While you might be able to poke the right holes, doing so leaves yourself open enough to let me do the same to you. With the sheer amount of chip damage this team builds up, you have to respect the Yveltal in the back, so playing too aggressive can easily lead to it cleaning up the game. But playing too conservatively lets the team heal off any damage you deal and accumulate chip damage that will build up to cause your demise long before you make any meaningful progress. Even other Alomomola teams struggle, because if their Alomomola's boots get knocked off, providing Wish support becomes infinitely harder in Legoland. This team sticks you between a rock and a spiky place, and I'm very proud of it.

One last thing that makes this my perfect team is that I recently realized how close this comes to something I've wanted for so long. For a while I've been thinking about a possible perfect team in this tier. There are of course countless amazing teams possible in this tier, but in my eyes the perfect team is one that can always win. This means one thing, and that is consistency. There is a lot of luck in Pokemon, but ideally there would be a team that minimizes it as much as possible, composed entirely of strategies that will work regardless of things like accuracy. Of course, the existence of critical hits make this an inherently almost impossible task, and even beyond that the best Pokemon in the tier clicks almost exclusively moves that can miss. All attempts I've made to make a team that doesn't rely on accuracy moves have ended poorly, and I've only been able to settle for teams that rely on them as little as possible. But yesterday, or perhaps the day before, I realized this team actually comes kinda close. This move does have moves that can miss, but not a lot, and not too many of them. Sacred Fire is the most commonly used of them, but it only has a 5% chance to miss. The only other ones are Alomomola's Toxic and Ferrothorn's Leech Seed, which have only a 10% chance to miss, and Ferrothorn's Power Whip, with a 15% chance to miss. That last one isn't actually a move used too often, mostly just for Primal Kyogre, and Leech Seed is great, but isn't usually a move that loses you the game if you miss it. Alomomola's Toxic being able to miss is very annoying and can lose you the game, it's not too bad, and if I can Tera Poison, I can remove that possibility entirely. This team doesn't actually rely on luck very much at all, and a team like that that is also as good as this is something I've been looking to make for a long time.

Overall, I'm exceptionally proud of this team, and am very proud to show it off. Hopefully you weren't too daunted by this giant wall of text to read this, and I'd like feedback on this team in pms or on discord if you're feeling it, because I'm eager to see what you all think.

Edit: Tournament game I won with the team:

CM Groundceus BO :ferrothorn: :arceus-ground: :groudon-primal: :eternatus: :yveltal: :pheromosa:

Calm Mind Arceus-Ground is pretty cool, and it combines with Ferrothorn to make a decent anti-meta duo that annoys standard GHAZ and fat balance structures with Alomomola and Giratina-O. Primal Groudon obviously just glues this team together against Zacian-C. Life Orb Eternatus synergises nicely with Arceus-Ground to overwhelm checks like Ho-Oh and the aforementioned Giratina-O. Pheromosa offers speed control against Zacian-C, Deoxys-A, and helps vs Smeargle Sticky Web. Finally, Yveltal checks opposing Primal Groudon, DD Arceus-Ground, and Ultra Necrozma via Sucker Punch.

Fantine v2
:diancie: :ferrothorn: :zygarde: :ho-oh: :deoxys-attack: :chien-pao:

I made changes to the team I had released 2 years ago.

This team features Mega Diancie.
My M-Diancie moves are Moonblast, Diamond Storm, Mystical Fire and Stealth Rock.
Mystical Fire covers opposing Ferrothorn (otherwise, it walls this team too much).
In addition, stealth rock forces progress (particularly relevant when ho-oh or yveltal switches to another mon such as Zacian).
I don't use Earth Power (the team's M-Diancie does not need to offensively check PDon).
I also don't use substitute (this team's matchup against nuzzle smeargle HOs wouldn't be too bad even without it).

Ferrothorn has 3 main benefits over PDon.
Ferrothorn is a better check against Primal-Kyogre (particularly the offensive variant used by most players).
Ferrothorn also is better against hyper offense leads (ex. Smeargle, Glimmora, etc.)
In addition, Ferrothorn is immune to toxic (a key trait in dealing against Alomomola teams).
A main drawback is that Ferrothorn does not check Zacian-C as well.

Zygarde is the physical wall of this team. It's the team's main check to PDon.
Tera fairy to deal with opposing dragon dance/dragon tail Zygarde.

Ho-oh is the defogger.
Its set is defensive (rather than the typical Brave Bird offensive one).
Since this team does not use Primal Groudon, I need a harder check against Zacian-C in particular.

Deoxys-A is one of the team's revenge killers/wallbreakers.
I decided to use this rather than Zacian-C.
Zacian-C is not as good of a wallbreaker here (especially against stall/bulky teams in general).
In addition, I consider tera ghost Deoxys-A to be a good enough check against EKiller Arceus.
I think a 1700s player I lost to suggested using Deoxys-A instead of Zacian-C.
My Deoxys-A moves are Psycho Blast, Low Kick, Tera Blast and Knock Off.
Knock Off provides another way of removing items (ex. the opponent is unlikely to switch Ho-oh against my Ferrothorn).
In addition, Tera Ghost provides a ghost-type attack that unlike Shadow Ball, isn't reduced by the -2 SpA after using Psycho Boost.
If I already used tera on another mon, I can just use Knock Off (ex. against Necrozma-DM).

Chien-Pao is the team's other revenge killer/wallbreaker.
I still need a check against Ultra Necrozma (in particular, a Dark-type switchin to Light That Burns the Sky).
I decided to use this rather than Yveltal (it's a lot faster. In particular, it outspeeds opposing YGod).

:groudon-primal::zygarde::ho-oh::yveltal::arceus-rock::lunala: (click for team)
Wanted to branch out from Alomomola structures, but fighting Ho-Oh with GHAZ sounds like a pain. IDK if I'd call it a bad matchup, but it's really annoying cause you just don't have enough options to threaten that bird short term. So I decided to drop Arceus Dark for Arceus Rock, which also let me run Spikes on Groudon because stacking hazards gives me dopamine. Choice Scarf Yveltal is my bread and butter so of course I had to add it, and I rounded the team out with Lunala as a breaker and switch-in to Primal Kyogre.

hooooly shit

mbeam etern + dd ndm floobering
:gothitelle::groudon-primal::yveltal::necrozma-dusk-mane::arceus-fairy::eternatus:
spinny floober.gif

half life 3 is dropping soon trust

:gothitelle: Our boy floober here is where the team idea began. This team was originally built for the NDFL finals because I hadn't gotten the opportunity to run floober a single time in the whole tournament and I wanted to bring it at least once. It's the standard slow bulky Gothitelle with Cosmic Power because the team isn't very weak to Zygarde, but doesn't enjoy Ultra Necrozma so it doesn't mind eating a Photon Geyser or two. The extra PP from Cosmic Power also helps vs stall. The team doesn't really mind Stall aside from that so I opted for Tera Water to help vs Trick Room and NDM.

:groudon-primal: Primal Groudon is fairly standard. It does Primal Groudon things; check Primal Kyogre, goob Zacian-C, click the rocks button, toxic the Ho-Oh. It is however the team's only Toxic user so it is recommended that you preserve pdon until you have Toxiced all targets you want.

:yveltal: Choice Scarf Yveltal is no strange sight on a team featuring Gothitelle. They pair very well as Yveltal deals with the fast offense that often easily takes care of Gothitelle, while Gothitelle deals with bulky targets that mess with Yveltal's longevity. I opted for Oblivion Wing over the more standard Toxic so you can more easily deal with Tera Fairy Blast + Earth Power Mewtwo which otherwise can really mess up this team. Also gives a tiny bit of longevity which can sometimes turn out crucial. It has Tera Ghost because I like it and also otherwise the team kinda loses to Ekiller Arceus without it.

:necrozma-dusk-mane: A team featuring floober also has to bring some setup sweepers to take advantage of the sudden disappearance of mons that could stop its sweep. Necrozma Dusk Mane is not a mon I have put on a Gothitelle team before this, but a really good partner as it really loves Zygarde not being in the picture, nor having to risk a Stone Edge miss vs Ho-Oh, while it can live almost any move with Prism Armor and swing back with an insane Searing Sunraze Smash.

:arceus-fairy: Arceus-Fairy is a necessary part of this team as without it, the team lacks a necessary measure against Yveltal and other Calm Mind Arceus formes. The super effective hit on the aforementioned Yveltal, aswell as Arceus-Dark, and the bevy of dragons in the tier means that it is a potent sweeper and with Gothitelle in the picture it does not have to worry about Ho-Oh as much. Tera dark is mainly for Ultra Necrozma, which otherwise sits on this team if floober gets goobed, but is also nice for Mewtwo.

:eternatus: Meteor Beam Eternatus is a cool bring on a Gothitelle sheet I hadn't used before either. It is the strong immediate damage dealer the team needs and paired with Arceus-Fairy it makes a nasty Special Attacker combo. Recover ensures longevity and Tera Dragon helps vs Primal Groudon which otherwise kinda lays a big fat dump on this team. Pressure also helps when pp stalling for Gothitelle. 44 spdef evs lets it live a +2 Dark Pulse or a Black Hole Eclipse from Chi-Yu.

alright that was it bye uhh eat your veggies kids bye

:groudon-primal: :zygarde: :landorus-therian: :kingambit: :fezandipiti: :ditto: EruptDon + DD Zygarde Offense

Dragon Dance Zygarde has three main checks; Tera Fairy Zygarde, Tera Grass Ho-Oh, and Dondozo. What beats all three? That's right, Eruption Primal Groudon. Fire Blast is the last move in case it takes a chunk of damage to the point where Eruption is too weak to use. Landorus-T makes up for the lack of physical defense, checking Zacian-C, rock-move Primal Groudon, Arceus-Ground, and, thanks to the Sitrus Berry, Marshadow. Kingambit lets me handle Lunala, Giratina-O, and Ultra Necrozma, while Fezandipiti beats CM Arceus formes, Yveltal, Toxic Spikes, and thanks to Utility Umbrella, defensive Primal Kyogre. Finally, Ditto is just speed control against offense teams that may try to out-offense us, such as against Extreme Killer Arceus.
