You can just use Pokepaste...
Also people usually put their teams here after they reach a milestone (usually making it to top 50), not to dump, but you do you.

Can you...explain your choices for this team, both on an individual Pokemon basis, and the team as a whole?

Can someone skilled just take one of these teams and get to top 100 or something? That Razor Shell Slowbro could hit some of those high ladder Spdef Excadrills for big damage

What do you all think killed this meta? Couple of weeks ago when I was still playing, the active battles were higher than most other formats, except Gen 9 OU and Rand Bats. Now it's 4 to 5 active battles everytime I check.

Was it the inactivity of the council? The removal of custom abilities? The Meganium agenda? Magearna once again not getting banned even though it is clearly too powerful and overcentralizing for the metagame? The new Pokedex in general? Sand Veil Stunfisk???

What are your reasons for not being as active anymore?

its a combination of factors but i can list a few primary ones (i think)

The main ones include:
-the council refusing to make changes due to some tournament
-really unfortunate timing for the last patch (nobody wants to fight Prankster Mega Clefable)
-lack of tiers beyond OU

As i see it, most people slowly realized how unfun the meta is, and id argue Prankster Mega Clefable was the final nail in the coffin. From the invincible Regenerator Golisopod, the absurdity of Ange Mega Floette, to the terimnator itself Mega Starmie, most people just got sick of fighting the same overpowered stuff. To be fair, post DLC meta was infinitely better then the gen 1/gen 2 esq pre-dlc meta with Skarm/Clef/Chomp balance being everywhere after some bans and rebalances were issued, but its still not good.

It didn't help that ontop of all that
-Annihilape was in OU for too long on the basis that, without tera, it would "be fine"
-Magearna refused to be banned because idk
-We didnt get an official Viability Ranking OR official preset teams or whatever they're called
-Natural decline of interest of a Petmod
-We axed custom abilities fairly early on. While this was a good decision short term, it killed the tier long term since we were stuck with every existing ability, and there are very few abilities that can define megas without being overpowered or stepping on the toes of other megas. In my opinion, many megas can benefit from abilities that are functionally the same, but retrofitted to be more fitting (i.e. Tera Shell Mega Scrafty or Steel Type Liquid Voice for Mega Chimecho). I know we "kind of" tried this with Leader of the Pride (Special-boosting Orichalchum Pulse) and Contrarian (Simple + Contrary) but imo those didn't work for their own reasons

We're about 3 days away from the release date of Pokemon Champions being announced. Unless the announced date is anywhere in mid-April or later, i dont see the tier picking up steam, barring divine intervention such as finding out the abilities of any of the new Megas (except Mega Starmie), a second ZA DLC (not happening lmfao), Gen 10 megas (maybe????????)

Y'all need to get over the very dumb notion that Custom Abilities or multiple tiers was gonna save the metagame.
I’ll add that Custom Abilities are like signature Abilities; it can provide flavor and all, but proved too hit-or-miss to rely entirely upon just to make some Pokémon stand out, to the point a few Pokémon identity ends up revolved entirely on it or a signature move instead of their own merits.

would it be more viable to rurn focus blast> dpulse on mega dragonite?
trying to make a rain team centered around dnite, so far i have thundder hurricane and ice beam, but im stuck on the last move. Stab dpulse is reliable but with focus blast i could expand my coverage against ttar bax gren etc. The accuracy is throwing me off super.
My second question, for this rain team again, gholdengho, magearna or both?

While I do agree that multiple tiers would've probably been too much upkeep, custom abilities were fun. Tho they wouldnt have saved the tier, certainly not.

Most of the time Ttar and Bax are gonna be immediate switch outs for you, so I would cover them with other teammates. Gren gets hit by Thunder. Dpulse doesnt get the sheer force boost, so its not really worth using, since most dragon types are either weak to ice beam or faster than nite. If you dont want to run Draco for the power, ESpeed/Vacuum Wave for priority could be good. Could also go roost for healing or agility for speedboosting. Focus blast is good if the accuracy doesnt bother u too much, since it also gets the sheer force boost. It really depends what mons are covered by the rest of your team.

As for the second question, it also really depends on the rest of your team. Both are good in rain and you could use both, since they are easily some of the best mons in the tier. Cant rly help u there without seeing the rest of the team.

I think you're taking it wrong, the custom abilities would have brought up the viability of some Pokémon and would have been fun to use, not save the tier. (The tier was kind of doomed to begin with imo, it's fun to play but if you're gonna make a format for guessing abilities that will be announced later, it already has a due date)

The discussion was about the tier being dead though. customs not stopping that from happening. I have seen the ideas people kept pushing...I dont think people were gonna get that balanced viability they were hoping for either

There are multiple factors about this tier dying:
1. The council - they've been a bit quiet/ignorant since the last update, still not banning Magearna and not showing signs of balancing things ever since (ever since the Genesect episode I think it's safe to say the balancing was whack to begin with)

2. The metagame - it's way too centralized here, even more than SV OU since there are limited mons, and basically every team had at least one of the top 5 Overused. It was just too hard to build around for lots of people. Also I agree with the Clefable & Veil abilities statements, those two were really annoying to deal with as a whole. No team checks everything, but here, it felt more like your team can't check much at all without losing to everything else

3. Pokémon Champions - this sounds out of left field, but I think since people expect it to release soon, they're assuming we'll get all the megas out of the gate and would rather wait for that then play a meta with little moderation.

I'll add that there was also the idea that all megas should try to be viable, but that's too hard to do. For every mega Salamence, there's a mega Abomasnow: you can't balance them all without making everything broken. I wish the tier had a better end, but it's just slowly became obsolete, and nothing can really save it now, even if there was one last balance. (Cough, Defeatist Mega Garchomp Z, Cough)

inb4 all the Z Megas get a shared ability like Paradoxes or Ultra Beasts 0.0
