My Submission for Mechalico Cause.
A few words.
Ever since I was a boy. I dreamed of besting phoopes. I dreamed of picking up my knife, shanking him in a dusty alleyway, and holding my bloodied knife up in victory. Not with cheap underhanded tactics. But with the honor and glory of fighting until our last breaths. With this logo I am not simply looking to win a contest or earn a prize. I am going back in with the sole intent to slit phoopes' throat from one side to the other. I promise you a show, a spectacle, with nothing but the heart of the underdog, from the boy who understands that the only way you can lose in this contest is to admit defeat in your heart of hearts, to bow out before great evil and allow it to trample you.
That will be all.

Phoopes no offense brother but I don't know what you expected when you signed up to be in a knife fight
DBD challenged me to "fewest hints on the minute cryptic," and as Smogoff's premier cryptic constructor I think that was a bold but respectable call. I looked at this clue and immediately knew exactly what every component in it was doing, but trying to actually find the word based on that was still hard
In the end though I solved it in no hints which beats DBD's one hint.Lowkey was keeping "see who can beat a mini cryptic fastest" in my pocket for if/when I was matched against phoopes lol
Perhaps challenging Smogoff's cryptic master to a duel in his field of expertise was a bad choice. Well played Bliz, you have my support through the rest of the knife fight

I really liked round 4 so thank you knife fighters. Both phoopes and Clem put in extremely impressive efforts and the Bliz vs DBD matchup was like Ali vs Frazier
The mechalico clause decision was agonizing for me because I love both Clem's and Mechalico's pieces but I'm giving it to Mechalico because I appreciate the expansiveness of the effort and Jynx licking the knife made me laugh out loud
