Little things you like about Pokémon

One thing I like about Z-A that in hindsight I wish Arceus had done more of is that, with the DLC, a fair chunk of the new Pokémon from Scarlet & Violet are not only included in the Pokédex expansion, but are also actively showcased through various side quests. (Not to mention, four of them even get Mega Evolutions.)

It’s something that makes Z-A feel more aesthetically of a part with Gen 9, and gives those Pokémon some more time in the limelight while their generation is still current. (Fortunately, Z-A also does this for a share of Gen 8 Pokémon as well, which kind of makes up for things.)

I like that after Kadabra got the greenlight to show up in things they decided to consistently give it cards.
3 distinct cards in 151, Twilight Masquerade and Mega Evolution alongside a Shiny in Paldean Fates (and a regular reprint in both it and terastal festival in japan)

They got this thing and damn it they're making up for lost time. There could potentially be another one this year if they decide they want a Mega Alakazam ex before the block is over!

e: And it showed up twice in Pocket, the second of which had new artwork

Okay so, I really love these particular artworks of Ho-oh & Lugia and I've seen them in a few places before (Youtube videos, other promos). Where's it from originally? Is it TCG art?

I believe this art was made for the 2018 Year of Legendary Pokemon or at least heavily associated with their event distribution, with their separated versions being on the code card.

I like that the super bowl commercial for the 30th anniversary of Pokemon found a celebrity who liked Luxray.
You got all these gen 1 lovers, the one guy who likes Zygarde which for the sake of this conversation I will assume is legitimate and something they were seeking out for Z-A, and then. Luxray.

It also had the cutest interactions imo.

Never thought I’d hear Lady Gaga singing the Jigglypuff lullaby tbh

I hope TPCi has a second version of this ad locked and loaded for April Fools' day in which every celebrity's favorite Pokemon is Charizard.

I am remembering this commercial for Diamond and Pearl from way back when and I'm chuckling because this narrator's voice is clearly Yuri Lowenthal, who plays Spider-Man in the Marvel's Spider-Man games, Ben Tennyson in Ben 10, and Sasuke in Naruto among so many other characters.

I started with DP and have a fondness for it and finding out a voice actor who I'm a huge fan of actually recorded for a commercial for Diamond and Pearl is actually kinda cool, kid me never noticed it but older me does. Yuri really was in everything back then even in places you wouldn't expect.

Reminded earlier of what must be one of the most under-the-radar terrifying lines from the entire series:

"The cave that links SOOTOPOLIS and the outside world… It seems as if the cave was made to keep something from getting out. Or am I just imagining things?"
Where exactly does that line show up?

Quite a minor detail, but I love how the routes in Kalos all have names, as opposed to just being called Route 1, 2, etc. It adds character to the region beyond just the towns. Hopefully they'll do the same thing in the next Gen.
Super late reply since I just viewed this thread, but a little thing I like about Pokemon (that I just noticed upon seeing this comment) is the routes being numbered instead of being named. It just gives that nostalgic Pokemon feeling. Using Kanto as an example I would 100 percent choose route numbers over names.

Edit - like I like how route numbers progess through generations 1 through 4, but don't like how it restarts in generation 5, which is a little reason that contributes as to why I only follow and like generations 1 through 4.

I love how Pokemon doesn't force you to switch around members of your party like old-school RPGs (or in other words, forces guest star party members on you). It's entirely up to the player's discretion to swap their team if they are underpowered or what have you and that's how it should be.

Compare this to Final Fantasy IV, which is in love with rotating your party every five minutes. I don't really care if it services the story and they provide your roles with replacements of competent levels, it's just annoying.
